A very great Hitch easy install and works great very well built. It bolted up to my 1955 second series chevy truck perfectly after drilling holes. Thank you for a great product.

by:

Worked fine, had to raise tag bracket 3 /4".

by:

Just as most of the other reviews have said, the hitch is nice but it does require removal of about 3/4” off the bottom of the license plate bracket. Only two hole holes lined up and you have to either drill them out or weld on. Other than that it’s a nice hitch

Just installed on my 1959 3100 apache.it fits great & the quality is very high. You attach it with 6 bolts ( included) see pics. This should fit any 1/2 ton 55-59 chevy truck imo.

That's awesome! If you ever want to send in a photo of the whole truck, it would be super fun to see!

by:

I bought the hitch about a year ago. With the truck frame having pre-drilled holes already, I was worried about drilling more holes. After talking with welders and semi-truck drivers about the hitch and a couple more holes, I was assured that etrailer had provided the correct hardware.
I installed it, fit like a glove and used it to reposition a 12'x38' office. It worked great and it looks sharp too.
Excellent product, service and customer service.

by:

Install was very easy and the included hardware saved allot of time. Works, fits perfectly. Wish I had another pickup to install one more hitch on.

by:

Not completely a custom fit but was able to make work if you have a step bumper you have to remove two of the support brackets as well

by:
1971 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

THis thing ROCKS!!!! Its the Bees knees!! Just had to grind a few brackets down on the ol' C-10 's bumper and Bob's your uncle!!! Spacers on the frame, and bolted right up. BOO----YAAAAAAA

by:
1967 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

The quality of the CURT hitch is superb. Installation was s bit strange. One hole on each side lined up. I had to drill the other four. Not a big deal. The weird part is that the center section of the bumper where the license plate goes had to have 3/4 inch cut from the bottom and the license moved up 3/4 inch to clear the receiver.
Someone without a good workshop would not have been able to install this hitch.
This pic is before the license was moved up.

1969 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

Installed this on my 69' C-10 LWB about 1yr ago and have had very good success with it. As I recall it was a little more difficult because I set it forward a little more than normal and had to drill a couple holes. It wound up being almost a hidden hitch. Hitch appears to be well built with good looking welds. I have used this to tow 22' Ski boat on numerous occasions without any issues.

  • 2 Inch Trailer Hitch that Fits 2009 Toyota Prius
Hey Mike, so we have a 2 inch hitch that does fit your 2009 Toyota Prius with the EcoHitch part # 306-X7196 but the Curt you mentioned for sure does not fit. Hitch fits are very specific and if there was any possible carryover between two models the manufacturers would have it listed for all of them.

  • Is there Another Hitch for My 1999 Chevrolet Malibu Since the Curt 12027 is Discontinued?
Hello George, I really wish that the 12027 wasn't discontinued because I do not have any other options available for you. I would see if there is someone out there selling the Curt 12027, or I have great luck finding stuff like that at junk yards. You can also reach out to a local fabricator to see if they can design something for you. What were you looking to use the hitch for? Just trying to think outside the box to see if we have a different solution for you.

  • Will the Curt Hitch 13028 Fit a 1966 Chevrolet C10 with Aftermarket Bumper
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13028 could potentially fit your 1966 Chevrolet C10 with aftermarket bumper. However, I would not be able to confirm this as the trailer hitch is only tested with the OEM bumper. I have attached a photo for you with a few measurements that will allow you to see if the receiver tube will clear the bumper. If it does not then please let me know and I will see if we have a better fit for you.

  • Trailer Hitch Fit for a 1977 Ford F-150
Hi Mark, it looks like you picked up the Curt hitch that fits the cab and chassis models of the 1977 Ford trucks. Do you know if your truck was originally built as a cab and chassis model which means it came with a slightly wider frame and was made to have a box bed, flat bed or service bed added on after it came off the line. If it wasn't a cab and chassis model, then it was likely just the standard pick-up with a standard bumper, then I'd recommend the B&W Class 5 Hitch, # BWHDRH25122....

  • Will Curt Hitch Fit 1986 Chevy Short Bed Pickup
The Curt # 13028 is designed to fit the 1981 - 1987 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup 6 Foot Bed with Standard or Step Bumper. Assuming everything with the frame is the same as it was from the factory this hitch will line up and fit your 1986 Chevy. It sounds to me like you took measurements on the truck and compared them to the diagram below and it does not match. If that is the case, the only option would be to weld on a universal hitch like the # 41990-07 or have a custom hitch fabricated...

All of the hitches you referenced with the exception of part # 13028 have been confirmed to fit your 1992 Chevy Pickup. The rest, part # 41524, # 75033 , and # 75099 have all been confirmed as a fit. The main difference between Draw-Tite trailer hitches # 75033 and # 75099 is the placement of the receiver tube on the cross member. On 75033 the receiver is attached to the rear part of the cross member. On 75099 it is welded below the cross member so that the cross member will not be...

  • Where to Measure Vehicle Frame for Picking Out Trailer Hitch
When measuring the frame width on a vehicle, you will need to measure from the outside of one frame rail to the outside of the other frame rail. If you have the larger frame width of 37-1/4 inches you would want the Curt Hitch part # C15300, or if you have the 34 inch frame width (most likely cab and chassis model) you would want the part # 13028.

  • Can Spacers be Added to the Curt Hitch for Bumper Clearance on a 1966 Chevrolet C10
I do have an option for you but I cannot recommend you add any spacers in between the trailer hitch and trailer frame as this would affect the integrity of the trailer hitch. Therefore, if the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13028 does not clear the rear bumper on your 1966 Chevrolet C10 then your only other option is to use the Curt 3-Piece Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C15511. The distance from the bottom of the frame to the top of the receiver tube opening is 4-1/2" with part # 13028...

A standard bumper looks like a regular old bumper that goes straight across at the top and bottom and might have a cut out in the center for a license plate but the cutout does not drop below the bottom of the bumper. A deep drop bumper will have the cut out in the middle but drops below the bottom of the bumper (at the center) so that it angles up from the center to the outer edges of the bumper. Spacer blocks, part # 01077-011 are required when installing the # 75034 hitch because of the rivets on the frame of your truck. You will need six of the blocks to complete the installation.
