Question:

I have a 2020 ford f150 crew cab that I want to put the timbrems on. The distance between the rear axle and the frame is only 7. I have read on line that fr1504E is 7inch and the other kits are close to 6. Any suggestions? Heavy loads occasionally and I pull my boat.

Hey Dave,

The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TFR1504E you referenced is a fit for your F-150, but it has a 6,000lb capacity so it'll give you an terrible ride unloaded ride quality. These would be great if you're heavy hauling all the time but for occasional use you'll definitely want to go with something lower capacity like the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SS28UV. These have a 1,500lb capacity to help with your varying loads and have a much softer progression compared to the Timbrens so it won't feel like you're hitting a brick wall when the leaf springs compress and the jounce spring hits the axle.

These microcellular springs can also be cut down in applications with limited spacing to make them fit as well.

Kevin, thanks for the reply. How would I go about getting the springs cut to the proper length? I live in Georgetown Texas. Any recommendations on someone here to do the work?

@DavidM I would not actually cut them until you absolutely have to. They can be cut with pretty much any saw. We have an installer locator that I've linked below that you can use to see what techs have signed up in your area for our installer program.
