Features:

  • Roof vent with fan moves air in and out of your RV, camper, or enclosed trailer
    • Vent allows air to circulate while your RV remains locked and secure

    • Exhausts air out
    • Circulates air like a ceiling fan when the vent is closed
  • Flush-mounted keypad on vent allows you to turn the fan on and off and set the fan speed
  • White-colored dome (or lid) is made of high-density polypropylene
    • Seamless, low-profile appearance when closed
  • Manual lift design has 2 arms to support the dome and keep it open
    • Manual knob lets you operate dome
  • Bug screen keeps insects out and is easy to remove for cleaning or maintenance
  • Fuse-protected, ball bearing motor is sealed to keep out dust, dirt, and moisture
  • Rubber weather seal helps prevent leaks when vent is closed
  • Molded-in mounting flange is constructed of UV-resistant ABS plastic
    • Smooth edges won't cut you during installation
  • Mounting tabs on flange allow for no-drill, tool-free installation of FanMate vent cover (sold separately)
  • White interior trim piece (or garnish), insulated electrical connectors, and hardware are included for installation
    • Roof sealant sold separately

    • Black wire is power

Variable-Speed Fan

MaxxFan Plus Fan Motor

The 12-volt, variable-speed fan operates in manual mode. You can choose from 4 different speeds to increase or reduce the airflow as needed.

This fan also exhausts stale air out of your RV. To enter ceiling fan mode, close the vent while the fan is still running. The fan then circulates the air inside your RV like a ceiling fan.

The fan has a fuse-protected, ball bearing motor that is sealed to keep out dust, dirt, and moisture.

Flush-Mounted Keypad

Keypad for MaxxFan Plus

The flush-mounted keypad on the vent enables you to operate the fan, including turning the fan on or off. You can also control the fan speed.

Manual-Lift Dome with Twin Arms

MaxxFan Plus Dual Arms - Manual

The dome on this roof vent is constructed of durable high-density polyethylene. When it's closed, the dome provides a seamless, low-profile appearance that blends into the roof of your RV.

Unlike a dome that has only 1 arm, this manual-lift dome is supported by 2 sturdy arms so that it will not flutter during high winds or while you are driving.

MaxxFan Plus Manual Knob

And a manual hand knob is built into the underside of the vent to allow you to open and close the dome. Pull the knob outward, turn it to where you want it, and push it in to lock the dome into place.

Removable Bug Screen

MaxxFan Plus Bug Screen

This vent has a bug screen that helps keep insects and debris out of your RV. It is secured to the vent with 4 built-in retainer clips. These clips make it easy to remove the screen for cleaning or maintenance. Just rotate the clips, and the screen will pop out.

Installation

The MaxxFan Plus vent fits standard 14" x 14" openings in the roof of an RV, camper, or enclosed trailer. A white interior trim piece (or garnish), insulated electrical connectors, and hardware are included for installation. The vent also has a molded-in mounting flange that is lined with a rubber weather seal, which helps prevent leaks. Roof sealant (sold separately) is required for installation.

To install, connect the two wires on the vent to your RV's electrical system. The black wire is for power, and the white wire is for ground. Then insert the MaxxFan Plus into the opening in the roof and mount the flange to the roof. To finish, trim the garnish as needed to fit the thickness of your roof and install it.

MaxxFan Plus With FanMate Cover

For extra rain protection, install a MaxxAir FanMate vent cover (sold separately) using the molded mounting tabs located on the flange. The tabs are designed to align with the integrated brackets on the FanMate, allowing for a no-drill, tool-free installation. These tabs also have rubber inserts that prevent water from seeping in under the flange.

  • Low Profile Roof Vent Recommendation for Camper
The lowest profile roof vent we have that has a fan built into it was the MaxxFan Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00A04301K which when closed sticks up 4-1/4 inches from the roof it's installed on. (edit: now the lowest profile is the part # MA00-04301M which sticks up 2-7/8 inches). You'd have to measure to be sure that would fit under your roof rack or not.

  • Is Butyl Tape Needed When Installing MaxFan Roof Vent
When installing the MaxxFan Roof Vent # MA00A04301K that you referenced you will want to use butyl tape on the vent edges in addition to the sealant that you will apply around the unit to cover up bolt holes and any other areas that might lead to a leak. I have attached a sample vent installation on a different model vent just so you can get a better idea of the process. We do have the Roof Vent Installation Kit # 344270KITW available that includes a 10.1 oz bottle of sealant, a 60 foot...

  • What Is The Difference Between MaxxAir MaxxFan Standard Roof Vent and Mini Roof Vent
The difference between the MaxxFan Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00A04301K and the MaxxAir MaxxFan Mini Roof Vent # MA00-04301M is the height of the fan and the roof thickness they will fit. The mini roof vent extends 2-7/8" above roof when closed while the standard Maxxfan Roof Vent extends 4-1/4" above the roof when closed. The mini roof vent also fits roofs 1" - 6-1/2" thick while the standard fits roofs 2" - 6-1/2" thick. Both models have a 4 speed option, manual lift and fit 14W X 14L...

  • What Powered Kitchen Fan Assembly do You Have to Replace My Fantastic Fan in My 2002 Newmar?
Hello Daryl, All of the fans that we carry are designed to fit into the standard 14" by 14" opening. The most cost effective option we have for a powered fan is the one you were already looking at, the MaxxFan Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - Manual Lift - 4 Speed - White # MA00A04301K. • RV Roof Vent Recommendations, One with Rain Sensor and One that is Manual Lift
Hey Charlie, the MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan, Thermostat, and Remote # MA00-04500K is what I recommend for a roof vent that is quiet and has a rain sensor like you are looking for. Then for a manual lift roof vent the MaxxFan Roof Vent part # MA00A04301K would be a great option. Then for covers for both you could use the part # MA00-955001 which was designed to be used with MaxxFans like what you have. The tallest roof vent cover we offer in white is going to be the MaxxAir FanMate RV and Trailer Roof Vent Cover part # MA00-955001 which is about 10-1/4" at its highest point. I will say that most of the auto-open roof vents will stop raising when they sense resistance so you may still be able to use the above or the Camco Aero-Flo RV Roof Vent Cover w/ Swing Open Lid part # CAM40421 that you referenced. However, if your roof vent does not stop opening when sensing resistance then your...

  • Roof Vent Recommendation For A 1978 VW Adventurewagen
Instead of going with the MaxxFan Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00A04301K mentioned before, I suggest taking a look at the: -Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat # FV803350 instead. This roof vent is designed to fit RV, camper, and trailer roofs up to 4" thick, unlike the MaxxFan Deluxe you mentioned which will fit roofs 2"- 4-1/2". Additionally, this fan is also reversible, and the variable speed fan offers two modes of operation that allow you to boost or reduce airflow...

Hey Wilma, thanks for reaching out! I honestly don't know why your MaxxFan Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00A04301K is giving off a red glow, but it likely has to do with what's on the top part of the cover. Are you seeing this throughout the day, or just in the mornings and evenings?

You are correct and all of the settings of the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan, Thermostat, and Remote # MA00-07000K that you mentioned are correct. The powered lift can be turned off to allow you to manually lift the lid, this is thermostatically controlled, and due to the lid design it could be open and vent while raining. If your MaxxFan Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan like the part # MA00A04301K that you were looking at suddenly stopped working I recommend using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to see if power is getting to the fan. The MaxxFan Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00A04301K needs a voltage no higher than 13.1v. Anything over 13.1 can cause the fan to not operate correctly or at all. So to answer your question. It is 3/16" thick, we do recommend that you use butyl tape that is at least 3/16" thick. You will also want to use some LaSalle Bristol XTRM Universal Self-Leveling Sealant # 34427034145-1...
