Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at the Shocker Hitch gooseneck coupler with shift lock. Now, this coupler is designed as a heavy duty replacement or upgrade for a gooseneck trailer that already uses a four-inch square inner tube. Now, the big selling point is going to be our shift lock dual latch system. So instead of grabbing the ball on just one side, this is going to clamp down on both sides of your 2 5/16 inch gooseneck ball. And once it's locked, it's not going anywhere.

So that's gonna give you a lot more confidence when you're towing heavy. So let me show you how this is going to work in case you're not real familiar with it. I do have this in the open position. So right now, this is ready just to drop over your ball. But then when you're ready to lock it, you're just going to remove this tethered pin and clip here and then you're just going to move that down into the locked position.

So as you can see, especially here, when you open that up, you can see that the bars move out and then when you move it to the locked position, that's actually going to surround that 2 5/16 inch ball. And so once that is around the ball, you will just replace this safety pin and clip like that. So that'll be locked on the ball. And then you've got this optional manual lock as well. It comes with this clip here that you'll just clip right into here, just like that.

So that's just like an additional security measure there. So you are going to be firmly and securely coupled to that 2 5/16 inch ball. So this is going to be especially useful if your original stem is worn out or bent or just outdated. And installation's gonna be straightforward because this slides right into your existing tube. No cutting or welding or extra parts are gonna be needed as long as your stem has the straight safety pin holes.

So you are going to get some flexibility with the ride height. This coupler has four mounting holes, so one, two, three, four, as you can see there. And these are spaced on center at 2 3/4 inches apart, again on center. So you're gonna be able to fine-tune how your trailer sits to keep everything level. Build quality is solid. This is made from thick wall steel tubing with welded components. Lemme zoom in again here just to show that to you. So this is going to hold up really well for you. Shocker Hitch is known for making very well designed, very robust products, and this has a really nice black powder-coat finish on it and it has a slight texture to it, so I think it's gonna hold up really well for you. It's gonna be able to handle the elements that it's gonna be constantly exposed to. In terms of capacity, this is rated for up to 30,000 pounds of gross towing weight with a maximum vertical load or tongue weight of 6,000 pounds. Just keep in mind that your actual towing capacity is always limited by the lowest rated part in your entire setup. One important note that I wanted to make sure that you we inchesre aware of, if your truck has a recessed gooseneck ball, your bed does need at least 12 inch by 12 inch opening for this coupler to operate properly the way that it should. Also, the top of your hitch ball can't sit more than two inches above the bed floor or this coupler, again, won't latch properly. But this is going to be a strong no nonsense replacement coupler that's gonna be relatively easy to install. It's going to be adjustable so you can get that ride height that's gonna work best for you. And this is built for serious towing as long as your truck and your trailer meet the fitment requirements.
