The built-in landing gear extends from the bottom step to the ground so the stairs feel solid underfoot every time. Each leg adjusts independently to match uneven ground, and the large rectangular footplates keep the steps from sinking into soft dirt. With a 375 lb weight capacity, the aluminum and stainless steel construction holds steady without flexing or wobbling.
Glow tape on each step edge charges in just 5 minutes of light and glows for up to 10 hours after dark. You don’t need wiring or batteries—just natural or artificial light. The glowing edges outline every tread so you can see your footing clearly when heading in or out after sunset.
Each 20" wide x 8" deep tread has a built-in SureGrip surface that gives your shoes or boots solid traction, even in wet conditions. Combined with the 7-1/2" drop/rise spacing, the steps feel natural to climb and give pets or kids stable footing too.
Aircraft-grade aluminum keeps the steps lightweight yet strong, while stainless steel hinges and hardware resist rust. The bushing bearings move smoothly and outlast standard riveted joints. Each piece can be unbolted for easy step removal or add-on if you ever want to expand your setup.
The pull-out scissor design collapses neatly when not in use, keeping the steps compact for travel or storage. The 21-1/2" wide mounting bracket secures the steps firmly, and when you’re ready to go, they fold up fast and stay put until the next stop.

These steps are a life saver. The steps that came with our camper are a death trap. I can't believe we didn't order these sooner! I highly recommend this product for anyone with a camper that has a high entry point. E-Trailer has been extremely helpful and professional and is what customer service should be like.
Great product super service. Would like to see an easier way to adjust the leg height. The buttons are very secure but hard to push.

Great service by etrailer.com, fast delivery. Paperwork/manual for the stairs in the box. The "Landing Gear" came in a sperate box with a manual for the stairs (second copy), but none for the "Landing Gear. Got on their website to look at pictures see how they fit to install them. Worked out.

These steps were a life saver. I knew when I bought my Camper that the steps is came with were and accident waiting to happen. The Glow Steps give me peace, they are very durable and they glow at night. They fold up when traveling and are easy to pull out for use.
I would recommend these to anyone.
These Torklift GlowStep Scissor Steps (6 step) with Landing Gear are excellent! I built a fixed platform top step to mount these so that we can use them to board our very tall houseboat when it's on the trailer in our yard. The steps attach approximately 50" off the ground, with the highest step about 48" off the ground, plus the top step of the platform I built, bringing us to the requisite 54" of height to climb aboard easily.
Much quicker, easier, and safer for our kids to go up and down than a ladder, especially when carrying objects like blankets, toys, or heavy propane cylinders. Best of all, I can fold them up out of the way to mow the lawn.
They're less wobbly than I thought they might be. At the top three steps, you can feel ever so slight flex, but nothing disconcerting that throws you off balance. And I trust the 325lbs. rated capacity. I weigh 190 and I jumped on them (gently), with very little flex and no sense they were in danger of buckling.
They were a little spendy with the landing gear, but worth it in my opinion for the safety and convenience they add for our needs. I would estimate the 6-step version with landing gear weighs ~40 lbs., but it feels lighter than that to carry (no problem to move them around). I was surprised that I had to install the Landing Gear legs myself when ordered this way, but it only took removal of four screws/nuts and about 15 minutes to replace the stock aluminum leg with the Landing Gear.
The Landing Gear is super nice. The legs are lighter than expected, and very easy to adjust, with swivel feet and multiple height settings to accommodate uneven terrain easily. Again, they're a little spendy but nicer than anything I could've built myself, and probably lighter and stronger too. What good are stairs if you can't level them properly for good stability, so I think they're a must-have.
All in all, very nice stairs and the best solution you're going to find of this collapsible/portable/lightweight type. Highly recommended!
I bought these steps for my slide in truck camper and they are the bomb. They are easy to install, super stable and very adjustable for uneven or sloped ground. Also, I didn't think it was a big deal to have the glow strips but they sure are a big help at night. I thought these steps were so great that I bought the scissor steps designed for my toy hauler camper as well and no more bouncy bouncy entering and exiting with the cheap factory steps.
The stairs are very solid and easy to install and remove. I was surprised that the the Landing Gear base was not preinstalled. Its a bit tricky because you have to slide the landing gear and two plastic washers in the slot in the stairs. Scotch tape and a little screwdriver will help to get everything lined up. Not really a big deal. Installing on the camper was easy. A generous fastener package is included to make it easy whether mounting into metal or wood. There's even a spring steel wire for pulling bolts in case you have no access from behind the mounting location. Bravo!

Easy install works great on my 2012 Arctic Fox
The 5 step Torklift steps work very well for our setup. We have a Ram pickup that is lifted and running 37" tires. Bought the steps for a Four Wheel Camper Hawk popup camper. The mount point for the stairs is 42" off the ground, so we needed a good solution for entry/exit, it's way too tall for us to use step stools or short ladders.
The steps were easy to install (took about 30 minutes total) and are very solid in use. The landing gear option for the base was a very good addition as we are almost always camped on uneven terrain. The landing gear is very adjustable with enough steps/stops so I can always get the steps level and solid.
Attaching and removing the steps is pretty quick. They weigh 31.5 lbs, so there's a bit of heft to them, but to be expected for something as heavy duty as these are.
Overall, my wife and I really like the steps after our first year of use. They are solid, the treads provide a good grip even when wet, snowy, muddy, or all of the above. The glow strips are nice too in the late evening or middle of the night and provide a good step guide.
The steps are great, easy to follow mounting instructions, but the quick response time and shipping from Etrailer was outstanding!
Replaced the standard Lance bumper step with these and getting in and out of the camper is so much better. The direct ground contact means no more flex when climbing in and out our camper. Even the dog noticed the change getting in and out. And the adjustable feet are great for en even ground to keep the steps in place.
The install took some creativity because the supplied fish wire was about 18 inches too short for my application. I added a 24 inch piece of wire to the supplied one and it was easy after that.
These are quality steps and we love them! We made the mistake of purchasing a cheaper style and they ended up bowing in the middle due to poor design and construction. That will not happen with these! Better made, better design, and glowing in the dark is a huge plus!
Easy to use I had to use nuts and bolts to help stairs reach the 350 lb. The lag bolts pulled out under heavy weight.

I have purchased a ton of accessories made by TorkLift that I purchased from/through etrailer. TorkLift Fastguns, frame mounted truck camper tie-downs, upper and lower StableLoads and last year I replaced my factory RV steps with these TorkLift GlowSteps. I had a problem fitting the “scissor steps” to my truck camper because my measurements fell in between the measurements nessesary for three-step set and a two-step set of stairs. After much debate I purchased the 3 step set and it turned out that the 2 step GlowSteps actually fit my application much better. etrailer customer service assisted me making the exchange as inexpensive and fast as possible. We as consumers have countless retail outlets to purchase from online from but it is good customer service that keeps us using and supporting the same business repeatedly. etrailer?
