Question:

I have a 2024 Ionic 5 and a Thule Bike rack that has a 1 1/4 width to connect to a hitch. Do you have a product I can purchase? Most i see are bars that bolt to the car with a 2 hitch. Probably due to lots of plastic fender/parts.

Hey Julie, since all of the hitches that fit your 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 are 2 inch in size like the Curt # C98DR what you would need is a hitch reducer to allow bike rack to be used like the Curt # C45770 and you'd be set.

Normally the 2 inch hitch size is preferred since it has higher capacities and has the most accessories made for it which is why it's so popular.

Hey Julie, how did things go using the hitch reducer with your Thule bike rack on the Ioniq 5? Your update could make it easier for the next person trying to match a 1-1/4 rack to a 2-inch hitch.

@JamesonC Thule actually had provided a metal reducer that worked perfectly that had the correct hole placement for the lock! So I never used a reducer purchased online as it did not allow the lock to work. When you buy a Thule, be sure to keep all those extras given to you as you may need that in the future! Giving a shout out to Thule & their forward thinking of what a bike owner may need now or in the future! Julie
