Question:
Is it possible to mount this on the cab of my 2012 f150. There are no existing mounting rails or wholes to mount to. It looks like I would need to drill through the top of my cab. A little scary.

That's exactly how the rails for the Rhino-Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells # Y02-490B installs; by drilling through the roof of the thing you are installing them on. This system is typically used for the top of camper shells so if you're talking about the regular cab of your 2012 Ford F-150 then I recommend going with a roof rack that is designed to custom-fit to your cab so that you don't have to modify anything. For a Rhino-Rack setup I recommend the Vortex Aero system which uses the following:
Vortex 59" Crossbars - # RRVA150B-2
2500 Series Legs - # RRRLKVA
Fit Kit - # DK150
Please note that this setup is designed for the SuperCab and SuperCrew Cab models of you F-150. If you have a Regular Cab please let me know what you're planning on using the roof rack for and I can help you find the best solution.
