When snowplows, winches, or heavy bumpers weigh down the front end, these helper springs keep things level and controlled. Each insert uses an inner core of microcellular polyurethane foam that progressively stiffens as weight increases, giving the front suspension extra support without affecting normal ride comfort. Bought these for the front of my 2019 Honda Ridgeline. They did not fit at all, too small. However they went on the back ok so that’s where they are. Ordered another pair for the front. Fit them with another on line service. Hope they fit.
Installed these sumo spring spacers in our 2023 Promaster/ Roadtrek conversion van three weeks ago and just returned from a two week 2000 mile road trip with my wife. These spring spacers made an unbelievable improvement in general handling and highway speed handling around semi's, on and off ramps stability, cornering at intersections and dealing with crosswind conditions on the road. They were less and a $200 investment and they were great decision. While they were a little hard to insert into the springs, after watching several installation videos and soaping them up good after lifting each corner of the van, I was able to get them inserted in the springs and adjust them on the coil to where I wanted them at mid coil height. Great product!

They don't seem to be the right ones for my silverado 1500 4x4. Too much play between spring even without lifting vehical?

The instructions stated that when you install them that you put the bottom on and move up or down on the spring until top is snug and pop in bottom. On my truck even on the ground there is no area where this happens.

These don’t fit a 2024 expedition.
These springs did not really change the unloaded ride quality. They also added about 1/2 of lift to the front of my truck. I wasn't expecting that, but it worked out for me. I installed a 2 inch front leveling kit about a year ago and I wished I went with a 2.5 leveling kit.

These coil spring helpers are near perfect in every way and easy to install.
These do not not increase ride height in any meaningful, but instead both firm up a sagging coil spring suspension or one that that may be sprung a bit too soft from the manufacturer - as is the case with my chrysler pacifica.
When the Pacifica is either at full passenger load or when adding tongue weight to my hitch - the pacifica sags and is too bouncy... even over parking log speed bumps - it is sprung very softly from the factory.
I originally simply added the rear coil helpers, but after seeing how well they performed, I decided to put the front ones on as well. There are significant safety and enhanced drive-ability benefits having increasing suspension stability when a car is loaded down in any way.
There is barely any noticeable ride quality degradation when the Pacifica is unloaded as the spring coil helpers are not being engaged except under load.
Regarding installation - I used my band saw to cut off 1 inch from each spring so that the overlap was 3/4 inch when fully installed. Also, I used 4 quick squirts of spray Dawn dish soap prior to install - easy peasy...the spring helpers slid on without much fuss. I did use a large screw driver to assist seating the helper a bit, but installation was both easy and straight forward.
These are high quality urethane coil helpers and not simply less performing and durable rubber ones - which wears out much faster and do not perform nearly as well.
2009 GMC Sierra CC 2WD
It does take some time and sweat equity to install. I think some may have a harder time if both tires are not off the ground at once. Lifting only one side, the front sway bar may transfer some of that compression to the tire in the air possibly causing that spring to have less room between coils.
They work as advertised however may need not be for everyone. I like how I can take corners at higher speed as if it is on rails (I also have the rear sumos). No nosedive during emergency stops. Not too intrusive when driving on smooth pavement but over rough or broken road can be tiresome over time. I guess they took a little more "spring" out then I was hoping for.
I am considering taking them out and installing a larger front sway bar.
These seem to make a big difference on the sagging front end of my '08 Ram 1500. Tip: Use LOTS of dish soap and install on a warm, sunny day. My first attempt at installation was on a cold day and the springs were inflexible and would NOT go on. They went on easily when warm.
