  • Best Cargo Basket And Hitch Extender For 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Yes, it would be wise to grab the 8 inch extender # e88YR but the Reese Cargo Carrier # 63153 isn't what you want. It lacks the tilting feature which also means it cannot fold up to your 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited when not in use. The etrailer Cargo Carrier # e98874 can tilt and fold up! That's a feature I use alot because I don't like having to take the carrier in and out that often. With the 8 inch extension, you should be able to fold it up with no problem! If it were me, I would...

  • How is Tongue Weight of Trailer Hitch Impacted With Cargo Carrier and Extension
Hi Rick; the tongue weight capacity of the # DT52GR is 300 lbs. If you use a cargo carrier, bike rack, other accessories, or tow a trailer with a standard ball mount it will be the same 300 lb capacity. If the accessory or ball mount has an extended shank that won't reduce the capacity. However, as soon as you use any kind of extension like # e88YR you can expect it to cut the capacity. This does vary depending on the hitch extender so you would need to check based on who makes it. If...

  • Extended Ball Mount For Class A RV To Pull a Tow Dolly With Van
Rather than using an Extension # e88YR you might consider using a extended ball mount. We have a couple different lengths depending on how much distance you will need to your Dolly # DM9713093. The distances listed below are from the center of the hitch pin to the center of the hole for mounting a hitch ball. 15-3/4" Ball Mount # 80232 13" Ball Mount # C45270 11" Ball Mount # 40345 If you can provide me with some more information about the length you need and what size ball your dolly...

  • Can a Brush Guard and Front Trailer Hitch Receiver Be Installed on a 2003 Ford F-250?
Most applications will not allow for both a brush guard and front receiver to be utilized together but looking at what is available for your 2003 Ford F-250 you do have an option. Both our Westin # 40-0225 and Aries # AA3045 grill guards are going to mount at the bumper while the Curt Front Receiver # C31014 is going to mount to the bottom of the frame. So the installation connections for your truck are not going to interfere with each other. You will still need to consider what hitch...

  • Carrying a Scooter and Carrier While Towing a Trailer Behind an RV
The first thing to check is to make sure the scooter carrier you have is rated for use at the back of an RV. Due to the distance from the rear axle to the back of an RV (which is longer than on a passenger vehicle) there is considerably more bouncing (like being at the back of a school bus). This additional stress creates a lot of stress on the hitch and the carrier. If the carrier is rated for use at the back of an RV then what might work for you is the multipurpose ball mount, # D210....

  • Hitch Extender for Jeep Wrangler With Receiver Mounted Bike Rack
On your Yakima FullSwing 4-bike rack the distance between the end of the receiver and the upright portion of the bike rack is about 8-1/2". (I have attached a picture illustrating this.) You would have to measure the depth of your spare tire to see if it will fit normally. I suspect it will be too close, but if it is, you can use the 8" etrailer # 80307 hitch extender if you have a 2" square receiver opening. If you have a 1-1/4" square receiver opening you can use the 7" Curt # D189...

  • Can Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack Use Hitch Extender
Hi there Kay; you can use a hitch extender with the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack # TH83JV. Keep in mind, the use of an extender like the # e88YR will reduce the capacity of your hitch by 50%. As long as your hitch can still hold the bike rack and bikes with this 50% reduction it won't be a problem. I also recommend grabbing the etrailer Hitch Receiver Lock # e98881 for the extender to keep your bike rack secure.

  • Can a Hitch Extender Be Used With The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 2024 Toyota Crown
When you use a Hitch Extender # e88YR with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C77ZV on your 2024 Toyota Crown it is important to remember the extender reduces the receiver weight capacity by 50%. So rather than being able to hold 350lbs it reduces to 175lbs minus the weight of the Extender(12lbs) to get 163lbs maximum for your bike rack and bikes. With the low ride height of your Toyota I recommend staying away from the hitch extender and selecting the Yakima StageTwo Bike Rack # Y47VR...

  • Will The Hollywood Racks Destination E Bike Rack Clear The Spare Tire On 2021 Jeep Wrangler?
You should not need an extension for the Hollywood Racks Destination E Bike Rack # HLY66ZR to fit on your 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport. We installed this on a 2021 2-door Wrangler which I have included the install video linked near the bottom of the page where you can see it clears the spare tire even when folded up. You can always measure from the center of your hitch pin to the back of the tire as well to be sure if you have an oversized spare. You need 7" from the center of the...

  • 2" Trailer Hitch Extension Around 7" Capable Of Working With Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack
You should be able to use the etrailer Hitch Extender # e88YR with the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack # HLY64FR. You will need to ensure the receiver on your class A RV motorhome is rated for at least twice as much weight as bike rack(64lbs) and your bikes. This is due to the extension reducing capacity by 50%. So with bikes weighing 64lbs each that would require a receiver rated for at least 384lbs of tongue weight. For 80lb bikes which is the maximum the bike rack can carry you need...

  • Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier with Tilting Function for a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
The 24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # e98874 is a great option. It is 24"x60", made of steel and has the tilting function you are looking for. It has a measurement of 9.5" from the center of the hitch pin hole to closest edge of carrier when folded up. There is a good chance you will not have enough clearance from your spare tire for this to fit when folded. But that is the largest distance we have for a tilting carrier. You could look into a hitch extender like the # e88YR....

  • Recommended Hitch Extension to Clear a Spare Tire on a Ford Bronco
Hey Steve! I am going to give you a couple of options, because I don't know how far back your hitch pin hole is from the edge of your spare tire. The closest part of the RockyMounts BackStage Bike Rack item # RKY10002 is 7", from the hitch pin hole, when folded up. What you'll need to do is measure from your Bronco's hitch pin hole to the edge of your spare tire and subtract 6". This will give you a margin for movement of the bike rack so it's not bouncing off your spare. Whatever number...

The TorkLift Lock and Load SideKick Cargo Tray, part # TLA7901 will work with your Coleman Pulse 1850 generator based on the dimensions you gave me. The minimum height for the # TLA7901 is 16-1/2 inches which you said your generator is. The tray measures 21-1/4 inches x 16-1/8 inches and with the offset handle on your generator will still work with the crossbar that secures the generator on the tray. This is designed to fit 2 inch receiver openings. The distance from the hitch pin hole...

  • Adapter & Reducer Sleever For 3 Inch Hitch to Use Bike Rack With 2 Inch Shank
I would definitely go in a different direction to use your bike rack with a 2 inch shank in your 3 inch receiver. There's a simple solution which is just to use a 3 inch to 2 inch adapter sleeve and then a 2 inch hitch extender and you're set. So the best option is going to be the following: - Trailer Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves - 3" to 2-1/2" or 2" # e33YR - Trailer Hitch Extender for 2" Hitch Receivers - 8" Long # e88YR Just put the sleeves in to turn your 3 inch hitch into a 2...

  • Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter Recommendation for Flat Towing a 2009 Saturn Vue
I would recommend you use a Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver # RM-077-2. This product has a towing capacity of 10,000 lbs and should have no problem flat-towing your 2009 Saturn VUE that weights approximately 5,000 lbs. When in use you will want the tow bar to be sitting as level as possible. If the tow bar is not level you may experience handling problems and tire wear issues on the front tires of the towed vehicle. I attached an FAQ on flat towing vehicle for you to check out also.

  • How to Determine if Thule EasyFold Bike Rack Could Clear Rear Spare of Jeep Wrangler
From the hitch pin hole of the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202 to the upright portion of the carrier measures 8 inches. So you'd need to measure from the hitch pin hole of your Wrangler out to the furthest point out on the rear spare and if that distance is more than 8 inches this rack would not clear. If you need more clearance we have an 8 inch hitch extender with the part # e88YR which would work great most likely, but you have to keep in mind that extenders cut the capacity of the hitch...

  • 2016 4Runner OEM Trailer Hitch Compatiblity With Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack
You can use a hitch extender like the Blue Ox # BX88265 or the etrailer # e88YR. This will reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 50 percent when using an adapter, but your hitch should be sturdy enough for this not to be an issue with the Thule T2 Pro XTR # TH96TX for 2 or 4 bikes or the # TH83JV for 2 bikes. This will make your hitch compatible with your bike rack. There is currently not an option available from our manufacturers for replacing the OEM hitch.

  • Cargo Carrier Recommendation for Jeep Wrangler
The Curt Cargo Carrier # C18113 is going to provide 6-1/2" of clearance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the front of the basket. A better choice, that will provide approximately 11" of clearance from the center of the hitch pin to the front of the basket is the Curt # C18150 and 10" from the rear bumper to the front edge of the basket (with a factory hitch). In addition to the added clearance, it's a bit larger to provide more space for storage. These measurements are taken using...

Yes, the etrailer hitch extender part # e88YR would work to allow you to use the OEM hitch of your 2022 Subaru Outback with the Thule T2 Pro XTR part # TH83JV which has the auto pin setup. This will move the hitch opening for the rack out 8 inches which would be enough for the auto pin not to interfere with your bumper.

When considering the rear bumper and spare tire clearance when using the Kuat Beta - Aluminum Folding 2 Bike Rack for 2" Trailer Hitches # B202-2, it truly depends on two different factors: where your hitch installs on your Wrangler and the width of your spare tire. On the Beta, since the distance from the center pinhole of the upright of the rack measures 7-1/2 inches long, that is the length that determines if you need a hitch extender. • Can a Hitch Extender be Used with Malone Hanger Bike Rack on a 2005 Hyundai Tucson
That Malone bike rack MPG2124 really does have sort of a backwards lean doesn't it. I looked through the literature for the bike rack and there is nothing stating that you can't use an extension and since that is the only way the rack will clear the back of your 2005 Hyundai Tucson you would have to use an extension. Like you said, the use of an extension reduces the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent. For hitch # 13526 the tongue weight capacity is normally 350...

  • Comparing Hitch Extenders and Ball Mounts
The short answer is that # e88YR is a hitch extender while # BM20 is a ball mount. Using a longer ball mount will not reduce your towing capacity while a hitch extender's tow capacity will be reduced by half. The other disadvantage of using the hitch extender is that there will be that extra potential breaking point between the extension and the hitch. Eliminating this means less towing noise and rattle by using the ball mount instead. Your hitch's maximum tow weight rating can usually...
