Hi, everyone. Steven here with etrailer. Today we're looking together at our TorkLift SMARTSTEPS. Now, these are a five step 30-inch wide RV entry step, and from the beginning, I wanna kind of give you some measurements. These are designed for taller entryway, so about 34 7/8 inches up to 42 3/8 inches entry height. So ideal for big rigs and toy haulers primarily.
Now, these are gonna bolt up really fast and simple. There's no frame mods needed on your RV or camper. You simply use existing step mounting brackets along with this larger bracket here. And these are actually gonna be collapsible up underneath your entry doorway. So they're not gonna fold inside and block your door like some other models out on the market.
They're not gonna be tracking dirt and mud inside if it was raining, then some of them other models that flip inside, you're gonna be putting mud and dirt inside. You don't have to worry about none of that with these. And they hold an impressive 325 pounds. Keep in mind this is literally just leaning against my box here today and I'm a big hefty guy. As you can see, I'm 6'2", so these are really, really sturdy.
There's no give whatsoever. I'm really impressed with the TorkLift SMARTSTEPS. I've been doing these for years and I'm always impressed with the quality and everything. And coming from the top down, you can see the big tread width and depth and you have built-in grip here. And then if you look at these little fluorescent tapes, those are the GlowStep and I'll shut off the overhead lights.
You can actually see them glowing. So with as little as ten minutes of light on them, you can see them glowing and they do a pretty good job in the dark as far as being able to see where you're at at nighttime, getting back inside of the camper trailer, whatnot. So it's a very nice safety feature, as well. And the neat thing about these is that your feet down here at the bottom, they are adjustable. So there is a spring button here and there's about 10 to 12 different holes of adjustments. So you can get the legs out to make everything nice and level. And if you're paying attention at the beginning, I said a five step. And if you're counting, you only see four. Well, that fifth one's on the bottom. There's a lever down there. You simply pull up, pull the lever, and it folds right out, giving you that extra step and extra depth if so needed. Keep in mind that video's a little older model. The color black versus the stainless steel aluminum color could be slightly different than what we're looking at here today, obviously, but the concept is exactly the same. So back to the treads here, eight inches deep. The rise is 7 1/2 inches of rise. The width on the steps is 22 1/4 inches wide. And again, this fits between a door frame flange of 30 inches wide. Now, they do give you a bag of hardware and instructions outta the box and looks about three different Allen key or Allen tool wrenches there and the hardware. So, not a whole lot of hardware. This main bracket is gonna get installed and this is what the steps will actually hang onto whenever they're up in place. And everything here is powder coated, heavy duty. It's gonna, you know, protect it against corrosion, rust, all those good things. And they do have traction tape up here on the top. I know you can't see that 'cause it's black just like the frame itself. And back to the steps, again, aluminum, a stainless steel. You don't have to worry about rust. You don't have to worry about corrosion. And each of these steps is easily replaceable if for some reason you damage one. Let's say you, you know, forget to put something up, take off, whatnot, it's easy to replace. Now again, the way I'm gonna fold these up is slightly different than when it's hooked in place, obviously, because you would mainly go from the bottom up. I'm just gonna tilt this and show you from the top down. But literally because of the design, these basically just simply up or down, just like that. It is super, super simple to do and to manipulate. And now that I got 'em up here, I'll show you those legs and you can see that adjustment I was talking about, that push button pin here and then that leg could go up or down as needed. And then you got your lever to get that last step back out of place. (ladder clanks) And let's go ahead and put these back up. So again folks, these are the TorkLift SMARTSTEP GlowSteps.
