Roof Rack and Platform Recommendation for Roof of 2013 Toyota Highlander

Question:

Hi I am looking for a roof cargo based for a Toyota Highlander 2013 that will be used ONLY when the vehicle is stationary to support 1 person on top using this basket as a platform for Photography i.e. Person + Tripod and camera. The person weighs about 155 lbs, and Camera+Tripod would be roughly 10-15 lbs. Is there a rooftop cargo basket you recommend that will work with a Toyota Highlander 2013 and can take ~180 lbs? thx

I have a solution for you, you'd want the Rhino Rack HD roof rack part # RB1375B-2, # RRRLKHD, and # DK138 which will allow you to use a Pioneer Platform Tray part # RR42112BF with the adapter part # RR43105. This has a lower capacity listed for what you are wanting to do but that's based on the application of it being used on the highway. For a situation like yours where the weight won't be bouncing around this would work well assuming your Highlander also has a similar weight capacity. This setup has a capacity of 165 lbs. The roof rack mentioned also is a custom fit for the 2013 Toyota Highlander with a totally naked roof.
