Today we're taking a look at a disc brake dust cap. Now this dust cap is designed for the Kodiak disc brake kit, part number K2HR712D. It's made from a durable steel construction with corrosion resistant zinc plating.Now once installed it does a great job of keeping dirt and grime from getting in the trailer hub are. The center area right here can be removed, so that way you can easily gain access to the axle spindle, when and if needed. Just removes like that, and then it pops back into place. The center area is just made from a nice durable rubber construction, just pops in and out.Last thing I want to mention is the measurements, so edge to edge right here, this flange are is 2.72 inches.
If we take a measurement from this lip right here to the top or outermost point of the cap, we have an extension there of about one and one-eighth inches.That's going to do it for today's look at the disc brake dust cap. Again, this is designed for the Kodiak disc brake kit, part number K2HR712D.
These were exact replacements for the original, they are still on the trailer and working, but I would prefer bearing buddies, but they are way more expensive.
Grease cap damaged/unusable and this like dexter item dimensions are all different. So long as the wheels line up and the drum contacts the brakes pad properly I’ll let it ride. And the like new but missing parts drum is damaged and the bearing race is not seated
BEWARE!! Ordered 2 kits expecting two caps per kit. Only received 2 caps with rubber plugs. Called customer service and was told they were individually priced which makes them a lot higher then local parts store. This contradicts order from September of 2023 when I order two kits at kit price and received 4 caps.
