Question:
I purchased a 2inch Curt e-trailer hitch from you in 2023. Its for a Honda CRV Hybrid Sport front wheel drive. Manuel rear lift gate. I found out later that there was no tow rate on the CRV Hybrid so I put it away brand new thinking I will wait. Now its 2026 and Im buying the CRV Hybrid Sport all wheel drive. Im assuming this will fit. However it has the kick lift gate. Its not a big deal since I can use the remote. However, it does come in handy.Suggestions?

Hi Will,
The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e98848 is a confirmed fit on both the 2023 Honda CRV Hybrid and the 2026 Honda CRV Hybrid so you can install it on your new car! It will bolt straight to the frame, but the exhaust will need to be dropped to install it, and a small section of the bumper cover will need to be trimmed for the receiver to stick through.
For the hands free/kick lift gate, you should still be able to use it but will need to kick your foot to either side of the receiver tube instead of directly underneath it. If the hitch does block the sensor, you'll need to use the remote to open the lift gate.
If you need wiring to tow with your 2026 Honda CRV Hybrid, you can use the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness w/4-way Flat part # C56370 that works with both the AWD and FWD models. It will plug straight into your vehicle's existing wiring and tuck behind the trim panels out of sight to give you a 4-way for a trailer's lights. It also has a powered converter to protect your vehicle's wiring from any feedback. It will require a 15-amp fuse to be installed in the wiring harness; the fuse and fuse holder are included in the kit.
What are you planning on using your hitch for?

Hey Will I brought mine for a 2024CRV EXL it was a perfect fit I did the work myself. I used it from Maine all the way to Illinois with a 5 x 8 three times can’t go wrong solid as a rock, it should fit all CRV’s from 2023 to 2026

I purchased a etrailer hitch for my 2024 Honda CRV a few years ago. No problems with it. I always bought my hitches from etrailer for all the cars I’ve owed. The website is user friendly and it’s always easy to install. I definitely recommend purchasing a hitch from them.

I installed this hitch on my 2023 Hybrid Sport CRV. One of the bolt holes didn't line up with the ones in the frame, a friend had the tools to shave 1/8" off one side of the frame hole at a cost of 1 dozen donuts. A YouTube video (not from Curt) showed me how to install this so that the foot activated hatch worked as designed, it works very well.

I brought this for my 2025 crv lx. I was going to put it on myself, but didn't have the time or any assistance. I had it put on at a local shop and it was great. They had to drop the exhaust but it was worth it because it looks like it came from the factory that way. I mainly use it to haul my bike around. I got it on etrailer.com Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Platform Rack. I have even pulled a small popup camper trailer and I am looking for getting other trailer accessories too The matte black finish goes really well with my car. I got this version for the odyssey van too Will continue to shop at etrailer.com

We put this on our 2025 CR-V Hybrid Sport about 2 years ago. I've installed maybe 8 or 9 hitches on various cars over the years, but the exhaust hanger on this CR-V beat me. I simply couldn't get the "short" one off. After over an hour, I threw in the towel. I certainly didn't want to break some plastic parts around it. Took it to a buddy that had a lift, the right tools, and experience and finished in 15 minutes. Cost me a case, well spent. Good luck in your travels.
