Approved for use on cars, trucks, vans, SUVs, and motorhomes - not approved for fifth wheels or towable campers

This Curt bike rack makes it easy to carry 2 bikes on the back of your vehicle. The platform-style rack is easier to load than a hanging rack because you don't have to lift your bikes nearly as high to get them into place. Ratcheting hooks and wheel hoops accommodate 2 bikes of most shapes and sizes. The entire rack tilts down for easy access to your cargo area, even while the bikes are loaded. And you can choose between 2 different ways to fold the rack up for storage on your vehicle when it's not in use.

Ratcheting Frame Hooks

Each center mast has 2 ratcheting hooks that move up and down independently of one another. This allows you to carry up to 2 bikes of different heights or with different frame styles. The hooks firmly grip your bikes by the top tubes, and they are cushioned to protect your bike frames from scratches and scuffs. Once you slide the hooks into position, just lock them in place.

Adjustable Wheel Hoops

Curt platform bike rack cradles

Sturdy, adjustable wheel hoops let you carry bikes of different lengths. Use the built-in knobs to loosen the hoops. Then slide the hoops to the desired position along the platform base and tighten them into place.

Tilting and Folding Design

Curt platform bike rack in tilted position

The entire rack can be tilted down - away from your vehicle - so that you can easily access your rear cargo area, even when your bikes are loaded. Just pull the pin at the base of the rack to tilt it down.

Curt platform bike rack storage options

There are 2 ways that you can fold up the rack to store it on your vehicle when it's not in use. Option 1 lets you fold the cradle arms up towards the upright mast. Simply remove the pins and fold up the arms. Then replace the pins to secure the arms in the upright position. Option 2 lets you fold the rack up against the rear of your vehicle. First, lower the center mast by removing its pin and clip at the base and then fold the mast down forward. Then remove the pins from the base of the rack and fold up the carrier.

Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin and Adapter Sleeve

Curt platform bike rack anti-rattle hitch pin

This rack comes with an anti-rattle hitch pin. The threaded pin holds the bike rack in your hitch, and it reduces noise and movement of the rack inside your hitch. An adapter sleeve is included as well, which allows the rack to fit either a 1-1/4" or a 2" hitch receiver. Because this bike rack has a threaded shank, it is not compatible with standard hitch locks.

Video Transcript for Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Curt Two Bike Platform Rack for inch and 1/4 and 2 inch hitches, part number C18085. The Curt Platform Rack can carry up to two bikes, ranging from mountain bikes to road bikes, to some kid bikes and alternate frame bikes as well. One of the best features about this bike rack is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached to gain rear hatch access. To do that, we'll come to the base here, and you'll see there's two pins, one smaller and one larger. The smaller one can hold this in place while we remove the larger pin, like so. Then pushing up slightly on the bike rack we'll pull our smaller pin. Then holding onto the bike rack, not the bikes, we'll let it come down.

Now we have full access to our rear hatch to get what we need, and we have plenty of space on either side to do so. How the bike sits in place and stays in place is going to be this frame hook up at the top, which is padded to ensure there's going to be no scratches or abrasions on the frame of your bike. The frame hooks are ratcheting, so you just push them down in place to hold your bike in place. These frame hooks do lock in place. For an additional security feature, keep your bikes on your bike rack. The wheel cradles are adjustable to accommodate bikes of different sizes, shapes, and to help out with loading and unloading.

The maximum tire width you can have is going to be 3 inches. Now, to put it into suitcase position we're going to have two pins at the base here where our wheel cradles are. You may need to move the wheel cradles out of the way so once you fold this up, it'll go up over this ledge here. We'll release the snapper pin there, pull out the pin, push it up, and line up the holes on the side here and push our pin back through. Now that's something that you would have it in once you're finished using the bike rack and you can take it out and put it in your garage for storage. Now that it's back in the loading position, our final position is going to be it's folded up position or flat position. To do this, we'll have to fold our mast all the way down.

Do that, again, we'll pull this pin at the base of the mast and fold it flat, lining it up with these holes on the side. With it folded flat like this, I would also like to point out at this point you can get rear hatch access to get what you need, and have plenty of space on either side to do so as well. Now, to fold it completely flat up against the vehicle, we'll again come to the base here and remove that larger pin that we did earlier to tilt it away, like so, except this time we'll just simply push it back up. This is the folded position. Now, normally you would have it in the folded position for those close quarter situations such as parking or putting it back in your garage, and you just don't feel like taking your bike rack out. This does work with both class III and class II hitches.

This has a black powder coat finish, which is actually strong, durable, and rust resistant. Now that we've gone over some of the features of the bike rack, let's go ahead and show you how it installs. We'll first place it into the hitch of our vehicle. Lining up the pin holes on the side and installing our anti-rattle bolt. You want to tighten it up to the point where there's no more shake and play in that shank. Right now we have it in the folded up position. To get ready to load up some bikes, we'll come to the base here. Release this pin and clip like so, and we'll let our rack come down. Once we have our little pin holes lined up, push it back through. Now we need to lift up our main mast. Again, we'll come to this pin here. Release it and lift it up, realigning the holes at the base. There's a few things we need to do before we can start loading up our bikes. We'll first, press these buttons at the base of our frame hooks so we can raise them up as high as we can get them. Then we also need to loosen up these wing nuts here at our wheel mounts. This is going to help us better load up the bikes once we have them. Now, before we load our bike into place, a little trick here is we can remove our pin at the base again, let it tilt forward, and be able to set our bike down a little bit easier. Set it in the cradles there. Bring it up, reinsert that pin. Then I can just push our frame hook down on it until it ratchets in place. Now, it looks like our wheel cradles are pretty much where they need to be, so we can tighten those down as well so they don't move. Now we can grab our second bike. Our final step, is we're going to take our included keys here and lock our frame hooks down. Now we can take it out on our test course and show you how it looks. First we'll take it onto our slalom course. This will show you the side to side action, such as making turns or evasive maneuvers. Now we're at the alternating speed bumps. This will show you how it looks driving on uneven pavement or potholes. Finally, we're at the solid speed bumps, which simulates going into your driveway or parking lots. There you have it for the Curt Two Bike Platform Rack for inch and 1/4 and 2 inch hitches, part number C18085.

It's a fair priced quality bike rack. It is easy to assemble, fast shipping & clear instructions. The only thing that I was concerned with is it seems to sag a little on the right side when it's loaded (I would've gave it 5 stars if it wasn't for this issue). Maybe, I need to strap it to the receiver hooks. I was a little disappointed that it was made in china unlike my curt reciever. I guess that's how it is in a globalized society. 402592

Great price. Ordered Saturday evening and delivered on Wed (MI). Solid packaging, a lot of cardboard. Assembled in 15-20 min. Appears well made. Will report back on performance over summer. 469683

Great entry level rack for our two bikes Mens Mtn and Womens Cruiser. Love ratcheting adjustable lock downs. Its not pretty but does the trick for local transport. A little sway/vibration on uneven pavements. Overall very pleased after one year.

Rack arrived on time and with no damage to the box or rack. The assembly was very easy with good to follow instructions. My wife and I had the rack put together and on the back of our SUV in about 45 minutes total time from opening the box to fitting our bikes.Great Product - Great Service - Great Customer Care 375916

Perfect bike rack for my Wife and Myself. My wife and I own both beach cruisers and mountain bikes. The frame geometries on them are very different and the rack accommodates both. What's more is my Wife's bike frame on both of her bikes is a mixte, which makes using a hanger rack impossible. This rack is easier on the bikes anyway. The rack itself is very well made and looks like it will last a long time. One of the best things was the price and no shipping charge. I saved more money on a better rack than what I could get at the bike shop. Actually, the hitch AND rack together were cheaper! 494302

After reading the good reviews on this product I decided to purchase it. After my first drive with my bicycles mounted to this I could tell I was not going to be satisfied with the product. First off it moves around while driving A LOT. Second I tighten all of the knobs down as tight as I can possibly get them on the 4 tire hoops and the 2 frame hooks and by the time I get where I am going they have all loosened up and the bikes are not secure anymore. The only redeeming thing was the quality of customer service from etrailer. 376933

Product worked as advertised hitch was easy to put install, on line guide video was great, bike rack was easy to put together and install. Bikes fit great. Took for a drive with bikes loaded and no wobble or vibration noted. Pic,s follow 379093

I haven't taken this down the road yet, but it appears to be well thought out and made. It went together easyily and the instructions were easy to follow. It had a nice tight fit in the receiver. The only complaint I have is that the piece that slides into the receiver was a little too long for mine. (About 1/4 inch) I have a drawtite model 24886. I had to put a notch in the bottom of the piece that slides into the receiver because there is a spot weld inside my receiver that it hits, otherwise and the bolt hole would not line up. Other than that, so far I am happy with it. 492942

Keith, Thank you for your review. The draw-tite hitch part # 24886 is a class 1 hitch. The tab on the inside of the trailer hitch receiver is built in for safety reasons. The manufacturer wants to ensure that the user only uses class 1 accessories in the hitch. Class I receivers cannot handle much weight especially if that weight is sticking out further from the receiver. Eventually it could damage the receiver or accessory, such as your bike rack part # C18085. This curt bike rack part C18085 is a class 2 and 3 accessory. It is not designed to fit into a class 1 hitch. For a class 1 compatible 2 bike platform rack I recommend part # S64650

Very nice, sturdy bike rack. I needed a new rack because my old one was leaving scratches on my new truck getting the inside bike on and off. The distance between my tailgate and this bike rack is clearly wider so no problems with this one. Interpreting the assembly instructions was a little challenging but I got through it. This thing does have some weight to it (I think 48 lbs.) so if you're a weakling you might have mounting problems. I was hoping to be able to hang this on a wall for storage but it may be too heavy for that. So, I have to figure out storage but that's not a major concern. Took it for our first trip this week and this carrier performed great. Getting the bikes off and on was pretty easy (once I figured out which bike had to go on which side and how they had to be oriented). Definitely a step up from what I had before and at a reasonable price. 444223

Installing hitch takes longer than adding Bikes. But that makes for little wobble, thanks to Anti rattle hitch pin. Lock on clamps are nice but you will need cable to lock rack to car. 404192

This does not work well for our car. It shakes a lot and is not steady. On my husbands jeep it works better. It even vibrayed the bike right off the rack. I don't recommend this. 387721

I made two different purchases from etrailer and George J. I am extremely pleased with my trailer hitch receiver. It is exactly what I need to transport our bikes from point A to B. I also bought a bike rack that I am extremely happy with. It is sturdy and easy to use. The etrailer website is very user friendly and I appreciate the videos that help me get a clear picture of various products. The company communicates clearly and keeps me updated on shipping and delivery and they follow through on their timelines. I will definitely use them again! 549522

This bike rack sways and wobbles because the insert to the hitch is very small, there is a plastic adapter so it fits in the receiver which I hope it will not crack or break because that will only mean one thing.....garbage! I only drive a 8 mile round trip to my usual bike trail-head so I am okay with it, but I don't think I would go on a long trip with it, seems a bit flimsy and not sure how well it will hold up wobbling for hours. I am also having difficulties moving the top bars up and down (they hold the bike securely in place) and one of the locks do not work. But then again the cost was much less than others so maybe that is the trade off. For now, it is serving its purpose. It was easy to put together, I like the compact feature so I can store it easily when not in use. 469926

Ordered and received and 1 1/4" etrailer hitch for our 2007 Forester on the advice of a co-worker, to find it fit like a glove! Arrived less than one week after we ordered it. Every single bolt center, thread pitch, exhaust and fuel vapor canister mount location was taken into account, and the offset angle of the rigid hitch frame allowed for installation exactly as shown in the installation instructions and it mated exactly to the car frame! Nice. Next was to purchase the ultimate goal, a solid durable, bike rack. We ordered the Curt 2-Bike Platform rack from etrailer. I think this is equally as impressive as the hitch was. Assembled smoothly, all the hardware was correct, assembly instructions were simple and complete, all the parts appeared to be thoroughly powder-coat painted, and like the hitch before it, it fits perfectly and the tilt-out angle makes cargo space access as easy as we had hoped. Kudos Etrailer!! You have impressed someone who is not easily impressed. I would and will recommend your products to anyone who asks. Thank you!! 520405

I have used this rack for about a year. I am very happy with it. With experience, it has gotten very easy to mount the rack on the car and particularly easy to load bikes on the rack. The sway of the rack while we are driving is quite minimal. I like the way the rack folds down to allow access to our Subaru Outback trunk; though I don't even need to lower it to open the rear gate enough to squeeze in to quickly get something. My only disappointment is that the safety clips on many of the pins are very difficult to release if I don't have a screwdriver handy (and that risks scratching the paint). 540589

I installed this rack on a 2015 BMW X3 with a Curt 2" receiver. The installation went OK except that the spring retaining clips in several cases need to opened with a screwdriver vs by hand. Here are some of my comments. First is the retaining bolt was very difficult to install with the wrench provided (see Photo) you can not turn the bolt very far with any wrench. I used a driver and a 19mm socket. I then bought one to have in the car. Second, our bikes have different cross bar heights, so it was not possible to put the larger bike on the inside closest to the vehicle (see Photo). The clip the holds the bikes in place could not go down enough with the larger bike on the inside so switching them solved that issue. Third the draw bar portion does not have a stop to help line up the holes for the retaining bolt. This was solved by putting orange tape on the bar to help with alignment. A good feature is that with the bike retaining clips all the way down the back hatch can be opened without any adjustment to the rack. Also the rack did not impact the foot opening switch for the back hatch. The rack did very well in our first test drive. 544441

I had purchased the older model a couple of years ago and have been happy with a lot of highway miles hauling two mountain bikes weighing @ 30lbs each. Fast forward, someone rear ended me. Rack was bent, but saved my car. Bent rack back to usable, however I don't trust it since it was bent. Purchased newer model and so far, its very nice and sturdy. Only time will tell if it holds up to hopefully many more bike trips. Usually 2-3 times a week @ 1-2 hr trips. Purchase with confidence. Also shipping was super fast. Tx 428580

Thank you so much for your review. I hope everyone is ok! Just a quick note for future customers ? when your vehicle has been involved in an accident, the manufacturer recommends that you replace the hitch or hitch accessory due to potential unseen damage resulting from the collision.

The product came on time and was well packaged with all the material needed. My wife and I put it together in no time. It appears to be well built and I love the locking padded hold downs and the tip down feature all for a great price. I may buy some Velcro straps for the tires but really, I don't think they will go anywhere. I'm also going to look into a lock for the hitch pin. We will be taking a trip soon and I will know more then but to start, I'm very satisfied. 671128

I had to buy an hitch extender. The carrier should have a center line measurement from the attach bolt hole to the vertical rack attach point. buyers can than measure the distance the spare tire extends from the hitch attach point and determine if an extender is required. 636871

I purchased this product for both long and short trips. I now wished I'd spent more money on a Thule rack instead. This one is cumbersome to put on and take off the vehicle, it shakes too much while traveling, and because of that, the bike frame gets the paint rubbed off because the cheap foam that is supposed to protect the bike didn't last one month intact. I'm giving it 2 stars because it does transport the bikes safely. 555175

I just got it. took me awhile to put it together since I am not mechanically inclined. I think I got it though , have yet to put it on my car. Had to get a locking pin. 543899

One year, still love it. We still can't seem to remember which bike goes on first but the wheel brackets are so easy to adjust that it doesn't matter. My wife (not mechanically inclined) can even get it on and off the car by herself. We did get a threaded bolt/pin with a lock to secure it to our hitch and it rides quietly with or without any bikes on it. I even used it when I was a support vehicle driver for our CT bike MS event and it easily fit any bike out there. Great Product, Thanks 539500

Just assembled the bike rack and so far so good. It was missing a small piece of hardware for the anti-rattle, but I just went and picked one up at the hardware store, so no big deal. We haven't put the bikes on it yet, but it seems like it'll be very sturdy. 496673

Hitch to rack pin is threaded to reduce rattling which is good. Yet, it isn't lockable. If you want my bikes and the rack, all you need is an Allen wrench to remove. Otherwise good set up. 494034

I’m giving 5 stars for this product new and set up out of the box. Easy to set up, heavy duty and better quality than I expected. I mounted a 2” hitch to my Grand Caravan and this unit uses a shim to gap up from 1 1/4”. That could be my only concern the more I use it. (Concerned about wear on the shin). I’m also very excited that it easily fits my LWB recumbent. My bike has 52” centers and this can easily accommodate 60-65” centers. So far, really impressed for the money. 475564

  • Locking Anti-rattle Pin Recommendation for Curt Tilting 2-Bike Rack # C18085
  • We have tested the Sportrack Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock for SportRack Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # SR0901 and confirmed the fit with the Curt bike racks like the part # C18085 that you mentioned.

  • Hitch Bike Rack Recommendation for 2015 Toyota Prius
  • With the Curt Class I hitches you have to use the stabilizer strap when carrying a non-supported load like a bike rack otherwise you will void the hitch warranty. The easy solution for that is to go with a Draw Tite hitch part # 24967 instead as this hitch does not have that requirement and would work well with the Curt bike rack part # C18085 you mentioned. In this price range the Hollywood Racks # HR200Z is a way more solid option that I would recommend for you over the Curt. This...

  • Platform Bike Rack that Will Clear Back of 2017 Lexus RX 350 when Loaded
  • When we installed Curt trailer hitch # C13272 on a 2017 Lexus RX 350 the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the rear of the vehicle was indeed 5 inches (see video linked below). The Swagman XC bike rack # S64650 measures approximately 12-1/2 inches from the center of the pin hole to the center of the wheel hoops closest to the vehicle. This means that the bike would likely make contact with the vehicle at some point (more likely at the pedals since the bumper sticks out...

  • Carrying Two Fat Bikes with the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack with Adapters
  • If the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack, part # C18085 can carry two fat bikes will be determined by the weight of the bikes. Each position is limited to 45 pounds, and the individual bikes in this position can't exceed this weight capacity, even with the fat bike adapters, part # C18091 equipped onto the rack. If you're buying for two fat bikes, you can save a little bit by buying the dual Fat Bike kit, part # C18085-FB. If you have heavier fat bikes, and this rack won't work for you, I recommend...

  • Recommended Hitch-Mounted 2 Bike Rack for 2017 Toyota RAV4
  • For a hitch-mounted bike rack to transport your two bikes with your 2017 Toyota RAV4, I recommend looking at the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack # S64683. This is a great bike rack that has a similar platform-design to the Swagman # S64650 referenced in your question but with a weight capacity of 45 pounds per bike. This particular rack has a few really nice features, such as its ability to tilt down with the bikes still loaded for easy rear cargo access and the included, built-in...

  • Locking Hitch Pin Recommendation for Curt Bike Racks
  • We have tested the Sportrack Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock for SportRack Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # SR0901 and confirmed the fit with the Curt Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting # C18085. This threaded hitch pin and lock will work great with your Curt Bike Rack.

  • Recommended Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver and Lock Compatible With Curt Bike Rack
  • The Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack # C18085 comes with the threaded anti-rattle hitch pin, but it does not have a locking option for that rack. There isn't a locking hitch that fits that pin, so I recommend using a cable lock like # CAB-10 or # C23666 and running the cable through the safety chain loops of the hitch to secure the bikes and the rack.

  • How to Use the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack Part # C18085 on a 2015 Ford Fusion
  • The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C12091 is a confirmed fit for your 2015 Ford Fusion and will work well for you. It is a Class II hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening. It is also very easy to install as you can see in the attached video. In regards to the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack part # C18085, you will have no problems using this bike rack with the Curt hitch on your Fusion. However, you will not be able to fold the rack up for storage (see photo) as there will not be sufficient...

  • Will Anti-Rattle Lock Work With 2 Inch Hitch on 2018 Kia Sportage?
  • The SportRack Hitch and Cable Lock # A32022 would absolutely work with the 2 inch Draw-Tite # 76074 that you are getting for your 2018 Kia Sportage. It is compatible with the Curt Bike Rack # C18085 that you have as well so you would be good to go.

  • Will There be Enough Clearance to Open a Tailgate With the Curt Tilting Bike Rack
  • The Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack, # C18085, is designed to tilt away from the vehicle to gain access to the rear cargo area. The rack usually will clear the rear tailgate that swing upward on SUVs. However, on the rear of pickup, the tailgate may not clear the bikes since the tailgate is folding down toward the rack. I recommend the RockyMounts BackStage 2 bike Platform Rack, # RKY10002. This bike rack is both a tilting and swinging bike rack. The RockyMounts BackStage will allow you to...

  • Can the Curt Platform Bike Rack C18085 Work With Womens Bikes
  • The Curt hitch you have part # C13119 would work great with the Curt Bike Rack part # C18085 that you are interested in. The arms of this bike rack would work great with a womens bike as it would be able to slide down far enough to allow it to reach the lower down tube that a womens bike frame would have. If you check out the picture I attached you can see a woman's bike on the rack. The pink bike on the rack is a woman's bike with a lower down tube.

  • Will Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack Work With E-Bikes With The Batteries Removed
  • The Curt hitch # C12108 is a fit for your 2017 RAV4. This is a Class ll trailer hitch and it has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. One note of caution is per Curt all non-trailer items used in the hitch require a stabilizing strap like part # 18050. This can really be a hassle because the strap needs to be attached to the vehicle and it can be tough finding a place to attach it. I recommend going with the Class lll hitch # 75235. This hitch has a higher capacity and it has a 2 inch receiver...

  • Platform Bike Rack Recommendation for Use at Rear of RV
  • At the rear of a trailer or RV the ride quality is very rough when compared to the ride quality at the rear of a passenger vehicle. Reason being the suspension isn't as sophisticated and there is a longer distance between the rear axle and the rear of the trailer which exaggerates the movement of the trailer when hitting bumps. Because of that only a few bike racks were designed to be reinforced enough for that type of use. The most similar bike rack to the Curt you mentioned that is...

  • Best Economically Priced 2-Bike Platform Bike Rack
  • The # C18085 is the replacement for the C18084 that you referenced. It is a pretty new update so that's why you aren't seeing it elsewhere. Some improvements were made, but in this price range the best option is the Hollywood Racks part # HR200Z. This rack works extremely well and is also incredibly stable on the road too which is almost unheard of at this price range. Check out the test course video I attached to see more on that.

  • Will Curt or Swagman Platform Bike Rack Allow Rear Hatch of 2016 Jeep Cherokee to Open with Bikes on
  • The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13172 is confirmed to fit your 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I've linked an install video for you. The Curt Platform Bike Rack # C18085 will fit with the Curt hitch receiver. We've tested it on a Cherokee with the 4-bike setup and there is enough clearance to open the rear hatch. See the video I've linked on a 2017 Cherokee. The Swagman XC # S64650 will also work well on the Curt receiver. However, this isn't a tilting rack so the Jeep's hatch...

  • Platform Bike Rack Recommendation for 65 lb Electric Bike
  • The Curt Bike Rack # C18085 that you referenced has a weight capacity of 45 lbs per bike so a better option for your 65 lb electric bikes is the Hollywood Racks bike rack that is designed for e-bikes part # HR1450Z-E which has a capacity of 80 lbs per bike.

  • Best Value 2-bike Trailer Hitch Rack with Locks for a 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche
  • I recommend the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack # C18085. This rack fits 1-1/4" and 2" trailer hitches and is easy to install. This rack is designed to tilt without removing your bikes for easy access to your tailgate. Since this rack is economically priced you can also pick up some locks # C18090 without straining your budget. If you're interested in a hanging style bike rack, I definitely recommend the high quality Thule # TH912XTR Tilting 2-Bike rack that fits 1-1/4" and 2" trailer...

  • Comparing the Trail Rider # HR200Z and the Curt # C18085 Bike Racks for a 2018 Buick Encore
  • For starters both bike racks are compatible with the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36554 on your 2018 Buick Encore. You will want to take a measurement from the center of the hitch pin thole to the rearmost part of your bumper though as that is a factor. Both the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider # HR200Z and the Curt # C18085 are very similar in every way. They can secure up to 2 bikes that weigh 45 lbs each by the frame with their hooks and they measure 12-1/2" from the center of the...

  • Installing the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack
  • The Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack, part # C18085 is a fairly easy install. To install it, you'll simply insert it into the receiver, then secure it with the included anti-rattle bolt using the included tool. I do recommend getting a full sized ratchet though, as it will install the bolt much faster than the included tool. I've attached a video review of this rack, and at about the 3:20 mark, you can watch one of our reviewers putting the rack onto the vehicle so you can get familiar with...

  • Affordable Bike Rack Options for a 2012 Kia Soul with a 1-1/4 Trailer Hitch
  • When it comes to hitch mount bike racks there are 2 styles to choose from, platform and hanging. The platform style lets you rest the bike in some sort of cradle and the typically has a ratcheting arm that secures the bike. The hanging style uses arms with cradles that you rest your bikes on. In the platform category we have the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack # C18085 which has a very basic design and has a ratcheting arm that secures the bikes by their frame. It has tilt away and folding...

  • The threads for the anti rattle hitch pin are in the shank of the bike rack and the threaded hitch pin extends through the receiver to engage the threads in the 1-1/4 inch shank. The 2 inch adapter is positioned so that the hitch pin threads into the 1-1/4 inch shank and extends through the adapter on the opposite side.

  • Platform Bike Rack for a Road Bike and Cannondale Tandem.
  • I have two great options for you for your bikes, the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider, part # HR1000Z-R and the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack, part # C18085 . The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider has a weight capacity of 45lbs per bike and carries a maximum wheelbase of 74 inches. It rides 8-1/2 inches behind the vehicle when folded down, clearing most bumpers and spare tires. Additionally, the wheel hoops are completely adjustable and can fit a wide range of bikes. It is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Trike Carrier for 1 Trike and 1 Bike - 2" Hitches Item # HR1450Z-R-TRKADP2. The adapter to carry trikes is included. It is also able to carry a regular bike at the same time! So a little added bonus.

  • Will Curt Bike Rack C18085 Clear Rear Bumper of 2014 Chevy Cruze with Curt Hitch Installed
  • The Curt bike rack # C18085 that you referenced has 12-1/2 inches from the center of it's hitch pin hole to the nearest portion of the bike rack so it would easily clear the 8 inches you have from the hitch pin hole to the back of the bumper. Curt requires the use of their stabilizer strap part # 18050 when using their hitch to carry a non-supported load like a bike rack. I attached a review video for you to check for the strap as well.

  • Yes, the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack part # C18085 will be sufficient for use on the front of your 2008 Ford F-350 with a front mount trailer hitch. I recommend the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C31008 because it is American made, no drilling is required, and only minor trimming is involved (see photo). In fact, hitch mounted accessories on the front of the vehicle would actually be more sturdy than those on the rear as the distance from the front axle to the trailer hitch...

  • Will a 29er with XL Frame Fit Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack # C18085
  • Your 29er will fit the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack # C18085. But you may need to position the hooks so that the taller hook is on top. Another option is to use a bike rack that doesn't hold the bike at the frame. The BikeWing # B01311 holds the bikes at the wheels only. It will work with bikes that have a wheelbase of 22 inches to 50 inches. I have linked a video review for you.
