How To Use 1-1/4" Bike Rack With Curt Hitch On 2026 Kia Sportage X-Line Hybrid

Updated 05/03/2026 | Published 04/29/2026

Question:

This Curt C94WR looks good for my 2026 Kia Sportage X-Line Hybrid, but Id like to use it to fit the Allen Sports 532QR Deluxe 3-bike rack that I used on my last car, which has a 1.25inch receiver. Is there another 1.25inch model or 2-to-1/25inch adapter I could use? Im not hauling any weight, just 2 regular-weight non-electric bikes.

Hey Jack! Class III hitches with a 2" receiver like the Curt # C94WR are the only option for your 2026 Kia Sportage X-Line Hybrid. No need to worry though, you can still use your Allen Sports 532QR Deluxe bike rack with this hitch. All you need is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter - 2" (Class III) to 1-1/4" # C45770.

The use of an adapter will cut the hitch capacity by 50%, but with standard bikes that won't be an issue. The hitch already has a high tongue weight capacity at 525 lbs so that will take you down to 262.5 lbs.

Where are you headed with the bikes once you get the hitch installed?

I have the same hitch and adapter but my rack is a 1upUSA for heavy e-bikes. My vehicle is a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The installation could have been easier. Best of all the performance is amazing with no wobble or noise at all. As always, Etrailer delivered fast!
