Anti-Rattle Device for 2 Inch to 1-1/4 Inch Receiver Adapter Carrying Bike Rack
Question:
In reading the reviews of this product some respondents recommended anti vibration locking pins or hitch clamps to reduce vibrations, What are these products and how do they work? I will be using the adapter for a bike rack. Should I also order one of these extra products?

Because using an adapter like the # C45770 adds another piece to the connection between the hitch receiver tube and the hitch mounted accessory (bike rack in this instance), you will tend to get some more movement than you normally would.
If you were to use a Roadmaster Quiet Hitch, part # RM-061 where the adapter connects to the receiver hitch, it would prevent movement there. If your bike rack already has an anti-rattle threaded hitch pin, you won't need to do anything about the connection between the adapter and the bike rack as the bike racks threaded pin will keep that pretty still.
If your bike rack doesn't have a threaded hitch pin, then I'd also recommend using the 1-1/4 inch hitch version # RM-061 at the connection between the adapter and the rack.
