You limp to the shoulder with a ruined spindle. Weld on CE Smith's replacement and roll again. It's 8-1/4" long, rated 1,750 lbs, and set for L44649 outer and L68149 inner bearings - a clean fix that gets you moving.

Hi, everyone. Steve here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at our CE Smith Spindle. It's an axle spindle and it's a weld-on application. It's a 1 3/8th inch diameter. Now folks, this straight spindle replaces a worn or damaged CE Smith Spindle on your trailer.
It's designed to be used for a direct replacement, but you can technically use this and build a custom axle if you so choose. It's weld-on. I highly, highly recommend even if you are a "welder", quote unquote. If you're using any kind of spindle welding, normally you would use a jig and a system that can hold everything perfectly level, those kind of things. So obviously, make sure you know what you're doing.
You wanna make sure that you're not getting stuff wobbling down the road and that kinda stuff. Now, it's sturdy steel construction. It's been machined from one piece. And again, it's a 1 3/8th inch spindle, and it's got a tape on it obviously and everything just like you would see. So, your bearings and everything will sit in right on there.

These spindles are great however you need to cut another 1/16 th inch off the ROUND section so they can fit inside a 3/16 th square axle tube. Each time I get them I have to have a machine shop cut 1/16 th off the ROUND section in order for them to fit. Let me know if you can do that for future orders. Thank you.
