Question:
Do you need Butle tape for install or just the sealant?

When installing the MaxxFan Roof Vent # MA00A04301K that you referenced you will want to use butyl tape on the vent edges in addition to the sealant that you will apply around the unit to cover up bolt holes and any other areas that might lead to a leak. I have attached a sample vent installation on a different model vent just so you can get a better idea of the process.
We do have the Roof Vent Installation Kit # 344270KITW available that includes a 10.1 oz bottle of sealant, a 60 foot roll of butyl tape, and the required hardware.

Yeah, I forgot to use the dang Butyl tape. So, i have an vent adapter which is adhered to the van with 3M 5200 sealant. Then the fan flange is on top this is where i should have used the Butyle Tape. I then sealed it off with Decor Lap Sealant. Do i need to scrape this stuff off and start all over? haha
