Wind noise can get old fast on long drives. These aero-style crossbars have an aerodynamic profile designed to help cut down on drag and noise. The split rubber strips in the top channels keep air moving smoothly around the bars, reducing whistling and vibration while you’re on the road. You’ll still hear the wind, but it’s much more manageable and less intrusive.
These bars make it simple to gear up for any outing. You can attach a cargo box for road trips, clamp on kayak cradles for summer fun, or mount ski carriers when winter hits. The top channels accept channel-mount accessories, while the bar shape also works with clamp-on gear. That flexibility means you can use the attachments you already own or easily add new ones later.

Review of Entire set: After a year of using this, it still works very well. Easy to take on and off your car and make slight adjustments if needed. Only maintaining is really just cleaning it which is simple enough. No issues with lockingunlocking with the keys. It has definitely helped saved space for my tiny Honda Civic.

I can see that you got the 52 inch Thule square bars. The square bars are known to whistle compared to the aerodynamic cross bars. I recommend the Thule AirScreen XT part # TH22WV to divert the wind up and over the cross bars to eliminate some of the wind noise.

Most of the time whistling occurs because the rubber strip is not covering the whole channel. You can find installation tips here in the attached expert answer. There will be some wind noise as with all brands of roof racks. Wind fairings greatly reduce that by adding an aero-dynamic ramp allowing the wind to flow over the roof rack. The Thule Wingbar Evo crossbars that you purchased are actually designed to act as a fairing so one would not be needed. You could still get one if you wanted to try it out. This one would be the best match for you: item # Y05018.
