Question:

will this 13028 fit a 66 c10 with the Barden step bumper? I measured exactly 4 1/2 inches from bottom of truck frame to bottom of bumper? I see the hitch says 4 1/2, but see potentially where it could be lessnear where the receiver accepts the hitch

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13028 could potentially fit your 1966 Chevrolet C10 with aftermarket bumper. However, I would not be able to confirm this as the trailer hitch is only tested with the OEM bumper. I have attached a photo for you with a few measurements that will allow you to see if the receiver tube will clear the bumper. If it does not then please let me know and I will see if we have a better fit for you.

If the distance from the bottom of the frame to the bottom of the bumper is 4-1/2" exactly then I would actually use the Curt 3-Piece Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C15511 instead as the distance from the top of the receiver tube to the top of the mounting flange is right at 7-3/4" so you should have plenty of room with your Barden step bumper.
