One day after placing my order, I received an email informing me that my order had been upgraded from the shipping choice I had selected to a faster delivery at no extra cost to me. I had an excellent experience with this company and will recommend it to anyone that requires a hitch and/or accessories. Thank you!

Installed on a 1991 Ford E350 Ambulance. Receiver fit perfectly, install was a breeze. Had to drill 2 holes as described in instructions. Used the holes on the receiver bracket as the template. Total cake job. Install was approximately 45-60 min in total.

I use the receiver daily hauling around my motorcycle. No issues.

Our family has been in the classic car business since 1969.....I have chained a trailer hitch on the back bumper many times and headed out for California...very recently my sister bought a vending route along with a 1 ton van....she bought a new trailer hitch somewhere and wanted me to drill holes in the frame because it wasn't the correct one...I found etrailer online and called...the product was here overnight and Suz installed it herself!!.....I highly recommend etrailer..... thank Katie D!

1998 Ford Edge

Love the video. It was a great help in installing this hitch. Very easy to follow. Nice tip with the silicone adhesive to hold the washers in place. The receiver edge sits back under my bumper about 5 in. Unfortunately a little bit farther back than my previous hitch so I have to buy new ball mounts now. Would have been nice if the hitch had been designed to angle back to end up at the edge of the bumper. There are not very many ball mount options for where it sits.
But I found what I needed. The hitch is on and looks sturdy. And soon I'll be able to tow again once I receive the ball mounts from etrailer.com

Heavy duty, I would recommend

1998 Ford Five Hundred

This hitch receiver works as it should. It came well finished, with clear instructions and all the hardware needed to install it. I had a question about possible clearance issues and called etrailer customer support. The tech was great and answered all of my questions. The hitch receiver fit great, no additional drilling was needed. I also was able to reinstall my spare tire under the van, which my older hitch receiver did not allow enough space for.

I have a step bumper on my 1998 Ford E350 van. I was going to use if for my hitch mounted tilt up, cargo carrier, with a 500 pound capacity. This hitch receiver sets back a couple inches too far from the step bumper and would not allow the cargo carrier to tilt up, unless I used a hitch extension. I used an 8" extension with a 5k tow and 500 pound tongue capacity. Using a hitch extension will decrease your load capacity. So, make sure the hitch extension is capable of handling the load you will be putting on it.

The Curt products I received are as described, high quality and were well packed. The hitch fits the 27-year-old vehicle. I was glad to have such a large range of products across different brands, and the prices were the best I found. The shipment of hitch receiver, ball mount, ball, etc., got here just a few days after I ordered it. I didn't expect such fast shipping. I will recommend etrailer.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 1997 Ford E-250
Michelle, it does not look like Reese makes a trailer hitch for your '97 Ford Van, unfortunately. Instead, I'd suggest going with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 14053. Curt makes great products so I'm fairly confident this will work just fine in place of the Reese. This hitch has a max weight capacity of 10,000 lbs, a max tongue weight capacity of 1,000 lbs, and is custom fit to your vehicle so it will bolt right up.

  • Recommended Hitch for Turtle Top Van Terra Built on 2000 E350
For what you are describing, I think the best option is to use the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Cross Tube, # 41990; this is a 2" receiver Class V hitch. this is to be welded in to place using either the 16" Weld-On Bracket Kit for Draw-Tite Class V Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch, # 4916 or, the 7" version, # 4907. This will provide you with a Class V hitch and multiple placement options best fit your needs. If I follow correctly your last statement of the...

According to my Curt Representative, the Class IV # 14053 or the # 13053 Class III hitch is a fit for the 1990 Ford E350 Van. The Class IV hitch has a 1000 lb tongue weight 10,000 lb towing capacity. The # 13053 Class III has a 500 lb tongue weight, 5,000 lb towing capacity. You can purchase either hitch by clicking on the provided product links.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 1999 Ford E-450 Ambulance
Hey Parakesh, there aren't going to be any custom options but what you can do is use something like # 41990 which has a 16k capacity. This option would require it to be welded on and would also require either the 7" drop brackets # 4907 or the 16" brackets # 4916. If there is something else I can help you with, please feel free to let me know!

  • Comparing Curt Class III and Class IV Trailer Hitches for 1999 Ford Van
There are two views on this scenario...but yes the Curt hitch part # 13053 with a 5,000 lb capacity and the part # 14053 with a 10,000 lb capacity both fit your 1999 Ford Van. So since you know you don't need the additional capacity there really isn't much to gain by going with the higher rated hitch so why spend the extra money? But if you think you might ever need to tow a heavier trailer then it does make the most sense to get the higher rated hitch. That's how I'd approach the choice...

What I like about this Curt hitch over the other brands we carry is the ease of installation. The Curt hitch will install to the frame of your Ford using already existing bolt holes. There will be no drilling required making installation less labor intensive. If you are going to use the hitch to tow trailer, then you will...

I have a solution for you, but the two hitches you were looking at will not fit your Motorhome. While there is no custom fit hitch for your chassis, we do offer a few universal options. One type of motorhome hitch is the Draw-Tite # 5350, which can accommodate the mounting hole spread of 22 inches.
