Question:

Would this hub alone be able to be installed and run properly on a axle that is currently set up for grease. If not what do I need to do that? Its a 7k axle

Hello Benton, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the # DX64HR Hub and Drum assembly can be used for an axle that is set up for grease. You would just want to replace the oil cap with a grease cap like part # K7CAP and you will be good to go.

What if I wanted to use oil. Does that involve a new spindle or new axle or can this be used to convert a grease axle to a oil bath set up?

@Benton Not a new spindle you would just want to make sure you are using an oil seal and oil cap if you intend to use oil. An oil seal would work fine with grease but not vice versa. The spindle doesn't really have anything to do with switching to oil from grease. The important factors are the seal and dust cap on the hub. If you are converting a grease axle over to oil you would need to get new bearings and make sure every last bit of grease is cleaned off of everything
