These 59" long aluminum crossbars are built to take on serious cargo. With a 220 lb weight capacity, they’re strong enough for kayaks, canoes, or camping gear. The heavy-duty design feels solid on the roof and doesn’t flex under load, so you can travel knowing your gear stays put mile after mile.
Each square bar includes a top channel that fits Rhino-Rack contractor-grade accessories like ladder rollers, load stops, and eyebolts. The rubber strips inside those channels add grip and help reduce shifting as you drive. Whether it’s a kayak cradle or a cargo stop, the channel system makes it easy to build out your rack just the way you need.
Sliding your gear into place shouldn’t risk scratches or movement. The built-in rubber strips cushion your load and give it extra traction in the channel. That bit of slip resistance goes a long way when you’re cinching down heavier items or driving over rough roads.
The 2500 Series legs include lockable cover plates that secure the rack to your roof. Once tightened and locked, the system stays firmly attached, adding peace of mind when you leave the vehicle unattended. Solid footing and simple protection make this setup ready for everyday use or long hauls.
The aluminum construction keeps weight low but resists rust through years of outdoor exposure. The kit includes 2 crossbars, (4) legs, and a custom fit kit—all covered by Rhino-Rack’s warranties (limited lifetime on the crossbars; 5-year limited on legs and fit kit). Two items I received surprised me when I unpacked the box were the rails because they were not black like I saw in the picture, and the rubber insert that I am having a hard time sliding in the rail. Should this rubber insert have come already installed in the rail or is there a top on how to put in with ease?
The rack fit well and was easy to install. Seems to be made well. The problem is the amount of road noise. I never even put the basket on. It was so loud, it roared. I repositioned it several times but the noise was way too much and I finally just removed it. I spent a lot of money for the rack and the basket and now they are in storage. I wish it would have worked out better because I thought it looked really good.
These all fit well. Have not put anything on the rack yet but the clips and pads fit my F-150 roof well. The pads have a step down that fit into the small gutter on the side above the door. Only comment is that the roof line is curved where the pads go so they are not perfect.
Well engineered rack that fits my Ram 2500 crew cab well. A bit of wind noise at highway speeds. I have the heavy duty cross pieces with a square cross section.
This is my second Rhino-Rack. They go on very easily and hold the bikes/kayaks and even an extension ladder very well....thanks for a great product
Excellent customer service. First set of crossbars was delivered to the wrong address and a second set was mailed out to us arriving in a week.
Mounts great to my F150. Carries my canoe perfectly. With kayak attachments it carries those well. Nice to have a roof option to keep the bed open
I don't normally write reviews but this one was asked for by Carol via email notifying me that my rack had just been delivered. I also received emails when my package was ordered and again when shipped. It was nice to have expectations met in these times. The rhino rack was exceptional quality and installed fairly easily. Received my Rhino Rack in a timely manor and the install went with no issues. etrailer kept me up to date on the shipping via their web site.
My order arrived sooner than I expected, which was great. The assembly was easy. The installation was trial and error as the crossbar instructions did not list my 2014 F-150 so I had to make some adjustments to the leg position for the racks to sit right. There were only three rubber buffer strips for each 59 inch bar which left gaps in the top which produce a whistle even at low speeds. The whistle is very ennying as I can here it even with the windows rooled up.
The Rhino Rack 2500 was a bit of a challenge to assemble and mount on my F150. But it is a beauty - rugged and well made. I also bought the Thule Hullavator kayak assist rack and was able to fit it onto the Rhino cross bars with minimal trouble. I feel great about the rack system, and appreciate the help from etrailer's team.
This rack worked out great... I installed in on a 2017 Ford F-150. We drove 6 hrs through wind and rain with a SUP and Tandem Kayak on top. It really took a beating in a storm the whole way. One bracket was a little loose and shifted because of the wind on the Kayak, but it held together. Super happy with Rhino rack!
This kit is easy to slap on and sturdy enough to balance my skis and snowboards. I recently used the Rhino Rack on a three hour drive to a ski resort and had no issues.
The product and service provided by etrailer were both excellent. I ordered the 2500 Vortex kit complete and the ordered the Rhino-Rack S606 Vortex Underbar Retainer (anchor spot) I think is a necessity. Mounted on 2009 F150 Super Crew.

I was in a roof rack jam. There was a national shortage of the rack I needed for my car and our summer vacation was a week away. I went to etrailer.com when I couldnt find the roof rack anywhere else on the web. Another website actually suggested that they might have what I needed.

Great product everything fit perfectly. With the heavy duty bars almost all the hardware for anything you put on the rack is too short
Ordered a Rhino Rack for my 2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali. Rack arrived in very good shape and all items were there. Installing at this time and see no problems ahead.

This fit kit perfectly fits my 2013 Ford F-150 FX4 with sunroof. This kit secures my Rhino Rack 2500 series rack legs to the door frames. My doors open and close normally, with no damage to either door or body paint.

This rack works perfectly on my Nissan Versa for carrying my two Perception Sound 9'6" kayaks. The Rhino-Racks look good to me. The kayaks can rest directly on the rubber pads on the rails, unlike the Yakama racks I had in the past that had bare pipe rails. Also, I expect I can buy parts to adapt this product to a different car without having to buy new towers. I am sorry there are not hooks or loops to attach bungees when carrying lumber. They are noisy in the wind, but less so when carrying the kayaks.
