Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the replacement safety pin for your Yakima bike rack. This fits several different bike racks from Yakima, and it's going to be that pin that allows you to drop down the platform or folded up into the storage position, depending on how you have it set up. So let's take a little closer look at it, to see what actually comes with this part number. So it's going to be our pin plus the retaining cable and a little plug for our tethered anchor into the bike rack. So it's going to be pretty easy to replace.If that old pin got damaged somewhere along the line, or maybe it came off completely, you need to remove this plug, if it's still in place.
If not just pop that into the hole where your tether was before, and you're pretty much good to go. You can see it has little detent there to help it hold it its spot. And also to make it easy to take this or put this in or out. The bike racks that this works with are there on the screen. So it's going to work with the Dr.
Tray and the HoldUp EVO bike racks.That's pretty much all there is to it for our look at the replacement pin. Bought a Yakima Evo bike rack that had been returned by another party. It was a bargain, however was missing the tongue pin. Found a replacement part at etrailer and received it within a few days. Now I feel comfortable knowing the rack won't come off. Thank you.
