Question:
Greetings, I am rebuilding a boat trailer that was originally designed for a Bayliner. But is currently trailering a 26foot Regal Commodore, 4,800 lbs. If I replace with the adjustable brackets, will they support the weight? Three bunks on each side, 1 forward, 2 aft with a total of 9+ supporting brackets 3 on each bunk, with 2x6 bunks. I will also be needing keel rollers, brackets, u bolts, bunk carpet etc. Thank you in advance.

I spoke with my contact at CE Smith, and they said the Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assembly for Boat Trailers, part # CE10000G, do not bear the weight of the boat. The U-bolt that attaches the brackets to the trailer frame support the weight of the boat. There should be a bracket attached to each cross member of the trailer frame. If you are buying several brackets, I would recommend part # CE10000G-4. This is a set of 4 of the 9 inch adjustable brackets.
If you need longer adjustable brackets for your trailer I would recommend par # CE10001G-4. This is a set of 4 of the 11 inch adjustable brackets. The single 11 inch brackets is part # CE10001G. For a 13 inch option, I would recommend part # CE10002G for the single bracket, or part # CE10002G-4, for the set of 4.
I would recommend the CE Smith Deluxe Marine-Grade Carpeting, part # CE11349, for your bunks. This carpet is marine-grade carpet that is easy to clean, resists mold and mildew, and comes with a 3-year warranty against fading. It is 18 ft long and 18 inches wide, which would work on your 2 X 6 boards.
The Keel Rollers I would recommend would be the CE Smith Deep V Keel Roller Assembly for Boat Trailers, part # CE10405G. These assemblies feature a features a 12 inch black rubber roller and a galvanized steel bracket with slotted mounting holes for adjusting. I have linked you to a product review video of these assemblies.
These assemblies and brackets do not come with mounting hardware, so I have linked you to our product page for the u-bolts we offer. You can use the menu on the left side of the page and select the u-bolts by the sizes you will need. This would be based on the size of the trailer frame and cross members you are attaching the brackets and keel roller assemblies to.
I would also recommend the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers, part # CE27636 for your boat. These guides provide a visual aide when loading your boat and also when backing your boat down the ramp. They are made of 2 inch PVC and slip over steel posts that attach to the trailer frame, They are 75 inches tall and come with the mounting hardware.
You will want to make sure that the trailer you are rebuilding is capable of handling the weight of the 26 ft Regal Commodore. Since you did not say how big the Bayliner was that the trailer was designed for, the components such as axles, suspension, and wheels and tire capacity would need to be considered when making any changes to the trailer.
