Question:

I have a maxxfan 5100k. After converting to lithium properly a few months later the fan would start and then after a few seconds stop and start beeping.. To stop the beeping had to remove power. I changed the circuit board with an Amazon one and behaves the same,even when I had a voltage regulator added and wired to a lead acid battery. What is the best way to fix this.? New motor board and even control? Or replace with new? I have an Escape 19 trailer 2019 and the motor says 2019 as well.

Welcome back Chris. The original MaxxFan 5100k fans couldn't handle the extra voltage from Lithium batteries and the boards would burn out. A green light would come on and beep after the fan runs for only a few seconds, which sounds like exactly what you're dealing with.

The Replacement Printed Circuit Board item # MA10A21276K is the current version of the board that is compatible with lithium batteries that have higher voltage. It's part number is 10C21276K, I recommend comparing it to the one you got off of Amazon. What you're describing with the new board should have stopped if it's the updated version. Amazon's pretty sketchy when it comes to replacement parts like this so hopefully that's what's wrong and it'll be an easy fix.

If you've got the right lithium compatible board installed, I recommend replacing your MaxxFan 5100k. It sounds like you've already tried the voltage regulator without success. The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat item # MA00-06200K would be a comparable replacement features wise and is compatible with Lithium batteries.

What kind of climates do you camp in when you're using the fan?

Two Questions: 1) Would the new unit fit in the existing flange? (Tempting) 2) Since the Amazon product was not factory (but said it was a replacement for it and came with a V regulator, if the new board is compatible with the 13.3 volt voltage I now have house wise, I could get a replacement from you and not trust the voltage regulator that came with the other one? I have measured the voltage and it is actually a little low but I tried power direct with a 12.5 volt battery and same issue. No damage noted on the circuit board. I did get the factory board for the main power charger that says it automatically senses Lithium, so I should be good from that. Thanks Jerred

@ChrisG You're welcome! 1) It sure will! The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent item # MA00-06200K is going to drop right into the same cutout and flange your MaxxFan 5100k currently sits in. 2) I can't fully answer this question or guarantee the Replacement Printed Circuit Board item # MA10A21276K is going to work without the part number off the board you currently have installed. This could be the exact same board.
