This is going to replace a damaged fat tire rear wheel holder for your T2 Classic platform bike rack, whether that be for the 2" hitches or 1-1/4" hitches, or for the two bike add-on or the two-bike holder. Just like the original, this is designed to keep that fat rear tire in place as you're going down the road.It's going to include the strap here to make sure that that tire stays in place. Ordered the Thule T2 replacement Fat Tire rear wheel holder and Fat Tire front wheel tray(X2) for my Sport Works bike rack. (Thule bought them out a few years ago). The parts bolted right up and work great. Remember to move the rear wheel strap into the longer reach holder notch so it fits around 4-5 inch fatty wheels.
Appears very well made. There were no instructions, so it took me a little bit to figure out how to increase the length of the strap for bigger tires, but now things look like they'll work great.
Replacement fits perfectly.
I purchased these rear wheel holders to replace my worn original ones as pictured given that Thule does not sell any strap buckles.
After installing these newer versions, as you see, the original stop designed on my bicycle carrier was reversed and has the buckle for the strap to engage facing the rear of the vehicle rather than towards the person installing the bicycle on the rack. That is, the original wheel holders had the insert to stop the wheel holder from sliding off on the opposing side of these newer models.
Not a problem, a new hole was drilled on the opposite side and the rack is was good as new,
A little pricey for an old bicycle carrier but I plan to run this for a long time.

The product itself works great. It is just like the one we had to replace. However, when I went to order the product I could only find a replacement fat tire rear wheel holder & strap. After making a phone call I was told the fat tire rear wheel holder & strap will fit any tire. It would have been helpful if I didn't have to make a phone call to find this out. It would have been nice if the description would have included this information

It’s working great. It’s better than the original. The latching mechanism is much better. I like the loop and how I can pull down on it to tighten it

Great customer service.
My Thule T2 rack is still kicking. Replaced the old wheel holder with this and its back in action.
Straps are way to small to fit fat tires. Item is not as described.

John, Thank you for your review. This replacement wheel holder and strap is designed for the Thule T1 and T2 Classic bike racks and can accommodate fat tires up to 5" wide when the strap is installed. what size are your tires?

Fits thule t2 classic rack perfectly and easy to install
I ordered this because my Thule bike rack straps will not fit fat tires. This is the same size as what the rack already has from factory.
The strap was too short and couldn't clip in. I notified etrailer and they are going to address the issue. If you look at the photo you can see how short the strap is. I thought there was an adjustment but there isn't. I can't imagine how Thule would advertise it for a fat tire.
The rear wheel holder listed to fit fat bikes I was sent does not fit. I was sent the standard T2 Classic Rear Wheel Holder with the standard STRAP. Strap is too short for a fat bike tire. The front Wheel Holder did fit however. Had to use a bungee for scheduled travel risking bike security. Not so happy to put a high end fat bike on without the proper strap.

This should not be the case Roger, let's get to the bottom of this. Can you please respond directly to the email that you receive with pictures of it not working? Please also confirm your bike rack, and the width of your tires. I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from you.
I received the new Rear Wheel Holder for my Thule T2 bike rack just before leaving for a weekend cycling event. It took less than five minutes to remove the old holder and install the new one.
After driving more than 150 miles on the interstate, the new holder kept my bike secure the entire trip. When I arrived at the event, removing the bike was noticeably easier. My old holder would often stick, and I occasionally pinched my fingers trying to release it. The new design operated smoothly and made unloading the bike quick and effortless.
This is a great improvement over the original design. I'm very pleased with the upgrade.
Even though our Thule rack is an older model, the Fat Tire Rear Wheel Holder and Strap fit perfectly. The over the phone service was great and it was shipped faster than what we expected.
