Features to know about

Plug-and-Play Simplicity: Custom T-One Connector

Connecting a trailer's signal lights doesn't have to be complicated. This custom T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness makes the process straightforward and stress-free by plugging directly into your vehicle's existing wiring system. It's a simple, plug-and-play setup, so even if you're not a car mechanic, you can get your trailer ready in no time.

Effortless Compatibility: ModuLite Powered Converter

Bringing different systems in sync can be a headache. With the innovative ModuLite Power Converter, you can effortlessly match your vehicle's three-wire system with your trailer's two-wire setup. This powered module connects directly to your car battery to manage compatibility without overloading your vehicle's electrical system, ensuring your trailer's lighting works perfectly every time.

Versatile Connections: Supports 5-Pole, 6-Pole, and 7-Pole Adapters

Worried about needing different connections for various trips? This wiring harness comes with a 4-way flat connector, and it’s compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole, and 7-pole adapters. It gives you the flexibility to adapt to different towing needs without hassle, making it versatile for any trailer adventure.

Secure Your Wiring: Bonded 16-Gauge Wire with Dust Cap

Don't let weather and road conditions damage your setup. This harness is constructed with durable 16-gauge bonded wire and includes a dust cap to protect your 4-way flat connector. It's built to last, so you can tow with confidence, knowing your connections are secure and well-protected against the elements.

Prevent Electrical Strain: Direct Battery Connection

Overloading your vehicle's circuits is a thing of the past with this harness. It draws power directly from the battery, significantly reducing strain on your vehicle’s tail light circuits. This feature not only improves your car’s electrical system lifespan but also ensures a more reliable performance every time you tow.

    • Stop/turn lights: 2.1 amps per circuit
    • Tail lights: 5.6 amps per circuit

  • 1-Year limited warranty

Installation

  • This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your trunk, behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will need to remove the threshold panel and some of the trunk liner to access the harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead with the attached fuse holder up to your car battery. Connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on the battery and insert the provided fuse.
  • Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed within your trunk.
  • It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

  • A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
  • With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Hitch for my 2020 Explorer shipped immediately, was well made, and included the wiring. The cost for this hitch and the installation was less than the factory hitch, and it is does not require having to pull off a section of the rear bumper fascia every time you want to install the hitch.

by:
2021 Ford Explorer

For me the worst thing was running the power wire to the battery. Harness was plug and play and was able to conc by eal power module and wires behind pannels in the back. Was able to run through a body plug the 4 pin connector to the hitch and conceal. Glad I don’t have to do that again.

2013 Ford Taurus

Excellent trailer hitch and wiring harness. I am a novice at car mechanics and watched the etrailer Youtube videos and installed both pieces in a little over an hour. Products work perfectly and easy to install. Thanks!

Worked for a while, then fried out during my move with the uhaul. Wasn’t the uhaul, as the uhaul lights worked correctly when hooked up to another vehicle. Disappointed.

This wiring harness is confirmed as a fit for your Taurus. It does have a maximum amp of 2.1 amps per stop and turn lights circuit and 5.6 amps for the tail light circuit. It may just be the in-line fuse, I recommend checking that to see if a new fuse would correct the issue. Other than that most trailer wiring issues are related to a bad ground somewhere in the system. I have included a help article regarding this for your reference.

Works great. Video and guidance from etrailer was critical to installing. Nice quality. 2021 Ford Explorer.

  • Brake Controller Connector Location on a 2020 Ford Explorer
If your 2020 Explorer is equipped with the factory 7-way trailer connector, it will have the brake controller connector under the dash. The connector is located under the dash, above and to the right of where the driver's right knee would be. The connector will be rectangular, and will be gray in color. If you use a Tekonsha brake controller like the Tekonsha Primus, part # TK90160, the # 3035-P wiring adapter is the correct harness. If the vehicle doesn't have the factory 7-way, the connector...

  • Best Hitch for Towing a Trailer with a 2024 Ford Explorer
Hey Fischer, The best trailer hitch for your 2024 Ford Explorer is the etrailer # e29YR because it has a hidden crosstube and a matte black finish. This means you'll be getting a sleek looking hitch that also does a better job at hiding scratches than the hitches with a standard glossy finish. To wrap up your towing setup I recommend picking up the T-One Wiring # 118599 and the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # e38NR. Whenever Tekonsha wiring is available I always recommend going that route as...

  • Adding A Trailer Brake Controller To A 2022 Ford Explorer
For your 2022 Ford Explorer, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR. This brake controller will provide the sleekest finish and simplest to use interface. When installed, only the control knob is left exposed keeping your interior looking clean. If not present already, you're going to need a 4 flat trailer connector, and a 7 way trailer connector. This tees in behind your tail lights and then draws power directly from your vehicle battery. Then for the 7-Way you also need the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 which connects to the T-One and then has some wiring that is routed to the front of your Explorer. • Trailer Wiring and Hitch for 2020 Ford Explorer without Tow Package
