Weight Distribution Hitch and Suspension Enhancement for 2024 F-150 Towing 10,250 lb Boat Trailer

Question:

Hello, I have a 2024 f150, super crew ab, 4x4, 3.5l v6 eco boost and max tow package up to 13,500 lbs. I am looking to tow a 27 boat that when loaded down with a trailer will weigh 10,250 lbs with an estimated tongue weight under 1,025 lbs. I was thinking a weight distribution hitch and possible a product like timbren ses would be very beneficial. do you have any recommendations?

Hey Patrick! With a heavy boat trailer like that adding a weight distribution hitch (WDH) and some suspension enhancement will definitely be beneficial. However, instead of the TImbren SES # TFR1504E I recommend the SumoSprings # SS28UV. The SumoSprings will give you the support you need without the harsh impact on your unloaded ride quality.

I'm sure you already realized you will need an adapter for the boat trailer tongue since you looked at the # EQ95-01-5950. This is designed for Equal-i-zer weight distribution systems which I highly recommend. Based on that weights you provided you will need the following:

-Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37120ET (800 lbs - 1,200 lbs)

Equal-i-zer is definitely one of the best out there so you can count on the hitch to keep you level and keep that sway down while you're towing your boat. You will also need the # ALL643216 for hitch ball installation if you don't already have one.

What kind of boat do you have? If you have any other questions feel free to reply below.

Hey Patrick, did you decide to go with the SumoSprings and the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System for your towing setup? I'm curious to know how it worked out for you with your boat, as it could help others with similar towing needs.
