Question:
going to order a trailer hitch for my 2007 honda accord. c11290 trunk mount. also going to order bike rack s64670 for two bikes. my question is i have an electric bike that weighs 50 pounds and a regular bike that weighs about 25 or 30 pounds. the bike rack s64670 says rated for 70 pounds. do you think thats to much weight for this bike rack and hitch.

Helpful Expert Reply:
For your application I recommend going with the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting # C18085 because it is compatible with a Class I hitch like the Curt Trailer Hitch # C11290 for your 2007 Honda Accord, and it has a weight capacity of 45 lbs per bike.
Since the Swagman XTC-2 # S64670 that you referenced is only compatible with up to 35 lb bikes and you have a 50 lb bike then you cannot safely use this combination. When you remove the battery on your electric bike it should be enough to get your bike under that 45 lb weight limit.

hi jon just had a question about bike rack hr1000z. wondering if its ok to use this rack with hitch 11290 because the bike rack says frame mount in parentheses. does that mean the hitch has to be mounted to the frame. thank you jon
