Question:

I have a 2022 f150 2wd with a 2 inchlevel and I have the Timbrens installed, part FR1504E with no spacer but there is no gap between the bumper and the strike plate making for a stiff ride when not towing my trailer. Is that because of the 2 inch level up front? Is there a alternative to this setup? Thanks

Hey Dave, yeah if you have a leveling kit that lowered the suspension height that will cause your harsh ride quality problem as the suspension will essentially be riding on the Timbrens all the time. Everything we offer is for stock height vehicles BUT SumoSprings has told us that their kits like the part # SS28UV that fits your truck can be cut down. So based on that the SumoSprings would be what I would recommend. You would be able to trim these down if needed but they also are known to be a lot softer than Timbrens as well.

I was thinking about trimming down the Timbrens, do you think that would work?

@DaveH Timbren doesn't recommend that so I am not sure exactly how it would work/perform.

Also can you use them without the bottom plate on the axle so the spring would hit the axle and not the plate? Removing the plate would give me more clearance.

@DaveH That's a good question. It probably would be okay as there are some similar kits that work like that but we don't have any specific info on how well it might work for your truck.

I was leaning towards the Timbrens but I also have the rear leveling kit, along with the blocks removed ,on my 2023 F150, 4 x 4 Platinum. What are the dimensions of sumosprings. I don’t believe I’ll need to cut them since I still have plenty of room while not towing. Greg G.
