Best SumoSpring Option For 2019 Ford F-150 With 2,000 lb ATV In Bed

Published 07/29/2025

Question:

Question on Timeren / Sumosprings loading. If I have an ATV in bed of truck 2000 lbs then a 1500 lb capacity spring would bottom out and be useless? If I have a 6000 lb RV with tongue weight of 1000 lbs it would not bottom out and would support the RV application? Thanks

Hello Ron, thanks for reaching out. A 1,500 lb Timbren or SumoSpring would not be enough to support a 2,000 lb ATV in the bed. You would be overloading the springs and would not get the results you want.

A really good option for that are the SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs # SS95QR. These are 3,000 lb capacity which is enough for your ATV. Plus they have a 2-piece design so they don't create a rough ride when you aren't loaded down.

The Timbren # TFR1504E would also work for your application. They are 6,000 lb rated so they will do a great job supporting the ATV, but they will make the ride quite a bit more rough when you are unloaded. The SupoSprings are definitely what I recommend.

Thanks Jesse So what spring would you recommend for a 6000 lb RV trailer with a 1000 lb tongue weight. Ron K

@RonK Honestly, the SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs # SS95QR I mentioned above would work well for that. The 3,000 lb capacity would be plenty without overkilling it too much.
