Question:

Hi, for a 2026 Mazda CX-50, non hybrid, non turbo, - Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, they are all 2 inch, no 1.25 inch? I will only be carrying one bike on a tray. I have used the Curt, from etrailer, 1.25 hitch on my 2016 mazda 6, since...2016, zero issues. Great product.

Hello Har; the Curt # C33MJ with a 2" receiver is the only option for your 2026 Mazda CX-50. The 2" receiver gives you more options in general, and has a higher capacity compared to a Class I or Class II.

What you can do is add the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter - 2" to 1-1/4" # C45770 to carry your bike rack. This will reduce the capacity of the hitch by 50%, but with a single bike rack and your bike that won't be an issue.

What kind of bike rack do you have?

Hi Robin H,. Thanks for the great follow up. I have exclusively used a 1up USA Quik-Rack for the last 10 years. I belive my original 1 up packaging may have included an adapter to add on to the 1up. Are you familiar? Har

@Har I believe you're correct that the Quik Rack came with a 2" adapter. I would reach out to 1UP and see if they can get you a replacement before grabbing the Curt adapter.

@Har I recently purchased the 2" Curt rack for our 2026 CX-50. We also have the 1up bike rack that we previously used with our 2019 CX-5 and a 1.25" hitch receiver. And yes, the 1-up rack did come with the 2" receiver adapter which fits and works fine with our new 2" Curt hitch.

@JimH Thanks this is great to know, and stored away in the original packaging, yep, i have the 2" receiver adapter. Hope you are enjoying your CX50!
