Hello Neighbors, I'm Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look together at these Truck Rack T-slot Fit Kit for your Malone Kayak Carriers. Now folks, these will let you mount a Malone kayak or surfboard carrier to your truck bed ladder rack with the top channels. And this does work with a couple different models of those, so make sure you're checking out our website here at etrailer.com. I'll put those item numbers up on the screen. Those are sold separately.
Now folks, these do replace, again, the clamp on nine hardware that's included with those carriers. The channel nuts here simply slide into the crossbar's top channels and bolt to the carrier. And there's different sized ones here to fit your needs and the installation, Allen key or Allen wrench as well. Folks, these are Electroplated hardware, so they're gonna resist corrosion and they will fit most crossbars with top channels. The bolt lengths here are one and 11 16th inches long.
Everything here is a nice limited lifetime warranty. You're gonna get eight channel nuts, eight M8 bolts, and one Allen wrench and eight washers. These work like a dream! They were easy to put on and get attached to my Rhino Rack and keep everything secure.
Work well, on the older Downloader carriers. The new ones have a slightly different profile which cause the bolts to be about 1/8" to 3/16" too long when going to an Overhaul HD top bar. Solution is to get a few washers and insert, in my case 3 was the ticket. Otherwise the bolt bottoms out in the bottom of the slot prior to engaging T nut. On my older downloader, it's a perfect fit, maybe half a mm clearance below the bolt to the bottom of the slot when fully tight.
You get far more than what is pictured. You get 4 short screws, 4 long screws, 4 nuts for small T-slots, 4 nuts for large T-slots, 8 washers and 1 allen key. Required a few more extra washers to make the short screws work with a Thule Probar Evo. The roof rack required the large nuts. Would buy again.
