Very sturdy product. The only thing I would suggest, is that they offered an option for a straight vertical attachment. The only way the original angled installation would have worked on my trailer, would have been to angle it forward, towards the truck. Didn't give me enough clearance to feel comfortable. I've attached a few photos of what I welded together in order for the rack to work with my Rockwood Mini Lite. The extra height added to the installation didn't make it any more difficult to load the bikes. This modification at the factory would make it more user friendly for a wider variety of trailers. Would still highly recommend this rack!

BEWARE: NOT FOR USE WITH BIKES THAT HAVE DROP BARS OR BIKE RACKS. The Jack-It seems to be sturdy and well-constructed, and I give it bonus points for installing to an existing strong point on the trailer with a very minimal footprint - necessary on our 2021 Casita. We were pleasantly surprised that we could operate the emergency manual crank of our FIC electric jack even with the Jack-It base installed. However, the Jack-It was clearly designed for a very narrow subset of bikes. I tried to install two touring bikes with drop bars, racks, and cantilever brakes. The Jack-It is simply not wide enough to accommodate this sort of bike. We could not find a position where the handlebars on one bike would not rub or otherwise conflict with the other bike. If you're not careful, even the wide cantilever brakes rub on the Jack-It's vertical bars. I can't blame etrailer for not accepting a return of installed merchandise, and I knew I was taking a bit of a chance on this product, but I think the description of this product is not clear enough about these limitations. Expensive mistake.

I reached out to the manufacturer and they advised that the bike rack is designed to work with most bikes but may not work for all. It was suggested to try having the bikes face opposite directions.

Rock Solid!!

After some less than
successful attempts at hauling our bikes behind our camping trailer on a traditional bike rack, we ordered and installed a Lippert “Jack It” bike rack on the front tongue of the trailer. It bolts solidly and securely sandwiched between the trailer and the tongue jack. We have been thoroughly pleased with both the high quality of the rack and it’s solid performance!

The bikes hang by the wheels on hooks with locking straps on top, and are further stabilized by anti sway bars also strapped to the bike.

Multiple mounting holes in the “wings” provide ample options suitable for most bikes. The “Jack it” is suitable for both standard and and step through style frames as bikes are suspended by the wheels and not the frame.

Loading the bikes is not difficult (do the rear one first) and rest easy as your bikes are always in sight!

We also ordered a Lippert accessory, the “Bump It,” which allows you to transfer the “wings” section of the “Jack It” to your tow vehicle after your arrival. It’s a great way to expand your biking options at your destination!

5000 miles of travel with our bikes has proven the “jack it” to be a convenient, save and secure mode to take our bikes camping. It is as solid as the day purchased, no wear, no rust! We still love that we can see the bikes at all times! The short 3 step step ladder that we already carry with us makes loading and unloading our bikes for us retirement age campers easy. This was a great purchase!

Got here fast, quality piece of gear. Very sturdy. Did have to remove bubble level on jack stand but it wasn’t worth anything anyway.

Put bikes on had to make final adjustments, bikes ride well no movement. Only thing that would be nice is to see video of loading bikes, but so far all is good

Thank you for your review! You can see bikes being mounted in our video at the 6:38 mark:

Great piece, installation was smooth amd easy. Hoping it holds up as well as it looks and went together. Will update after a couple of trips. Only issue was the cheap hardware, 3 bolts and lock washers are soft, low quality. Luckily for me I went to my bolt bit and grabbed 3 good quality ones. There's alot of stress on those 3 holding the bike rack up and the jack.

It seems like a pretty good deal. I think it is well-built, was easy to install, shipped quickly, and was a reasonable price.
It can be a little tricky to hang the bike on the rear side by yourself (get a helper), but hanging the front one is pretty easy.
Their website has a lot of good info, especially the videos.

I don’t know why the 45 degree angle is in the rack. It won’t work with my camper. I ordered a straight piece from my camper dealer but it’s been back ordered since May. Why can’t I just get the straight piece from Etrailsr?

You mentioned that your camper dealer ordered a straight piece for the bike rack. I am not familiar with this piece for this bike rack and wanted to know if you knew the part number that they ordered?

Installation was fairly easy, haven’t towed with bike installed yet, however the bike is very secure and was easy to put on rack. If you want a secure way to haul bikes this is the product for you. Just be sure and measure the height of your jack(top of trailer tongue to top of jack) so you order the proper one, Jack-it has 18.5” clearance and Jack-it 2 has 22.5” clearance for trailer jack.

Works Perfect! Have hauled bikes all over the US no problems what so ever
Tony - 09/11/2020

On my NuCamp Boondock teardrop trailer, had to get a welder to move slightly and remount the trailer jack, in order to make the Jack-It rack fit on the front trailer frame. Once I did that, it became a great bike rack for my trailer. Works a lot better than putting a rooftop bike rack on top of the trailer! much too high, and in the wind!

I would include picture, but when I got the email I was at the beach without the trailer. Maybe I'll add one later.

I purchased the rack to haul my bikes securely with as little bouncing around as possible. This bike rack does that and also has them located so that I can keep an eye on them during transit (as opposed to being mounted on the rear bumper of my RV. The biggest draw back is loading the bike that sits closest to the RV. I have found that it works best to use my tailgate or a ladder to give me some extra height while loading and unloading. The outside bike can easily be loaded and unloaded from the ground.

As usual, this product from was exactly as advertised, and works very well. The Jack-It 2 bike rack took only minutes to install onto the front of my travel trailer, and holds two bikes securely and safely. I have yet to drive the trailer with the bikes attached, but with the secure straps that even lock the wheels in place, I foresee no problems with it. It does what it's supposed to do. Some nice features include the ability to quickly and easily remove the two "wings" with the locking pins so that only the supporting frame remains in place when not in use. If you have the correct trailer for its application, there is enough clearance for the propane tank(s) and between the jack and the trailer. The bolts that hold it together are also pinned with cotter pins for extra safety, and can also be used with a customer-supplied 1/4" lock instead for added security from theft. Installation requires removal of the jack and using the three supplied screws and washers in place of the original, but the directions do not mention that you must mount your trailer onto the tow vehicle hitch (or support the tongue some other way) since you will be removing the jack). This seems obvious, but I thought I'd mention it for those in a hurry who may forget that important step or if you've never done this before. It comes with two extra swing stop pegs to optionally lock both wheels in place, and I went ahead and used all of them. For my 2019 R-Pod, the wires that supply power to the electric jack were just long enough to allow removal and re-installation if you slide the bottom wire zip-tie up the jack tube - no need to cut the ties. Install the electric jack through the front of the Jack-It frame, not the back so you can clear the power jack head. Then reinsert through the hole in your tongue. As other reviews mention, adjusting two bikes for proper fit was the biggest challenge.

Great. Ive been carrying my bikes around with it and so far, so good.
Dennis - 10/25/2021

The Jack-it Bike rack performed as presented by etrailer. It allows my bikes to ride smooth on the tongue of my RV. I am very satisified in its overall performance. It is well worth the cost knowing when I get to my destinations, the bikes will still be on board.

Installed easily, although you will most likely have to cut the cable to the jack if it is a Lippert jack, because the jack only slides into the jack-it base from the front. In the first trip with bikes, the bike rack worked exactly as advertised although I had to re-torque the three jack bolts when I returned. On my Grand Design Imagine trailer, the height of the rack when installed makes placing a bike on the rear hooks impossible for a short person without a stepladder, so since I have enough height to clear my truck bed, I reversed the direction of the stinger that supports the bikes and pointed it towards the truck rather than the trailer (manufacturer says this is OK to do). Changing the support arm orientation allows me to stand on the tailgate to install and remove both bikes effortlessly.

Well built. Installs pretty easy. The only downside for me is the rack is fairly high and a real pain to hoist up bikes to secure in rack. All else seems to be fine.

Delivery took a long time but item was finally shipped after I sent an email. The bike rack is great for our bikes on the front of our trailer. The install would have been easy had it not been for the power tongue jack wires that had to be disconnected to get the jack off to put the power tower under it. We were hot and tired after the install so haven't loaded the bikes yet. It looks like there's plenty of space between rack and trailer front though for the bike pedals and such. Hopefully this will be easier than trying to load bikes in short bed truck.

Easy installation. I've traveled over 800 miles with this with no issues. Excellent bike rack. Keeps my bike secure.

One year later and the bike rack is doing well. A minor bit of corrosion that can be handled with a wire wheel and spray paint. This unit has been exposed to the weather the entire year.
Ramon - 08/29/2022

This product does what it proports to do carry bikes. In addition it works as a clothes rack and canopy tie down. It was easily moved from our former unit to the newer one. The construction quality is good . I recommend it.

With a 1966 Aistream, we were limited on our options on how to travel with our bikes. Rear bumper mounts were not an option due to the risk of trailer separation and the airstream rear mount would need to be retrofitted since it was designed for their modern trailers. It was also very $$$.

When I came across this bike carrier that mounts under the jack, it looked promising but I still wasn’t sure I had enough space to clear the peddle and handle bars on the inboard bike. I finally pulled the trigger and figured I could have a fabricator make the necessary adjustments if needed.

It fit perfectly with no modifications necessary and had at least 6” of clearance between the trailer and inboard bike.

What is even more impressive is the team at eTrailer. I originally bought this from a competitor who said they had it in stock but after 13 days of not shipping and a big trip coming up, I canceled my order with them, placed it with eTrailer. I did pay for 2 day shipping but it was worth it because my relic of a trailer uses a different thread pitch for its mount bolts.

No longer packing the bikes in the trailer Is a game changer!!!

Bike rack was easy to install . Directions are straightforward. It took about an hour to complete the assembly and install onto my E-Pro camper. The most time consuming part of the install is that you have to get under your camper to disconnect the power tongue jack wire from the harness so that you have enough slack to slide the power tongue jack up and out to mount the jack -it bike rack on the frame. Then wire it back after installing. Wiring is all zip tied and in a wire bundle. Quality is good and it carries 2 adult bikes fine.

This was incredibly easy to install. I do wish it had better pictures in the instructions, but overall they did a good job of explaining what needed to be done.

The rack itself worked great on our first trip! As mentioned in the video, it does move a little bit going down the road, but wasn't anything to worry about. We did only take a child's bike, so not sure about adding a second one on there.

I do recommend following their advice on how hard to pull the straps around the wheels, as it makes the bike feel more secure.

We look forward to continue using it on future trips!

Set it up today with the optional Bump-It attachment and test drove it w ith 2 bikes after quite a bit of time setting it up (which was completely expected). With our bikes it takes very particular alignment of wheels and pedals to successfully put them on but felt very solid at normal freeway speeds. Am looking forward to our next trailer vacation!

I have actually only temporarily put the bike rack on my trailer because it is still in winter storage. But from what I can tell and see, it really feels solid and is well made. I hope to set it up with bikes in the next 2 or 3 weeks to make sure it will work, but so far it looks awesome. I will take photos then. I tried putting a rack on the back of the trailer and it was too much weight with the spare tire. So I hope this works better.

it worked very well, but we had to adjust our bikes to fit the frame. We didnt use many of the extra rack pieces because they did not hit our bikes at the correct spot. But once we got them on the rack, they seemed to ride high but very well.
Lee - 02/10/2022

Received the Jack It Bike Rack and installation was a breeze. I love the fact that all that unused space in front of our travel trailer now has a very practical purpose. Loaded up our bikes, ready to get on the road and go camping.

Great addition to our travel trailer. Love having bikes in front of trailer so i can see them and takes away extra weight on back. Makes putting bikes on/off quick and easy!

  • Is Jack-It 2 Bike Rack for A-Frame Trailers a Universal Fit
The Jack-It 2 Bike Rack for A-Frame Trailers # LC429756 is considered a universal fit and there is no way for us to know if it will work specifically on any particular year, make or model of trailer but I can tell you exactly how to figure it out by taking some very easy measurements. It is very likely the Jack-It will work on your trailer but you just need to ensure your jack has a 2-1/4 inch diameter outer tube (which is standard) and there is at least 22-1/2 inches of clearance from...
