Which Cushioned Pin Box is Best MORryde Goosetec, B and W or Gen-Y Executive

Updated 05/21/2026 | Published 05/17/2026

Question:

Hello, I am hoping to get some information or recommendations on a 5th wheel gooseneck type hitch. I am looking at a GenY Executive, Moryde Goosetech, and the new BW gooseneck. I expect to get my new 2026 Solitude 417 kb with the Moryde independent suspension in a couple weeks. Dry weight is listed at 15500, and loaded GVWR is 19000, listed pin weight is 3200 Lbs. I will be adding a washer, dryer, and Onan 5500 generator of which both will be on the front of the fifth wheel adding to my pin weight. I will be towing with a Ford F350 dually. I will be trying to reduce stress on the frame as well as decreasing chucking. I would appreciate your professional experience and knowledge in guidance, Thank You, Tom

Hey Tom, this is a really great question but we had an affiliate who tried all of the newer cushioned fifth wheel to gooseneck adapters and he said the MORryde Goosetec like the part # MR47MV provided the smoothest ride quality. This would be what I would recommend for your 2026 Solitude 417 kb if you can confirm for me that you have a Lippert 1621 style pin box installed on it. EDIT we confirmed it is a 1621.

The 417 kb comes with a Moryde pin box with the Lippert 1621 profile. I expect to be close to the 19,000 lb gvwr, so I understand that I need the MR47MV, correct?

@TomD Yes the part # MR47MV would be what you'd need! Thanks for getting me that info!

Only pulled it 1 time since installing it but I can tell you I should have swapped it out sooner. I can say it is the smoothest trailer I’ve pulled now
