  • Correct Hose for the Camco Olympian Wave 8 Catalytic Safety Heater
Yes, we do! The Camco Olympian Wave 8 Catalytic Safety Heater item # CAM57351 has a 3/8" SAE flare fitting. The shortest hose we have that connects to a propane tank is the 6' long Low-Pressure LP Gas Regulator item # CAM57703. We also have the 12" item # CAM57721.

  • Furnace Recommendation for Custom RV that Started Out as Forest River Sunseeker
Hey Charles, we have RV furnaces like the Dometic RV LP Gas Furnace # DMC47SR that would work great but this does need to have access to outside air for combustion air intake and for the exhaust. These are all basically the same dimensions though and setup the same so if the part # DMC47SR isn't something that would work you could use something like the Camco Olympian part # CAM57351 which doesn't require venting. This wouldn't be quite as powerful though as it's rated for up to 8k btu...

  • Is My Camco Wave 8 Heater Burning Inefficiently
I am not sure how your Camco Olympian Wave 8 Catalytic Safety Heater for Large RVs, part # CAM57351, is adjusted. If you are burning propane at 0.18 lbs/hr, that rate is almost 50% less than the 1/3 lbs/hr consumption rate that Camco says you should expect. I do not think you have anything to worry about. I have included a video demo link below.

  • Thermostatically Controlled RV Heater
The Camco Olympian Wave 3 Catalytic Safety Heater for Small RVs part # CAM57331 does not come with a thermostat. I am not really sure how that would work on a propane heater as such but we do have an electric heater with a built-in thermostat, the Arcon Compact Ceramic Heater with Tip-Over Safety Switch part # AR64409. However, this would not produce nearly as much heat as the Camco Olympian Wave 3 Catalytic Safety Heater for Small RVs. Please note the Camco Olympian Wave 3 Catalytic Safety...

  • Where to Install Olympian RV Heater and How Long will 14 Gallon Tank Last
The mounting location for the Camco Olympian Heater part # CAM57351 really depends on where you'll want the heat the most. You could put it in a central location so that the whole RV gets heat overall or if you think you'll want it the most at night maybe the bedroom. With continuous use from a 14 gallon tank you'd see about 42 hours of heat roughly at a medium setting. Maybe a little longer.

  • Longer than 12 Foot Long Feed Hose for Camco Olympian Wave 8 Catalytic Safety Heater
12 feet is the longest hose we have with a regulator on it like the part # CAM57721 that you mentioned but you could use a second hose with this to get a longer overall hose. For example you could connect the # 100040-144-MBS to the # CAM57721 and you'd have a 24 foot long setup.

  • Does Camco Olympian Wave 8 Catalytic Safety Heater Need to be Vented
I reached out to my contact at Camco regarding the Olympian Wave 8 Catalytic Safety Heater # CAM57351 and he said that the unit doesn't require a dedicated ventilation system, but they do recommend cracking windows open that are across from each other while the heater is running. This is just to create some cross ventilation and it's all that is needed to ensure safe operation. I have attached a short video review that you can check out as well.

  • Troubleshooting A Camco Olympian Wave 8 Space Heater That Keeps Blowing Out
If your Camco Olympian Wave 8 Catalytic Safety Heater # CAM57351 keeps blowing out when people pass by it then it could be a faulty thermocouple, which can be replaced with a like size from your local hardware store. You could also have a gas pressure issue if the regulator for the gas line is clogged. If it doesn't want to stay on past low/medium then that would likely be caused by low gas pressure. A replacement hose/regulator like # CAM57721 would likely solve the issue.

  • Do I Need a Separate Low Pressure Regulator for a Camco Olympian Wave Heater
Yes, you will need to use a low pressure regulator with the Camco Olympian Wave 8 part # CAM57351 but that is what the Camco Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # CAM59323 is. Therefore, if you have the heater tied in after the above regulator then you won't have any issues. In order to attach the Camco Olympian Wave 8 to the manifold on your trailer you are most likely going to need the MB Sturgis High Pressure Propane Hose part # 100383-36-MBS for 3' long, part # 100040-72-MBS...

The dimensions of the Camco Olympian Wave 8 Catalytic Safety Heater for Large RVs # CAM57351 are 15" long x 4" wide x 21-1/4" tall. There isn't an exact set safe clearance stated with this heater but Camco strongly recommends having a certified tech handle the install of this to insure you are compatible with all local codes. Beyond that you really need to use your best judgment and you'll be fine. I attached a review video for more info on this as well.

  • Issues When Lighting The Camco Olympian Wave 8 Catalytic Safety Heater
Thanks for your question, Ann. I will be honest, I am not completely sure what you mean by "puff of gas", but I can tell you with certainty that when it comes to the Camco Olympian Wave 8 Catalytic Safety Heater # CAM57351, random "puffs of gas" are not good. This could be due to a bad regulator, but there would really be no way for you to test this other than trying a new regulator. It could also be due to debris in the gas tube of the heater which has built up over time. Obstructions...

  • Troubleshooting A Camco Olympian Wave 8 LP Heater That Won't Stay Lit
Hey Tony, Since you're saying it won't stay lit it's likely either a lack of LP pressure or a bad thermocouple. I would start by ensuring the tank it's connected to is full and then test the hose and regulator with another appliance to see if the hose is the issue. I've personally ran into issues with propane hoses in the past where they won't allow enough LP through to fuel the appliance and had to swap them out. The regulator you're using may also need to be adjusted to meet the Olympian's...
