When you want to tow a small camper, boat, or utility trailer, this Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver gives you the strength and stability to do it. It’s rated for 6,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 600 lbs maximum tongue weight, or up to 10,000 lbs GTW and 1,000 lbs TW when used with weight distribution. The 2" x 2" receiver opening is the standard size for most towing accessories, so you can easily use your favorite ball mount or a cargo carrier when you’re not towing.

THis thing ROCKS!!!! Its the Bees knees!! Just had to grind a few brackets down on the ol' C-10 's bumper and Bob's your uncle!!! Spacers on the frame, and bolted right up. BOO----YAAAAAAA
Not completely a custom fit but was able to make work if you have a step bumper you have to remove two of the support brackets as well
Install was very easy and the included hardware saved allot of time. Works, fits perfectly. Wish I had another pickup to install one more hitch on.

R/10 short bed 2wd. On my application I had to drill the
two holes closet to the cab. Easy install. Maybe 15 minutes max.

The receiver was great but when it got to my house the box that it came in was destroyed
Installed on my 86 Chevy C10. Had to modify a few things but not terrible. There were some brackets that connected the bumper to the frame that needed to be removed. I took a picture of the bracket loosely attached for reference. Also had to drill out some rivets in a piece of metal that connects the two frame rails. I took a picture of me pointing at the spot where the rivet was. So had to drill 4 holes total. Overall not too difficult and is pretty well hidden under the truck.

Hitch did fit the F53 chassis on Forest River Class A motorhome. However the middle hole on each side did not line up and I had to drill a new hole in the frame.
Just installed on my 1959 3100 apache.it fits great & the quality is very high. You attach it with 6 bolts ( included) see pics. This should fit any 1/2 ton 55-59 chevy truck imo.

Its still holding strong a year later. I haul a 18ft flatbed with a tractor several times a month and a water trailer a couple times a month as well.
didn't fit after chatting with a representative at your company about the correct hitch for my truck. Then had to pay $50 to send it back.
Product and hardware are of good quality, only 1 hole on each side of my trucks frame lined up, so I had to drill more holes in the frame and line it up the best I could, also it didn’t clear the license plate frame on the bumper so I had to trim that about an inch, but in the end it looks good and feels secure, so I’m happy, I haven’t towed with it yet but I torqued the bolts up with a breaker bar so I’m sure it will be fine for a small boat.

When installing a trailer hitch like part # 13028 it is necessary to use a torque wrench to get the bolts to the right tightness. It is important to tighten bolts to the specified foot lbs in the instructions to avoid failure. Many auto parts stores lend out tools so you will not have to buy one in most cases.
First let start off by saying that from the time I ordered the hitch receiver, and the time it arrived at my doorstep was quite timely and much faster than other sites I have ordered parts from. Directions were simple enough to understand and not much of a read. Only problems I came across was the previous holes that were drilled into the frame did not match with the holes on the receiver (previous owner must have had a different style receiver installed). I wasn’t too upset at this as this was something I expected from a truck that is nearly 50 years old; simply fixed this by drilling new holes, which if I remember correctly, was stated to be expected during install. Along with this, I had to remove the exhaust tail pipes as they were in the way, but this shouldn’t be a problem if your vehicle has the exhaust directed out the side instead of straight back like mine. The directions state to use a 1/2 inch drill bit for the holes, but I found this to be too tight. I would recommend using a 5/8 inch bit or shimmying the 1/2 inch bit around while you drill. I would recommend you get a buddy to help, but in a case like mine, simple vice grips sufficed to hold the hitch receiver in place while I drilled. Should take about an hour with help and sharp drill bits. Overall was a good experience.
Just as most of the other reviews have said, the hitch is nice but it does require removal of about 3/4” off the bottom of the license plate bracket. Only two hole holes lined up and you have to either drill them out or weld on. Other than that it’s a nice hitch
Installed this on my 69' C-10 LWB about 1yr ago and have had very good success with it. As I recall it was a little more difficult because I set it forward a little more than normal and had to drill a couple holes. It wound up being almost a hidden hitch. Hitch appears to be well built with good looking welds. I have used this to tow 22' Ski boat on numerous occasions without any issues.

After another year the hitch is still performing as it should with no issues.
The quality of the CURT hitch is superb. Installation was s bit strange. One hole on each side lined up. I had to drill the other four. Not a big deal. The weird part is that the center section of the bumper where the license plate goes had to have 3/4 inch cut from the bottom and the license moved up 3/4 inch to clear the receiver.
Someone without a good workshop would not have been able to install this hitch.

Awesome. I have pulled a 14 box trailer with my 67 Chevy C10 several times. No issues at all.
Very happy. The #13028 cleared the license plate holder on my 1971 C10 step side. But for having to drill some holes was easily installed. Delivery was fast and the price plus shipping was a bargain. Thank you! I am very satisfied.
I bought the hitch about a year ago. With the truck frame having pre-drilled holes already, I was worried about drilling more holes. After talking with welders and semi-truck drivers about the hitch and a couple more holes, I was assured that etrailer had provided the correct hardware.
I installed it, fit like a glove and used it to reposition a 12'x38' office. It worked great and it looks sharp too.

Hitch was clearly marketed as “Drilling Required” and for my application this was clearly the case. Drilling these 6 holes was not fun, but again it was expected. My truck is a 1987 F-350 that was built as a “cab and chassis” model so the finished product can be highly dependent on whatever body your truck may have. Mine has a wrecker body installed and I would prefer that the actual receiver portion wouldn’t have stuck out from the tailboard so much but it’s impossible to make a receiver for every truck. 100% functional and happy with my purchase. Furthermore I was immediately provided all the pertinent shipping info and it arrived as stated undamaged.
