The box arrived with only minor damage to the cardboard. The frame was able to move around alot which caused some damage to the cardboard. The bag of fasteners was intact but not secured. The installation of the hitch receiver was relatively straight forward. Drilling upward to attach the brackets was very challenging. Not much room to push a drill bit into the metal channels.
I feel more is needed to secure the 60 pound hitch frame to the box.

by:

As is typical of Curt products, this is extremely well built. Very clean painted finish. It might be a little challenging to drill the 5/8 holes for the mounting brackets as the the tubing is quite thick. I did it on a milling machine- a good drill press will work also. Otherwise, take your time and use a series of small drills to step up to the 5/8" I actually used a 21/32 as that is what it appears Curt puts in the mating part. This was overkill for my application. I put it on a Keystone Fuzion 371 Toy hauler. I have a pit bike and two beach cruisers. The mounting plate on the hauler is not designed for the full load of this hitch, but my intent is just for the bike rack.

Like so many other people, we have recently acquired E bikes. Our RV isn’t very large. It is an R-Pod RP202.. I debated, trying to find a way to store the ebikes inside the RV, but realized we would be tripping over themconstantly, I bought a great bike rack for our car that is rated for RV use. It is the Hyperax 2023 VOLT RV and it works great on our Audi Q8 tow vehicle. So that got me thinking of trying to install a hitch on our our pod. After carefully considering various universal, RV hitches, I decided to go with the Curt model 13704 which is rated 5000/500lbs capacity. I had to drill four 1/2”holes in the I-beam frame and four 9/16”holes in the hitch cross beam. The hitch was the perfect with four of the R -Pod RP202 and should have no problem carrying the weight of our two 60 pound e-bikes. E-trailer provided excellent support both before and after I ordered the hitch from them. I alsoneeded to remove the rear stabilizer jacks and relocate them to just forward of the hitch brackets.

by:

Installed this on my 2019 Keystone Passport 2670BH for pulling a second trailer and it works perfectly. I did have to purchase a drawbar with a longer receiver so the trailer would clear the stock bumper on the camper. My campers bumper mounts wouldn't let me move the hitch further back and I didn't want to remove the stock bumper. Works great though. Very strong.

by:

Excellent proactive customer service. I wish all my online purchase experiences were with etrailer.com as they have superior merchandise at reasonable prices and they follow that up with outstanding customer service. I'm elated how my hitch mounted on my camper.

by:

This was great for what I needed, which was to pull my kayak trailer behind my 5th Wheel. It was a simple install. I installed it by myself, but it would have been easier with two people. I have made two cross country trips with no issues. With a small trailer and a 35' 5th Wheel, I cannot see the trailer at all, except for the shadow if the sun is right.

I have changed from a light kayak trailer to a slightly heavier 12X6 enclosed trailer. It pulls great, but I do feel a little movement when I get passed by larger vehicles, similar to what if feels like with towing a bumper pull RV. It is not bad, but it is noticeable. I still highly recommend the hitch, it seems to be working without any issues.

When I received the trailer hitch I had ordered the carton had large hole in it. On inspection of the content I found that the hardware was missing. This was a UPS delivery. I took pictures of the package and called etrailer customer service. They immediately took action and sent a replacement package to me. They offered any assistance I might need for the installation of the hitch.
The installation went well and I now have a good quality hitch on my RV.

Hitch works fine. I did add a U-bolt around the receiver tube and fastened it to the RV bumper to reduce some of the twisting force where the hitch bar connects to the RV frame. We use the hitch to hold a heavy duty bike rack for our E-bikes.

by:

Can’t go wrong with Curt! Fit perfectly on my RV and performed as expected with the bike rack.

by:

The product is excellent. I'll be modifying the side brackets slightly by turning them sideways to fit my 1958 Willys station wagon and cutting off excess for ground clearance and but other than that it will be a bolt-on improvement. I choose the C13704 over the similar C13702 because it put the mouth of the reciever roughly 2" further back, right where I wanted it.

by:

IT was sent Back due to it had to be put on the rv On wednesday and was supposed to be delivered on Tuesday. UPS lost shipment so had to drive 2 hours to purchase one i could use. This was not Etrailers fault and they sent a return lable right away for me to send back.

by:

The site says this does not fit but it works perfect for my application it mounted to the main frame rail towards the front and the other part of the fame to the back. my goal is for my bike rack and not to pull anything else.

by:

Just what I needed to cary my e bikes on the back of the Sonic trailer. Packaged well and all parts where there.

by:

Just received this for my 18' Travel Trailer and the build on this item is really strong and heavy. I have not installed it yet but it is straight forward and looks quite simple.
I would definitely recommend this to my friends.
Also shipping was extremely fast and i have been using etrailer for better than 10 years now as they never let me down.
All heavy duty hardware is included which is not in the picture

by:

I ordered a 66” adjustable hitch for the back of my Keystone fifth wheel. With fuel prices high, I want to pull another trailer for my side by side. It arrived in just two days. I had to weld it to my frame because of the way the back stabilizer jacks were but I think it will work great.

by:

The high quality, flexibility of a universal part, adaptability and ease of fabrication as well as installation made this product very user friendly. Also, a BIG thank you to Danielle in customer service (ext. 79394) who researched and looked until she found just what I was looking for from the shelf. Nice work ! As you look below at Warhawk, take note that this is the Hot Rod the hitch will be attached to...for the long haul.

by:

Great Experience! I needed to find a hitch that could carry a bike rack on the back of a travel trailer. E-trailer very informative about finding the correct hitch. It arrived very quickly & the staff are great about following up on the progress of the order. The installation instructions were very clear to follow.

Installed the hitch in less than a day. I bolted it to the trailer frame. I have a rack on it for carrying a generator.

The hitch is strong and durable. It does not loosen when traveling and easily holds a generator.

by:

Shipping was fast, customer seevice was great, product is as marketed. Its stong, stour, easy to install. Love that etrailer does video specifications/measurements on thier products. I have installed the hitch but haven't towed with it yet, but overall a great product.

by:

I had this professionally installed locally. The final result was perfect so I can now tow a boat with my short bus!

by:

Curt's adjustable trailer hitch receiver worked as planned. I was looking for a hitch receiver that would be able to carry the 75 lb. weight of our double recumbent trike carrier. The camper bumper has a low weight rating and I wouldn't trust it to hold the carrier weight over the long term. I mounted the hitch assembly by both bolting it through the bottom of the camper frame and also welding side plates between the hitch assembly and camper frame. I also welded a plate between the receiver tongue and rear camper frame to minimize receiver flex. These additional plates should allow us to safely carry our two recumbent etrikes on the carrier if needed in an emergency. Total weight including carrier would be 175 – 200 lbs. Currently we carry the etrikes inside the camper on a custom rack.

by:

With modifications it will fit. I had 1/4” plates made and bent, I also had 1/4” steel plates made for backing plates. I used four 1/2” grade 8 bolts, lock nuts and washers to through bolt them to the frame. I bolted the receiver brackets to the leg and the plates bolted to the frame. My 2014 Keystone Cougar 337FLS which has a slide out tray that’s attached to the bumper which slides out. By making the plates big enough I was able to clear the slide out parts of the bumper. To extend beyond the bumper I had to get a 18” Curt extension and a ball mount. I’ll be towing a utility trailer (6x10) with a 2 wheel drive quad and two 3500 generators. I’m making a set of plates to clamp the extension to the bumper to stop the movement of the extension.

by:

Very well constructed, heavy duty hitch. I installed this on the back of my Arctic Fox 29-5T 5th wheel, in order to haul my generator on it. I had to add some 2" square steel stock as spacers to lower it enough to clear hard parts on the trailer. Only negative is the requirement for some odd sized, large drill bits.

by:

This works great on my 16 ft 2025 Kestone Sprout, I just need a extcion to bring my ball out and up to clear the spare tire.

by:

Really sturdy!! thick walled plates and tubing!! Fit the I-beam frame and bolted right to the flanges. A bit of time fitting-marking-drilling but not a hard install. Probably like (5) 2 hour evenings all together. Would definitely buy again for future campers!! Torque the cross member bolts on the ground before installing under the camper.

Install looks great, Joe! What are you going to be hauling on the back of your RV?

by:

Beefy hitch, nice fit and finish. Will work well to carry our heavy e-bikes on the back of our camper. Bought some decent drill bits, they were smoked by the time I was done drilling, even using some oil to lube them. Maxed out the length at 66" frame to frame, still solid, no bounce under load.

The hitch looks great on your trailer, Dan. I was looking at your bumper and wondering if it's also some kind of storage box built into it. Please correct me if I'm wrong though!

Thanks for the photo! I can now see the issues you are having trying to install a trailer hitch on your 2019 Forest River Rockwood Ultra Lite Fifth Wheel. That said, the brackets for the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13703 and the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13704 are too large to attach to the square tubing used to attach your bumper and this square tubing would get in the way if you tired to mount the hitch to the frame underneath.
