Integrated Towing Bar

Swagman Original towing bar

The Swagman Original allows you to pull a small trailer while simultaneously carrying 4 bikes. This leaves your roof available for carrying a cargo box, tent, and other accessories. To tow your trailer, bolt a 2" tow ball (sold separately) to the front of the integrated tow bar.

Steel Plates with Rubber-Cushioned Cradles

Swagman Original 4-bike Hanging-Style Rack Anti-Sway Cradles

The rack has upper and lower steel plates with rubber-cushioned cradles that secure your bikes by the top tube. To install your bikes, set them in the cradles on the lower plate, place the upper plate over the top tubes, and tighten the plates together using the hand knobs.

Swagman Original 4-bike Hanging-Style Rack Rubber Padding

Soft rubber padding inside the cradles protects your bikes from scratches and scuffs. The padding has grooves on the surface that prevent your brake and shifter cables from getting pinched.

Easy Tilting for Cargo Area Access

Swagman Titan 2-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Tilting

The rack tilts down without your bikes loaded. This means you won't have to uncouple your trailer or remove the whole rack to access your cargo area.

Swagman Titan 2-Bike Hanging-Style Rack Lower HitchSwitch Lever

To tilt the rack down, pull out the pin at the base of the rack, lift the mast out of the groove above the pin, and lower it. When you're ready to go, lift the mast up and re-insert the pin to secure it in place.

Threaded Hitch Pin

Swagman Original threaded hitch pin

A threaded hitch pin is included to help eliminate rattle in the hitch receiver during transport. To tighten the pin in your hitch, use a 5/8" wrench (not included). A clip is also included to keep the pin in place.

Available Security and Adapter Bar

Swagman Original threaded hitch pin

An anti-rattle hitch lock (sold separately) is available to secure the rack to your vehicle.

Swagman Original 3-bike Hanging-Style Rack Locks

You can also add a pair of padlocks (sold separately) to secure your bikes to the rack. The plates that hold your bikes in place have holes to accommodate padlocks up to 5/8" in diameter.

Swagman Bike Adapter Bar

If you have a women's bike, kid's bike, or any other bike without a straight, horizontal top tube, you will need an adapter bar (sold separately) to properly mount your bike. The bar fits between the seat post and handlebar stem post of your bike to create a top tube so your bike hangs level on the rack.

Good product. The 350 lbs tongue capacity may be an issue considering the bikes weight and what you intend to haul. I customized a 600 lbs bar to avoid that and meet my hauling needs. Impressive 4 bikes 2’’ hitch solution to be able to use a single rack when using the ball or not.

by:

Works well, easy to use. Ideally it would have a 2" receiver at the end rather than a place for a ball. Be sure to have chain extensions ready when you are towing something.

Works great, Rachael. No problems to report, thanks.

by:

I missed two points when I ordered this bike rack ... 1 is that it is extremely
heavy to lift and 2 the obvious but I missed it that the rack does not drop
down ... like other racks I now own

I was focused on the screw down holder which looks to be fine ... even for
bikes I own that have different size cross bars

The rack does sway from left to right ... just like my other racks ... great
opportunity for Reese or someone to make a anti sway bar that would
anchor on the vehicle hitch and connect to the vertical bike rack bar ..
with a simple disconnect so the rack can be tilted

Great service as usual from the people at eTrailer

by:

We haven't used it yet, but are planning a trip tp the Keys next month. I think it's going to work great.

by:

Bike rack arrived quickly and works well if no height adjustment is needed. The rack would be better if it had a hitch receptacle for height adjustment rather than the ball attaching directly to the rack.

by:

Excellent grip coverage on all four bikes, used adapter for woman's bikes.
Unit did not have a lot of sway , can swing down for access to tailgate,
and can still accept a ball for towing

by:

Perfect for my needs, how ever the ball end of the stem should have a 2" receiver so a drop down bar can be attached to insure proper height for the ball.

Easy to assemble and use, holds bikes tight with almost no wiggle. Sway strap included is a bonus.

Had an initial problem with the base of the rack, but etrailer contacted Swagman and had them send me out a replacement. Works great now. Good customer service, good product.

by:

The bike rack/hitch is strong and easy to use. It towed and held bikes for about 3500 miles no problem

by:

When I received the package, the wrong part was put in the box, I contacted etrailer and they contacted the manufacturer. The replacement part was delivered to my door within days, customer service was excellent!

by:

The product has exceeded my expectations. Very durabIe construction. I mount 3 bikes and then attach a Fleetwood Bayside Pop-Up Camper and the cargo pulls with ease.

by:

Great product, really sturdy, easy to set up and get bikes on and off quickly. Really like the versatility in having the towing capacity.

by:

As usual the product was shipped extremelly quickly from etrailer.com, and arrived in excellent condition. It was easy to assemble and fits perfectly.

I needed a small bike rack for my 5th wheel. I came to etrailer as my trusted source for info and availability since we live full time on the road. Plus these are hard to find in brick and mortar stores since COVID. I ordered the rack on a Sunday and received a confirmation and tracking number before I went to bed!! The package even arrived a day early. The rack is more sturdy than I had expected and look forward to safe transport of my bike. I also like I now have the ability to mount and use it on the rear of my pickup if needed. This is a 5 star rack but gets only 4 stars due to my one issue. The only issue was a small amount of what looks like welding slag in the threaded attachment hole to the trailer. (see picture) Having no other option, I just forced/re-threaded the bolt during installation. Since I hope to not need to remove the rack, I am just hoping for the best in the future.

by:

Product is better and sturdier than I expected. I was shocked at how fast it shipped. It was extremely well packaged. I have not seen this type of care in shipping for a long time. I am very happy with the product especially at the price. It had several features I was looking for:
1. It is rigid to the hitch with no flopping.
2. The bikes can be securely locked to the carrier.
3. The unit can easily be locked to the hitch (with the additional locking bolt that I would recommend purchasing.
4. When not in use it can easily be stored FLAT in the storage area of my RV without taking up a lot of room.

I would highly recommend etrailer and this bike carrier. I will be doing additional business with etrailer in the future!

by:

Excellent product. After installing your heavy-duty 3-bike

carrier, we carried our bicycles over 4,000 miles and they
are still on the back of our 2018 Jayco 43’ 5th wheel trailer.

Thanks for your follow up to our purchase in 2019. Is good business action to follow up on the products you sell.

Happy Trails,

  • Can Swagman XP Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Replacement Cradle 64860 Clamp to Square Tube?
The U-bolt for this replacement cradle would only be stable on a round tube. I would recommend a bike rack that mounts on your ball mount instead of on your kayak trailer. You might try the 4-Bike Swagman # S64675. Another option is a truck bed rack or roof rack. I have included links to those products below.

  • What is the True Tongue Weight Capacity of Swagman Towing Bike Rack S64675
I spoke with my contact at Swagman and she told me that you would have to subtract the weight of the rack and bikes to get the most accurate tongue weight capacity of the Swagman Original, # S64675. So without bikes on the rack, your tongue weight with the rack installed would be 350 pounds. It has a gross trailer weight capacity of 3,500 pounds.

There are a couple of options on tightening the nut on a ball installed at the end of Swagman towing bike carrier # S64675. First, if the nut is the same width as the opening at the end of the carrier then the walls of the shank will prevent the nut from turning. The ball would have to have wrench flats to turn it.
