Question:
I have a 1978 GMC 1/2 ton 6foot bed pickup. Standard bumper, not a step bumper. And it has the spare tire in the rear in the stock location which I want to retain. I know modifications will need to be made on anything I buy. But in planning this so I end up with a very clean installation on a truck that has just undergone a frame off restoration I need to see dimension drawings, mainly depth of hitch top to bottom and hole spacing. I want it to just clear the stock license plate bracket. Would you have any drawings you can send me on the Curt 13028 or the Draw-tite 75034. Any suggestion on other hitches would be welcome. I do not tow anything other than a dual motorcycle trailer so 5000 rating is more than enough.

I called my contact at Draw-Tite and asked about the dimensions you mentioned. They do not offer drawings of the items but did give me some dimensions that will help you determine if it will work for you.
Spacer blocks, part # 01077-011 are required when installing the # 75034 hitch because of the rivets on the frame of your truck. You will need six of the blocks to complete the installation.
The measurement from the bottom of the truck frame to the top of the receiver is 5-5/8 inches. That includes the blocks which are 3/8 inches thick. From the bottom of the truck frame to the bottom of the receiver when the hitch is installed the measurement is 8-3/8 inches. I have attached a photo of the hitch and noted the dimensions that will help you. As far as the spare tire, the carrier will need to be repositioned forward according to my contact at Draw-Tite. The spare will be in the same area but need to be moved a little to accommodate the receiver tube on the hitch.
The Curt hitches are designed for an 8-ft truck bed.
