Hey Steve! I am going to give you a couple of options, because I don't know how far back your hitch pin hole is from the edge of your spare tire. The closest part of the RockyMounts BackStage Bike Rack item # RKY10002 is 7", from the hitch pin hole, when folded up.

What you'll need to do is measure from your Bronco's hitch pin hole to the edge of your spare tire and subtract 6". This will give you a margin for movement of the bike rack so it's not bouncing off your spare. Whatever number you get is going to be how long of an extension you need.

Please note that any extension is going to reduce your hitches capacity by 50%. I have listed some options below:

7" item # HE06

8" Long item # RKY10011

Hey Steve, how did things turn out once you measured the distance from your Bronco’s hitch pin hole to the spare tire? Your results could really help others trying to fit the BackStage rack with larger tires.

I’m in the same predicament. I own a Bronco 2022 Badlands with Sasquatch with factory hitch package. I have a 35” spare on the back. By your direction, I have measured from the pin hole on the car hitch to the face of the tire (not including rear camera) and I measure 12.5”, and then minus 6” to determine 6.5” needed to extend. So the HE06 will give me 7” of extension. All good so far? I have two full suspension mountain bikes both weighing around 30 - 35lb each. I’m looking at purchasing the Rockymounts Afterparty with swing arm. Will the weight allowance (-50%) be okay?

@ChrisM It sure will! Your Bronco has a 350 lbs tongue weight capacity. The 7" Hitch Extender item # HE06 will reduce it to 175 lbs. The RockyMounts AfterParty Swing Away Bike Rack item # RKY37ZR weighs only 60 lbs. So you'll have 115 lbs of capacity leftover for your mountain bikes!
