Will Trailer Hitch and Cargo Carrier Be Useful on 2024 Honda Civic Touring

I want to install an 1 1/4 inch hitch and then use the 1 1/4 inch hitch cargo carrier. I only want to place lighter items such as clothes and other soft items in a 2024 honda civic touring. the dealer expressed doubts about this being useful on this car.

Hello again Dennis; it really depends on what your max tongue weight is on the 2024 Honda Civic. The Curt # C92UR has a max tongue weight of 200 lbs. A cargo carrier like the # C18145 and # C18110 will take up 30 lbs of that leaving you with 170 lbs of the hitch capacity to carry your clothes and other items.
Assuming the vehicle capacity is the same or similar (you're limited by whichever capacity is lower) I would say that is pretty useful. The cargo carriers for a 1-1/4" hitch aren't massive but it can make a big difference if you have that extra space to carry additional items on the back.
