Replaces 1 upright tube for CE Smith bunk-style guide-ons for boat trailers (CE27640 and CE27760). Lance prevents rotation of PVC posts. Mounting hardware (CE11452-A) sold separately.

This pre-galvanized steel support post mounts horizontally on top of or below your trailer's frame rail. Just slide the post into the boat guide support and secure the post so that the distance between the trailer bunks correctly matches the width of your boat.
This upright is designed with a lance to prevent rotation of your PVC post.
Pre-Galvanized Steel
Pre-galvanized steel parts are stamped from a sheet of steel after it has already been galvanized. The edges of the pre-galvanized parts often lose their zinc coating during the stamping process. Because of the thinness of the coating (less than 1 mil) and the fact that the edges remain exposed, pre-galvanized parts can begin to oxidize and rust quickly, so it's recommended that they be primed and painted.

Had a good ce smith upright until an idiot crossed the double line and hit the left side. Etrailer had a replacement in stock. Already installed. Shipping was fast and the packaging was excellent.

Product has held up very well
Easy to install and inexpensive replacement for this guide piece on our current trailer. Good quality, value priced.
Need to be prime and painted no Galvanized that I saw on it. So be prepared to paint it. Comes with a thick oil on it, probably cause it would rust. Put a drail hole in the bottom corner on the elbow. It holds water there and not easy to flush out.

The replacement guide arm is well described. It arrived on schedule. Nice to be able to replace just the post and not the whole guide package.
Three comments: It appears to be mild steel with little or no galvanize coating. I applied a cold galvanize coating to the lower portion, below the PVC post and in the holes. The "non-spin" dimple is higher than the "stop ring" of the original so you may want to trim or cut a longer slot for the PVC post to be the same length. I drilled a 3/16' hole on the bottom leg, just inboard of the bend to let the water drain if the bottom is not exactly level. (My original rusted out at that point, probably from water that did not completely drain.)

Well, the other side rusted out and I just ordered and received another replacement. HOWEVER - the above comments still stand. NO IMPROVEMENT HAVE BEEN MADE. I have had to do the same mods - galvanize coating, drain hole, modified stop for the PVC guide. Question - do they read and consider customer suggestions for product improvement ?

Great replacement guide-on post and I-beam brackets. I removed the pvc posts and replaced them with Slick Stick which have built in lights. Running lights, brake lights and turn signals. Easier for vehicles behind you to see tail lights.

I installed another brand of pvc guide-on covers over the replacement upright CE Smith bunks. They have held up really well. They have slightly gotten bent loading the boat but work great.

hiolding up well in the delta environment, no issues yet
One guide was bent pretty close to 90 degrees, but the other one is past 90 degrees and will have to be pulled back out to 90 degrees. It's not horrible, but easily noticable.
After talking to Odelia in customer service I ordered the 39 inch trailer guide bar. This was a perfect fit for my trailer and I received it as described and in the time stated in my order. I installed it and am very satisfied with order/delivery process and product received.

After one year it is in good condition. No rust. I launch in salt water once or twice per week and always wash off after the day is over.
A few days after making the order I received an email from etrailer indicating that there would be a delay in delivery until early next month and the items that I needed had to be shipped first from a manufacturer. I called the emailer to discuss but it was a Friday afternoon and I did not reach him. Later that evening I got an email from etrailer indicating that my order would be delivered within 5 days and it arrived on time as they said! Someone at etrailer must have gone the extra mile for me. It was much appreciated as I could not wait until next month. It saved me an expensive trip to the trailer dealer.

Perfectly! We operate the boat in saltwater offshore waters and live just a few miles from the Gulf of Mexico.It still helps guide the boat back onto the trailer just fine. Nice thing about E-Trailer is the spec on a product are accurate!!

Needed this because the original guide on would not extend far enough out from the trailer. Measurements in the question section are spot on. Used hyperdip shadow black to get this item to match the rest of the trailer that I purchased on this website as well.
Uprights for boat trailer. This will be used in saltwater, appears to not be galvanized. Thought description said it was galvanized & rust resistant. I'm afraid will need to prime & paint to try & protect.

Hi Dwight, Thanks for your feedback! These posts are do come galvanized. When used in salt water, the galvanization will be worn away due to how harsh the salt is on the metal. Throwing on a layer of paint over the galvanization is a good idea to protect them further.
Not installed yet. But have arrived without any problems.
Part came as ordered. A bit lighter gauge than the original but completely serviceable. As suggested I have primed and painted it and will see if it holds up in the salt water better than the old one. Always get good service from Etrailer both on my personal stuff like this bracket and on trailer hitches and wiring harness kits for my car dealership.
