MB Sturgis Propane Fittings - 100473-36-MBS

  • Hoses
  • Pigtail Hoses
  • 1/4 Inch - Male NPT
  • Type 1 - Female
  • MB Sturgis

Pigtail makes the connection from the propane tanks on your trailer to the propane regulator. Also used to connect tanks to a high-pressure regulator to carry gas to a 2-stage regulator. Check valve prevents hazardous backflow leakage.

Features:

  • Propane pigtail connects your propane cylinder to a regulator
    • Used for single or dual tank setups on the front of your travel trailer
    • Also used to connect a remote tank to a high-pressure regulator
  • Female Type 1 fitting connects to the valve on your propane cylinder
  • Male NPT connects to a propane regulator
  • Built-in bypass mode shuts gas off when flow reaches maximum capacity for safety
    • Thermal shut-off device turns off gas flow in extreme heat caused by open flame
    • Excess-flow safety device limits gas flow in the event of a severe leak
  • Durable thermoplastic hose and brass fittings approved for LP gas only
    • Rated for high pressure and high flow rate to handle unregulated propane
    • UL569 and ANSI Z21-81 certified
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Temperature range: -40 F to 140 F
  • Hose dimensions: 36" long x 1/4" inner diameter
  • Hose fittings:
    • Female Type 1
    • 1/4" Male NPT
  • Maximum pressure rating: 350 psi
  • Maximum flow capacity: 450,000 Btu per hour
  • 1-Year limited warranty

This propane hose is ideal for travel trailers with a split-tank system. This kind of system features 1 cylinder on the driver's side and 1 cylinder on the passenger's side of your trailer. This hose connects the cylinder on the passenger's side to a high-pressure regulator. An additional hose (sold separately) will then carry the propane from the high-pressure regulator to the 2-stage regulator on the driver's side of your trailer.

Bypass Mode for Safety

This Type 1 connector will go into bypass mode if the flow rate surpasses the maximum flow capacity for this connector, which is 450,000 Btu per hour. A ball inside of the fitting will push an internal spring down, pressing firmly against the bottom of the fitting to shut off the flow of gas.

When choosing a Type 1 connector, consider your overall propane demands and choose a connector with a flow rate that just exceeds it. That way, you won't trigger the bypass mode during normal use, but it will trigger in the event of a leak. If the bypass valve engages, stop using gas and start checking your connections for leaks.

Perfect replacement for my old one that had weather cracked and gotten hard to connect.

by:

This is a great hose. Just make sure you are getting ti for use with a small propane tank. I have 100lb tanks, for which this hose will mot work. However it will work just fine for my setup on the back porch. :)

by:

Built well, worked great. Nothing spectacular to get a fifth star.

by:

I searched everywhere for this pigtail with 1/4 male NPT to connect my propane tank to my RV. The vast majority of these out there have 1/4 male inverted flare instead of NPT fitting. Not only did I find it at etrailer at a great price, it arrived very quickly. Installed it today and works like a charm.

by:

The manufacturing quality appears to to be good. There are no leaks date.

by:

Perfect fit and definite upgrade from the factory piece.

by:

The crimp fitting on the 1/4" NPT end started to leak a couple of months ago, etrailer would not fix or replace it.

I am sorry to hear that this item started leaking. I see that our customer service department is currently looking into your email you had sent about this leak.

by:

Did the job until the squirrels chewed through it. Do you offer a beaded stainless steel line?

by:

Exactly what I needed to add a POL pigtail for quicker changeovers for 100lb tanks into my LP garage heater.

by:

This hose, plus a male quick connect and a 90 degree elbow make a great accessory for the Sturgis tee with quick connects. Using the elbow makes the hose easy to connect in tight places.

This hose + male quick connect + 90° elbow = long term solution to long term parking. It has been in continuous use for a year now.

by:

Works great.Made propane hooh up a lot easier.

After looking in 3 different hardware and RV parts stores, I looked online and found etrailer.com. I kicked myself for not going there the first time. ETrailer always has my rv trailers parts in stock and shipping was quick! I won’t shop anywhere else again.

by:

Needed two longer propane hoses for our camper due to installation of new and bigger propane tanks and they fit perfectly. Had a difficult time finding them until I found these from a very large selection on etrailer.com. Very happy with the quality. Thank you.

by:

Great replacement propane hose. No leaks

by:

I needed quick delivery, so I paid extra for shipping. Even though the order process was confusing with regard to the cost of different shipping options, the product was delivered promptly. So far, the hose is working well.

by:

The prosses went well and delivery was early thank, I have not used the hose but in the fall I hope to use it to extend our gas use as we turn the heat on in the RV it has a small gas tank and this hose should help with our external .

by:

I got these so there would be less strain on the fittings at the regulators. The factory hoses were just a tad bit short and one developed a leak at the hose crimp. These longer hoses take all of the strain out of the fittings.

by:

This is my second purchase from etrailer.com. As with the first the service was hassle free, fast, and cost effective (both product and shipping.)

I would recommend using etrailer.com and see for yourself.

by:

Just what I needed had hard time finding 3ft propane pigtails

by:

Excellent customer service for a company that offers specialized products you can’t find on the big box places like {online]. Will definitely use etrailer.com again!

by:

All items are there all is good thanks

by:

  • Determining Correct Propane Pigtail Hose For Trailer
Depending on the specific propane regulator on your trailer you will either need the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail - Stainless Overbraid - Type 1 x 1/4 Male Inverted Flare # 100833-36 or the MB Sturgis Propane Hose w/ Back Check - Type 1 x 1/4" MPT - 36" # 100473-36-MBS. The easiest way to determine the correct hose for your regulator has a brass fitting as shown in the included picture or not. If you have the brass fitting you will need the # 100833-36, and you instead connector directly...

  • Propane Regulator for MB Sturgis 100473 Propane Hose
Yes, you can use the MB Sturgis 100473 hose with a replacement single-stage regulator, which is what it looks like you need based on your photo. For the regulator you will need the Camco Single Stage Propane Regulator # CAM59013. Then for the 100473 hose you can choose the one you need based on the length: - 12 inches: MB Sturgis Propane Hose - RV Type 1 with Back Check x 1/4" MPT # 100473-12 - 15 inches: MB Sturgis Propane Hose - RV Type 1 with Back Check x 1/4" MPT # 100473-15-MBS -...

  • Propane Hose For Camco Single Stage Propane Regulator
Assuming the regulator is being connected to a propane tank with a Type 1 fitting, you'll need a propane hose with a 1/4" MPT connector to connect to the inlet of the Camco Single Stage Propane Regulator # CAM59013. That will depend on the length you need, and you can use either the 20 inch MB Sturgis Propane Hose # 100473-20-MBS or 36 inch MB Sturgis Propane Hose # 100473-36-MBS.

  • Need A 250,000 BTU Dual Stage Auto Change Over Propane Regulator For Pool Heater
The Compact Low Pressure 2-Stage Automatic Changeover RV LP Gas Regulator # 37207-31525 will let you hook up both tanks and can run up to 262,000 BTUs an hour. This is a horizontal unit so you will need to make sure it is mounted in a horizontal position. If you need new hoses you can find some here MB Sturgis Propane Hose w/ Back Check - Type 1 x 1/4" MPT - 36" # 100473-36-MBS

  • Compatibility of Longer Propane Pigtail Hose on Aliner RV
The MB Sturgis Propane Hose w/ Back Check - Type 1 x 1/4" MPT - 36" # 100473-36-MBS is a great replacement for the part you referenced but it isn't quite as high a capacity. Nothing in a traditional RV will require the 450K BTU lines and your regulator will reduce it to likely so the 400K BTU pigtail will work just fine as a replacement. For instance an extremely common regulator is the Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator for Dual Propane Tanks # CAM59005 which will...

  • Is Teflon Tape or Gas Pipe Sealant Needed for the MB Sturgis Propane Hose w/ Back Check
Yes, the MB Sturgis Propane Hose w/ Back Check, # 100473-36-MBS has a 1/4" Male NPT thread and should be installed using a Thread Sealant Tape for Gas Lines, such as # 37207-30025 or Gas Pipe Sealant, # 37207-30555.

  • Parts Needed to Connect the MB Sturgis Regulator # 108221 to a 1991 Coleman Sun Valley
The MB Sturgis Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator # 108221 sounds like it is exactly what you are needing for a replacement regulator. To connect your 20 lb propane tank to the regulator you need a pigtail. Since you have about 3' you need to cover I recommend the 36" MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail # 100473-36-MBS. From here you need a 3/8" MPT on one end and then whatever end connects to your 1991 Coleman Sun Valley. The most popular is either a 1/2" flare swivel like part # 100383-48-MBS...

  • 12 Foot Long Propane Hose to Connect BBQ to Disposable Cylinder Fitting
The large port on your Extend a Stay, basically part # CAM59113, is a male 1 - 20 disposable cylinder connection. To hook your BBQ grille up using that fitting you can use part # 204132-MBS which is an adapter to a Type 1 fitting. Then use a Type 1 hose with a regulator, like part # CAM57721, that's 12 feet long and has a 3/8 female flare to connect to the grill. If these parts don't have the correct fittings let me know.
