Video Transcript for Review of Maxxair - RV Vents and Fans - MA10A21276K

Today we're taking a look at the replacement printed circuit board. Now, this replaces the printed circuit board for your max fan RV roof vent, with manual lift. It works with part numbers MA00-04000K, MA00-05100K and MA00-6200K.It's a direct replacement from the original manufacturer. It has the quick connect plug on these two wires over here. This is like your antennae, so that does not actually get connected, and then these two wires will need to be hard wired in and they are labeled. This one's your positive wire, white one is your negative or ground. That's going to do it for today's look at the replacement printed circuit board..

Really fast shipping. Found a video online and was able to switch out the part and get our fan back in working condition. So glad etrailer carries these parts.

Great. Replacement control board worked like a charm. Happy I found it saved me from having to replace entire fan in our camper.

This is a replacement for the circuit board in the MAXXAIR 00-06200K. Overall great fan, however the circuit is a bit touchy with incoming voltage (more on that below). The original circuit that the fan came with worked fine for a a couple of seasons, then would stop and beep several times before limiting fan speed on. I dealt with it for a while, but it was rather annoying that the fan could no longer run at full speed. Talking with MaxxAir, the board seemed to be going bad...hence the replacement. I will only speculate that because the board is not coated, and where it is placed (bathroom) that the moisture eventually got to it and started causing errors. With this replacement, I sprayed it with a coating to prevent any moisture from getting to the electronics and it has been running fine. No issues, annoying beeps, or unexpected stops.

On a side note, I did upgrade to lithium later and would recommend installation of a DC-DC regulator with an ouput of 12V/5A/60W to keep the board happy. Since then I have not had any issues with the fan and it runs perfectly.

It has been a year, and circuit board has been working fine. The addition of a voltage regulator that caps the voltage to 12V has been invaluable.

@EG Great advice with the voltage regulator! The coating was a good idea as well. Moisture is often the downfall of electronic components. Let us know if you every need anything from us in the future! : )

Our Maxxfan had a flashing green light and beeping from the unit. Thanks to your on line trouble shooting help, it told us when you have this issue, you need to replace the circuit board. Again, through your online help info, it told us the part number the circuit board we needed for our 4000k Maxxfan. I paid for faster shipping and received the circuit board in 2 days. The extra shipping fee was worth the price. The circuit board was easy to replace and we are up and running again. This fan is in our bedroom and we use it constantly when we RV. A very happy customer!
by:
The Maxx fan replacement circuit board is working beautifully. Sadly for us, the problem was actually a converter going bad. Nonetheless, it's good to know that replacing the circuit board is not too difficult, and we have a perfectly good original to use one day if needed. Our Maxx fan is on 24/7 and does an amazing job of removing warm moist air and keeping air moving in general. What a great, quiet workhorse.

Worked great - perfect repair. Easy installation.

Still going strong!

The Maxx air fan is not rain proof if the rain is coming at just the right direction. I understand that the new fans the circuit boards are somewhat water proof. Unfortunately the older ones are not. My new circuit board from etrailer arrived promptly and worked great.

Circuit Board for MaxxAir Manual Lift RV Roof Vents
Tried replacing the circuit board but same result. After reading comments here and on Amazon I removed the circuit board, bypassed the button controls, and installed a rheostat to directly control the fan. Works great forward/reverse, from slow to fast speed. Rheostat is too large to install within the fan housing so mounted on trailer wall.
by:
Perfect fit in existing fan assembly .
by:
The circuit board only lasted a couple of months. Very disappointed with the products from this manufacturer. etrailer I’m very happy with, this has nothing to do with etrailer. Fortunately I have a bit of electronics skill and was able to replace all of this with my own circuit board, a potentiometer and two switches. Works better and continues to work, at a cost of 10% of this product. This was the second board from Maxxair that had failed. Both had been running on regulated 12.5V.
by:
Part works great, easy to replace
by:
Best delivery any side of the Mississippi. Circuit board was just what I needed. Got here just in time for my weekend off-road trip.
by:
Good replacement for old defective board.
Mine had only 5 pins (instead of 8) but it still works when matching pin #1 with #1.
Still, this unit is VERY picky with voltage. It will emit error sound and refuse to start when supplied with as low as 13.0 VDC (13.8 is usual in RV). The old unit failed because of this design flaw and the problem is known from the manufacturer. It is hard to understand why they would not fix this (greed?). I had to add a voltage regulator (or buck converter) to this unit to work correctly. I suggest it for anyone out there replacing it, with it, it works flawlessly.
Only 3 stars because part is hard to find, compatibility is not explained (5 pins to 8 pins), it isn't cheap and it will still fail if voltage is not regulated.

Thankfully these PCB board were available! Price per unit, ehh, reasonable but off set by the ease of using the etrailer site. Yes, I'd order again (if necessary).
PRO's: [My story: (*No blame intended or implied; just background info.) Since I choose to order discounted/used (but top quality) vent fans. (BTW, brand new my opinion is that these fans are *excessively priced for what they really are.} Anyhow, both units arrived quickly & were very well packaged. Also, both vent fan units were in overall really good appearance/ condition but both failed to function. Troubleshooting them revealed that each of their PCB's were bad. (Although different models; thankfully both vent fans were from the same OEM mfg, and therefore, the PCB boards were the same.) Take your time but disassembly of the vent fan units was easy. Installation of the vent fan unit PCB boards was easy. After a full function test was completed on both units - they worked as mfg.d; installation of the vent fans into the RV proceeded as originally planned. FYI: Yes, I'd order from etrailer again! I'd also order again - discounted/ previously used items again knowing the ease of basic repair & parts replacement. (*Item specific.) Also BTW, even though I had to also order replacement PCB boards for these discounted/used vent fans - my final out of pocket cost was still nearly $100/dollars less than the cost of New In The Box vent fans.}

CON's:
(a) (My story. Sorry, a bit of a rabbit trail but related.) 1st, sorry whaaa? Did I miss it? Buyer beware! I do not recall reading anywhere on the listing for the discounted/ used vent fans that stated that the used vent fans were also "non-functioning". *Since each vent fans was still pricey (over $150.00-200.00/each). If the listing had stated that they were non-functioning & used - at the prices listed - I would not have immediately ordered them. (*Although I can't dictate to any company what "used, non-functioning' items should be listed for; in my humble opinion, non-functioning/ used vent fans, no matter the mfg, should be way less than $100.00 each regardless of condition.) Having whined about that...yes, in my case as an electronics repair tech; most likely I would have reluctantly order these vent fans.
(b) *I wish that either the OEM mfg or eTrailer would there have an additional service: PCB exchange / credit for returning used PCB boards. {Even being an electronics-technician (& most people are not) - as an RV owner/ user - I'm not looking to make the task of replacing vent fans take any longer than it already will to do it right. (Additional thoughts on this point: Having a PCB exchange program would give both the distribution company & OEM mfg an additional service (less pricey) to offer their customers. As well as, as an RV owner/ user; it would be nice & convenient, quick fix on the road, to have at least 1-spare PCB assembly on hand. *Other than having to find a suitable location to store items in my RV.

Controller for Maxxair is still performing well.

by:
Well, when my Max Air wouldn't start by pressing the button I thought it was a circuit board but it turned out it was only the keypad which is a separate item. well now I've got an extra circuit board.
by:
Part worked perfect. I bought this as I was getting intermittent green blinking light followed by a loss of power. This happened after I went to a lithium battery. As others have said, the volts are higher and older models are said to not like volts over 12.8 or so. I hooked it up. Was very easy to do. And, ran it for about 2 hours. Ran it on all speeds and also changed directions. No issues. I'm going on a 4500 mile trip. So, that'll be the real test! If I have issues I'll re post.

I appreciate the reminder to update my review as I forgot to. It turned out the circuit board was fine. The first night on my long trip the fan did the same thing. Once I got to my destination across the country I also tried a voltage regulator. That didnt work. I bought a new fan motor. It was ready to swap out without taking the fan apart. Its been flawless ever since! So, I basically have a new fan now.

by:
The replacement board did not work either. After it was installed I had the same problem I had originally - the fan would start but then the beeping would begin and the fan would not function. The only way to try again was to take out the breaker and put it back in. I suspect it is a voltage issue as it is said this is a problem with Maxx fans. I did check voltage and it seemed to be within the required parameters. So I bought a $xx thermostat with dial and reversible switch and with a little engineering, installed that and now have a working fan. I threw the original board and replacement in the trash.
by:
Customer service was excellent. Quick replies to inquiries, always kept informed of order status and good follow up after delivery. The circuit board fit perfectly, was fairly straightforward to install and my fan now works like new.Very happy with my first experience with this company.

Hi.Pleased to report that after 1 year the fan is still working perfectly.I would just like to mention that prior to installing the new circuit board I used an ink pen type applicator to seal it with a conformal coating.I decided to do this after seeing an on-line tutorial that suggested the failure of the original board may have been due to moisture. The fan worked fine for the first 5 years so it may be too early to know if the conformal coating is helping or not.

This isn't the easiest product to source and I was surprised that etrailer stocked it. I got an email stating a future delivery date of over a month. A quick email garnered an automated reply and the followup request for clarification gained no honor, which had me completely convinced that I had stepped into a bait and switch, possibly even a scam site (could it have been a mirror of the real site??). I realized I was at a complete loss, the internet being what it is, when......low and behold, my order arrived. Exactly as promised, in good condition. I will hold the last star only for the customer service. Nicholas-bot , when I ask, you answer. I wouldn't hesitate to order again.
by:
This circuit board did the trick and brought a dead Maxxair fan back to life. I was thrilled with the price, the quick shipping, and communication from etrailer folks through the whole process. I was also please to see the recent manufacture date on the board, which hopefully indicates I won't run into any of the issues that plagued the original board.
by:
Unfortunately I did not have a great experience. It work for a month or so after installation. Then it only allowed the first two speeds to function. Based on my research I feel the control board is flawed by design. The form factor of the fan is the best out there, but there is no shortage of people who report that the fan stops working and starts beeping. It's too bad they haven’t figured out a solution.
by:
I only ordered from E Trailer as everyone else who listed this part was backordered. E Trailer delivered this circuit board 6 weeks after I placed my order. 6 weeks, that is ages but the only game in town. The price was also 2x what other venders listed on their website. But e trailer was the only supplier that could supply this circuit board. The circuit board works fine. But 6 weeks to delivery hardly rates a hurrah fro me. Only game in town...
by:
Solved the blinking green light of death. Took about 20 minutes to replace.
by:
I was bummed about having to replace the circuit board on my MaxxAir fan and finally conceded that I'd spring for the part.
I chose etrailer.com because their price was the best. Once on the phone with Joanne, I quickly realized that she could handle my concerns about whether this new board would solve the problems of the old board. She answered my questions, gave me some confidence in the outcome, and was polite, personable, and professional.
Joanne K. Followed up with an estimated delivery date which was accurate. Today I received the board, installed it, and it solved the problem! Joanne K. Is the best!

  • Replacement Lithium Battery Compatible Fan for a MaxxFan 5100k
Welcome back Chris. The original MaxxFan 5100k fans couldn't handle the extra voltage from Lithium batteries and the boards would burn out. A green light would come on and beep after the fan runs for only a few seconds, which sounds like exactly what you're dealing with. The Replacement Printed Circuit Board item # MA10A21276K is the current version of the board that is compatible with lithium batteries that have higher voltage. • Troubleshooting A MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent That Shuts Off At High Speeds
I recommend first checking the power coming to your MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat - Manual Lift - 10 Speed - White # MA00-04000K, it will need to be 12v. If it's not receiving 12v then you could need to increase the wire gauge running to it to negate any potential voltage drop off. If it's receiving the correct amount of power then I would disconnect the power and remove the circuit board for a few minutes for it to reset and then reinstall the board and power. If it...

I'll start off by saying that typically the flashing green lights on your MaxxFan # MA00-04000K means that there is some sort of voltage issue and even though when you tested you're getting what seems to be proper voltage, I would guess there is a short on the circuit that is causing the problem. I would recommend checking to make sure that the ground is properly attached to an area of the coach that is free from dirt, debris and corrosion. This would also be a good time to make sure that...
