Question:

Hi, Ive got a 2021 Jayco Jayfeather 30QB and I am wanting to add a frame hitch so I can haul my bike carrier. Do you have any hitches that will work with my camper? I would prefer 500lb tongue weight rated, if possible. Thanks, James

Hey James,

In order to find the correct hitch for your Jayfeather you'll need to measure the distance between the inside of the two frame rails in order to get your frame width. From there we can then look at adjustable fit trailer hitches to find the correct fit. For example, the Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13704 can fit frame widths from 22" to 66" wide. This hitch has a 2" drop from the mounting points so if your trailer has a rear bumper you might have to remove it or get a hitch with a large drop to clear it.

Hey Kevin, Thanks for the reply. My frame rails are 65" inside to inside, 68" outside to outside. My bumper sits flush with the frame rails, but there is a plate that drops down from the camper around the frame rails, it is about 2" lower than the frame. From that plate to the back of the bumper is about 9". Are there any other measurements I should consider? This sole purpose for me putting a hitch is to carry a LoloRack 6 bike carrier. Inside to inside 65" Outside to outside 68" I intend to use it to haul a LoloRack 6 bike carrier with 5 bikes on it.

@JamesH With a 65" frame width you would be able to use the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13704. This hitch has a 500lb tongue weight capacity to accommodate your bike rack and 5 bikes.
