Tilting Platform Bike Rack that Can Fit Curt Hitch of 2017 Mazda CX-3

Updated 02/04/2026 | Published 01/30/2026

Question:

Is this rack, Swagman XTC2 tilt compatible with Curt 114183 hitch? I noticed the specs on bike rack indicates it is for class 2. I have a 2017 Mazda CX3.

Hey Jose, I have a solution for you, but the Swagman XTC2 Tilt part # S64671 will not work with Class I hitches like the Curt part # C11418 that fits your 2017 Mazda CX-3. So instead you'd want the Curt part # C18085 which is a very similar platform rack that can also tilt down and is Class I hitch compatible like you would need.

I think the Class rating of your hitch refers to the total weight capacity. How many bikes are you planning to haul? How much do your bike(s) weight? I have a class 1 1.25" hitch and I am able to carry 2 e bikes with a total weight under 100lbs. No off road or back road trips allowed. You have the typical dilemma of the class 1 hitch....not enough capacity. Find a weight capacity for your hitch. Disclaimer: I am not an engineer. However, this worked for me.

@RussB Generally yes the Class relates to the capacity. Most of the time it's a pretty standard number and Class I means it has a 200 lb tongue weight capacity.
