MB Sturgis Propane Fittings - 100833-36

  • Hoses
  • Pigtail Hoses
  • 1/4 Inch - MIF
  • Type 1 - Female
  • MB Sturgis

Pigtail makes the connection from the propane tanks on your trailer to the propane regulator on your trailer. Check valve prevents backflow leakage and is suitable for dual-tank setups. Stainless Steel overbraiding protects hose from damage.

Features:

  • Propane pigtail connects your propane cylinder to a regulator
    • Used for single or dual tank setups on the front of your travel trailer
  • Female Type 1 fitting connects to the valve on your propane cylinder
  • Male Inverted flare connects to a propane regulator
  • Built-in bypass mode shuts gas off when flow reaches maximum capacity for safety
    • Thermal shut-off device turns off gas flow in extreme heat caused by open flame
    • Excess-flow safety device limits gas flow in the event of a severe leak
  • Stainless steel overbraid protects the hose from damage
  • Durable thermoplastic hose and brass fittings approved for LP gas only
    • Rated for high pressure and high flow rate to handle unregulated propane
    • UL569 and ANSI Z21-81 certified
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Temperature range: -40 F to 140 F
  • Hose dimensions: 36" long x 1/4" inner diameter
  • Hose fittings:
    • Type 1 tank connection
    • 1/4" Male inverted flare
  • Maximum pressure rating: 350 psi
  • Maximum flow capacity: 450,000 Btu per hour
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Bypass Mode for Safety

This Type 1 connector will go into bypass mode if the flow rate surpasses the maximum flow capacity for this connector, which is 450,000 Btu per hour. A ball inside of the fitting will push an internal spring down, pressing firmly against the bottom of the fitting to shut off the flow of gas.

When choosing a Type 1 connector, consider your overall propane demands and choose a connector with a flow rate that just exceeds it. That way, you won't trigger the bypass mode during normal use, but it will trigger in the event of a leak. If the bypass valve engages, stop using gas and start checking your connections for leaks.

When looking for a propane hose, i found several of the rubber kind. The rubber gets very stiff in cold weather. And one i used developed a leak at on of the crimps. Braided hoses, especially those not made “elsewhere”, are hard to find. This is a quality hose. Worth the search and the money.

by:

Some little customization to fit in the slot on dash but easy connection to factory installed Honda Ridgeline trailer brake package under console.

by:

The pigtail was premium quality an a piece of cake to install an the distribution block was also easy to install . See picture for what I call a great install. Highly recommend. Thanks everyone at etrailer

The pigtail connector on my Aliner Classic, the one with the green plastic fastener that runs from the propane tank to the regulator, was chewed by some vermin and was leaking. There are squirrels and chipmunks aplenty here. It was the original hose and looks to be black neoprene which over the years had become hard, less pliable.

It made sense to replace this solid neoprene with one with a stainless braided outer sleeve. Not only will this stainless braid repel animals from chewing (They hate chewing metal braid), but it is a degree of protection from road hazards being kicked up and slicing the bare hose.

This hose has a Green knob. Be sure of the color of the plastic knob on your old hose as a hose with a black knob will not work, the thread will not fit: You must replace your hose with one with the knob of the same color.

Be sure to use Teflon gas tape on the threads attaching to the regulator, this prevents leakage and is important.

While I have not yet installed this product, I will be soon. I wanted the stainless steel overwrapped hose because I think it will be more durable and better protected than the plain hose.

The first hose that came with my R-Pod was an M.B. Sturgis hose. It was not overwrapped, and the reason I got a different one was that it developed a leak at the junction of the hose and the regulator fitting. Since then, I have had a couple of other propane pigtails. One was okay, but when I switched to a hard cover, it was too short. The one I had that was long enough developed a fault in cold weather where it had an internal valve fail which restricted the propane flow. This was a bad thing because it was freezing weather. When the furnace kicked on, the stove nearly went out. That hose was replaced under warranty, but the replacement had the old style connector which needs a wrench. That is not what I wanted. That is why I purchased this one.

The specifications are better on this also. The other hose is rated for 200,000 btu/hour. This one is rated for 450,000 btu/hour. It is probably why this brand was the one that came with our R-Pod originally.

If this one lasts, it will be a good value. I won't know that until I have had it on and used it.

Hoses are holding up fine. The stainless steel shilding blends well with my Airstream.

by:

This is the only 36'' stainless propane pigtails on the market. Hopefully they last longer than 7 yrs. Very quick delivery, and great communication via e-mail. I will post on airforums about this product.

I have sent your information over to our customer service department for them to get in touch with you on getting the correct adapter for your application.

by:

Both items were exactly what I ordered, and they came together and on time. I also like that they were made in the U.S.

by:

The propane hoses were a very good upgrade and replacement for the original hoses on my 1996 Airstream which were getting brittle. Also I do not need a wrench to disconnect the tanks for refilling.

by:

Product was promptly shipped and no damage when I recieved it. Hooked it up to the travel trailer and works like a champ. I've had rubber ones before and rocks have kicked up and punctured them. Hopefully this does the trick. Well constructed.

by:

I was having trouble with squirrels eating my gas hoses to my camper.
Bought stainless steel lined hoses and they solved the problem. Thank You

by:

The propane regulator I ordered seems to be made of quality as does the flex hose. Will order again when I need. Thanks ..,....

..Merry Christmas to all.

by:

Great product. Been working perfectly for a year.

by:

One of our favorite spots to camp had an abundance of squirrels and in minutes they chewed a hole in our gas line. This is the only source for the stainless steel braided gas line. We haven't tried tempting any squirrels yet but I'm convinced this will be the answer! Customer service was very responsive.

by:

Service was excellant as usual , but due to cold weather I have not installed
these yet. Trust me my review will be just as good as the begining responce.

by:

Quality propane hose. Built very well.

by:

The propane hoses were exactly what I needed to complete my hook-up.

by:

Product works as described. Has not broken down to UV yet, like previous exposed rubber hoses have. No leaks, no problems, only happy camping.

by:

Excellent quality. Did what I expected and looks great.

by:

This allowed me to connect to our 100 cup rice cooker with ease

by:

Items arrived quickly and perform as expected. Very satisfied.

by:

Work great and I hope they last a long time.

by:

Exactly what I needed. Received quickly, works perfectly and looks good also.

  • Needing 36 Inch Braided Acme to 1/4 Male Flare Propane Supply Pigtail
The black and the green knobs on the pigtail are known as ACME connectors. The ACME connector has a safety feature that shuts off the flow of gas at a certain flow level. The black and dark green knobs fit the same thread size, but the black are connectors are rated for 70,000-100,000 Btu per hour. The dark green are rated for 450,000-500,000 Btu per hour. • How To Determine If MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail 100833-36 Fits 2020 Cherokee Wolf Pup 16FQ
I would be happy to help, but unfortunately I have no way of determining which size propane line is installed on your 2020 Cherokee Wolf Pup 16FQ. The MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail # 100833-36 you were looking at uses a 1/4" male inverted flare to connect to the trailer, so you will need to verify that your trailer has a 1/4" female inverted flare fitting. Using the above hose will give you a Type 1 cylinder connection to connect a standard propane tank to. If you find your trailer uses...

  • Pigtail Hose for Use with Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator CAM59005
In general it is best to use the shortest suitable length of hose for just about any propane application since a shorter hose means less potential for pressure loss. To connect two tanks to the Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator # CAM59005 you could use a pigtail as short as the 15-inch MB Sturgis # 100833-15 or the 3-foot # 100833-36, both shown on the linked page.
