Features to know about

Better Control on Slippery Roads: Diagonal Cable Pattern Keeps You Steady

When snow starts falling and the road gets slick, staying in control through turns can be tough. These Titan Chain cable chains use a diagonal pattern that gives you smoother handling and steadier traction when cornering or braking. Because a cable is always in contact with the road, you get better stopping power and fewer slips than with traditional ladder-style cables.

Stay Prepared Without Taking Up Space: Lightweight and Easy to Store

If you only need traction once in a while, these cables are perfect to keep in your trunk “just in case.” They’re compact, light, and come in a convenient zippered bag that fits easily under a seat or in a storage bin. You’ll have them ready whenever the weather turns, without losing space to bulky chains.

Smooth Ride with Low-Profile Rollers: Designed for Everyday Vehicles

Unlike thick chain links that can make your drive feel bumpy, these cables use low-profile rollers wrapped around tough wire cables. That setup gives you a smoother, quieter ride while still cutting through light snow and slush. They also meet SAE Class S standards, making them suitable for vehicles with limited wheel-well clearance.

Secure Fit Without Guesswork: Custom Rubber Tensioners Included

You won’t have to hunt for extra parts to tighten your cables. Each set includes custom rubber tensioners that keep the cables snug and centered on your tires. Just clip them on in a star pattern, and you’re set for a secure fit that stays in place mile after mile.

Step 4 of Titan Chain cable tire chain installation showing rubber tensioner attached in star pattern over the tire to tighten and secure the cables.

Built to Last Through the Season: Strong Alloy Steel Construction

These cable chains are made of durable alloy steel that stands up to repeated use in light snow. The material resists wear and helps the cables maintain their shape, so you can trust them when you need that extra bite on icy roads. With care and proper storage after drying, they’ll be ready for season after season of winter travel.

Step 1 of Titan Chain cable tire chain installation showing chains laid out flat on the ground to check for twists or kinks before fitting onto the tire.

Step 2 of Titan Chain cable tire chain installation illustrating connecting the rear cable ends behind the tire after sliding the chain into place.

Step 3 of Titan Chain cable tire chain installation showing the front cable being connected through eye hooks at the top and bottom of the tire.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Have used them yet but got a good feeli ng

Chains easily installed, and stored in zippered bag. As our shipping address must have been used previously by our son’s Boy Scout troop, the chain’s box arrived to great confusion as no ex-Scouts knew what as ordered by “the old man”. Got it though, thanks.

All is great with the products I bought.

by:

I just received these cable chains and of course have not had a chance to use them (actually hope I never need to use them). But, they appear to be top quality.

by:

I bought chains - they fit and seem like just the right size. The carry bag is good and they even had tighteners inside! I would give it a five star but I haven't actually used the cable chains yet so I don't know if I will have any issues - so far so good!

by:

Nice carrying case with instructions with pictures.

Solid chains and exactly as presented on website. Looking forward to trying out in the Rocky Mountains next week (ski trip).

by:

Fit was perfect. Worked great and above my expectations. Installation was a breeze which was ideal especially when trying to install in snowy conditions. Highly recommend this item.

by:

I bought these for an Audi SQ5. Turns out, they only fit in the back, there is no space, even for cables, in the front. On the rear, I had the cables snap twice within a day of driving, damaging my car. No thanks

by:

The product worked great, but after about 10 miles on a heavy snow packed road, one of the chain’s broke. Overall, very happy with the product but I bought four chains and only have three that are functional currently. The others held up well.

by:

As described.

by:

Easy to put on good quality the product came extremely fast, which was wonderful because the weather changed and we needed to get them very quickly. They perform very well in the snow at Mammoth.

by:

Excellent product. Easy to install.

by:

The chains arrived quickly and look great! They come in a nice storage bag. We have not had to put them on our new car yet but we are ready. We hope to carry them and never use them just like insurance.

by:

Received chains much earlier than I expected. etrailer is great to work with. Got notice when they shipped and confirmation when I received them. Watched their installation video and was able to install my chains easily. They fit perfectly and looking forward to hitting the mountain snow!

by:

Haven't used tire cables yet … but … did install one to check the fit and look. And the thing fit perfectly on my 2019 F150 with 245/70r17 tires. Even look pretty good too! I especially like that the cables can be put on as the truck sets - no need to lay them out and back over them. And the carrying bag is nice - keeps everything together and able to be stored under a seat, in the bed, or wherever. I thought about getting chains with v-bars … but didn't think I needed anything that aggressive - so the tire cables ought to do just fine in deeper snow, packed snow and maybe even on ice.

Great accessory for winter driving! I had to use the cables while hunting in the western mountains of Maine in mid November- and they gave my F150 2WD the traction it needed to navigate some logging roads caked with snow and ice. Highly recommend them for on-road vehicles. And, was able to install them without moving the truck!

  • Tire Cables that Fit Tire Size 235/55-19 of 2024 Kia Sorento
Hey Adam, so our tire chains are all organized by vehicle using the tire sizes we know the vehicle came with. We may not always get all of the sizes for every vehicle or sometimes people change tire sizes so a better way is to just use your tire size and match it with the chains you need. For a similar set of cables to what you referenced that does fit you'd want the # TC729DC.

Hey Michael, the Titan cable set part # TC735DC that you referenced does fit the tire size you have of 255/45-20. It does look like your vehicle can use tire chains like this which require lower clearance compared to other chains but I would still consult your owners manual or a Hyundai dealer.

I did a little research on your 2019 Audi SQ5 and it looks like you have P255/45R20 tires. The best chains for your limited clearance are the Titan Chain Diagonal Alloy Cable Snow Tire Chains # TC735DC. These cable chains require a minimum of 1.46 inches between the top of the tire tread and the wheel well and at least 0.59 inches between the tire's sidewall and the vehicle itself. • Snow Chain Options for 2020 Volvo XC60
The owner's manual for your vehicle states that chains aren't recommended for tires mounted on wheels larger than 18 inches in diameter. In many cases, vehicle manufacturers who list such prohibitions are fine with you using cable chains which sit much tighter to the tire and typically won't endanger suspension or brake components located to the inside of the wheels. I'd recommend checking with your Volvo dealer for clarification. If you get the okay for cables, I'd recommend the Titan...

  • Should Rubber Adjusters be Used When Installing Titan Cable Snow Tire Chains
Although they are not required, we do recommend using Rubber Tire Chain Adjusters that come with the Titan Chain Diagonal Alloy Cable Snow Tire Chains # TC735DC to ensure a more snug fit. The same case is with the Titan Chain Cable Snow Tire Chains # TC1022 that you referenced. The only difference is that these don't come with the adjusters so if you choose to end up using them I recommend going with part # TCOA1.
