It was exactly what I needed, but was very disappointed to find there was no lubrication on any of the gears, bearings, or motor. I completely disassembled it and applied lubricate as needed. I used chain oil that sprays on and drys, so it does not attract dust that would be worse than no lubricant. Not having lubricant is a manufacture short fall and not etrailer.

The website said it was in stock; it wasn't. They sent me an email saying it would be a couple of weeks before they got more from the manufacturer. That worked for me as my big trip was a couple of months off. They kept me posted and shipped the product a week later. Can't really complain about that.

The pot metal drive gear on my motor was deeply gouged from the steel half-moon gear of the steps which also had some mangled teeth. The steps would jump during operation and wouldn't fully retract as it slipped over the damaged teeth. I contemplated rebuilding the motor myself as all it needed was the drive gear and a worn internal nylon worm gear but figured the price of a new motor was justified as my brushes and armature were also about 10 years old.

Kwikee recommends replacing the control unit with the motor which I question the reasoning of. However, the price of this motor and table set was a lot cheaper than buying the individual parts and you get a new table which has a nylon bushing that also wears out eventually, likely contributing to the wear on the gears. Now I have a spare control unit should I ever need one.

Install was fairly easy and straight forward, especially with the video on the website. One thing it doesn't show is that the step gear and motor assembly arrives in a half-retracted position so that it fits in the shipping box. It has to be fully deployed for the install. I thought about dismounting the motor to reposition the step gear but just applied a little power instead and it deployed right to where it needed to be. I also found it helpful to leave the four step mount bolts a little loose to facilitate lining up the link assembly. Once you get the link assembly connected, just position the motor table and tighten it down.

Six months later it is still working like the day it was born.

The Kwikee step replacement Kit for 25 Series IMGL/9510, Control - LC379804 fit my 2012 Winnebago Vista 35F step perfectly. I extended the stairs and then It was easy and quick to install, just remove the connecting rod and four bolts. I had now need for the control electronics, but buying this combination saved me about $180 over the cost of buying just the main plate with motor and mounting parts!

This item was a 100% direct replacement for my Kwikee series 25 triple auto steps. Self install took less than hour when all said and done. Came with all new wiring harness and all electrical plugs and screws were an identical match. No modifications needed.

I uploaded a photo of my old system that had stripped teeth causing the stairs to only retract about 1/2 of the way up before they would lose grip on the teeth. You could always just give them some assistance by help pushing them in but for how frequently this system is used we decided to replace it.

Perfect replacement. I received my package on the day we left for a weekend in the mountains. I threw the box in the camper with a couple tools and installed it the first morning we were there (I gave the directions to my wife to read as I replaced the unit to give her something to do) and it fit perfectly. My order arrived really fast - 3 days after placing the order. The parts fit perfectly. All I had to do was remove the old unit, disconnect the wires. and reverse the procedure to install the new one. Took me 30 minutes.

My old unit had striped the gears. The new step mechanism included the controller, hardware and instructions . After doing the installation I did some test runs with the steps. That's where I think I figured out why the old one failed. I think the old controller wasn't turning off the power quick enough when the steps got to the end of their run; this caused too much stress on the gears.
The best part of my order was etrailer.com had a great price.

I was very happy that this upgrade kit was available. My step is too new to need the upgrade as it was built in 2006 but the large gear had bad teeth on it and replacement part is not available.
I used this kit for the gear and it worked perfect!
Now I have an extra controller.
Contrary to the manufacturers description, there is no door switch in the kit. The short wires in the kit go to the motor.

Kit arrived on the promised date in perfect shape. Installed it the next day. In place of the control unit from the kit, I used control unit 363982 which is a higher current limit unit. The step retracts and extends perfectly and is very quiet. Just like new. I also lubed all the moving joints with Kwik-Lube and used di-electric grease in the electrical connections. I could not be happier with these products.

This replacement motor assembly was easy to order, shipped quickly and arrived on time. I was told by our local RV dealer that I would not be able to find parts for the 25 Series stairs but thankfully they were wrong. I will definitely recommend my friends to check out etrailer.com to find parts for their RV’s.

Still working like new.

Product is well made. Fit 2004 Winnebago Kwikkee steps perfectly. All items well packed includes all hardware and wiring.
However the bolt shaft on gear had a burr that prevented self locking nut to fit. Had to remove table and use a 3/8” die to clean threads and reinstall. Minor problem but quality control missed it

My problem was that the controller went out on my Kwikee step on my 05 National Dolphin motor home. That controller is no longer manufactured so etrailer/kwikee wanted to sell me a whole new step mechanism. I could not get anybody at etrailer or kwikee (now Lippert) to tell me how the new controller was different from the old. It seemed like they knew more than they would tell me. Finally another motorhome owner on IRV2 sent me some kwikee literature that told me the exact differences. The use of the manual switch (to hold the step out or have it retract) using the new controller worked in reverse of the way it was used on the old controller. Also the drive wires to the step motor had been reversed. So after many fruitless phone calls to etrailer and kwikee (with this minor literature) I reversed the drive wires to the step motor, learned to use the manual switch in the opposite way, and everything worked. Although I cut and re-soldered the motor wires, I later found a place that sold a connector that did the wire reverse (local store). I also discovered it was possible to just take the wires out of the plastic connector to the motor and reverse them. I would have thought that etrailer would have known that it was so simple to use the new controller on the old step mechanism. Oh, also the new controller didn't fit where the old controller did, but there is lots of room under the step so I mounted it in a new place. Saved myself several hundred dollars.

Web site was easy to navigate and order. The part came as promised. I installed it with out and issues. The problem was ware on the gear on the motor and the teeth of the matching wheel.
Is it possible to bye a gear that goes on the motor? It would be good to carry it when the steps stop working next time.

At this time there are not replacement parts available for motor components. The motor is sold as a replacement with part # LC369506. The gear on the table is also sold as a replacement part with part # LC369354.

It unfortunately does not give the breakdown to the extent you are seeking with Teflon plate and wave washer as those parts are not replacement options from the manufacturer. I've attached the best parts list from the manufacturer I can get as an attempt to help. If your parts are worn then I recommend getting the replacement kit # LC379804 because not all the parts you are seeking are replacement options.

    For the replacement gear you will use the Replacement Entry Step Gear for Lippert Kwikee 25 and 26 Series Triple Steps # LC369354. I believe the shear pin you are referring to is a part of the gear itself. The motor is # LC369506 which comes with the smaller gear. If you want to replace the entire assembly you can use the Lippert Components Kwikee Step Replacement Kit # LC379804.

    Thanks for all of that info, and for your Kwikee steps, the part number 902508000 means you have a 25 Series step, and the because the sixth digit is an "8" that means yours is a was built between early 1999, and late 2005 to early 2006. That means your steps do not have the IMGL (integrated motor / gearbox / linkage) that Kwikee began using after that.     If your Kwikee steps intermittently retract or extend and you're also hearing a clicking noise there could either be a missing a tooth (or teeth) on the gears, or it could also be the motor. It also could just be a wiring connection issue.
